You know how tempting it is to use "NEW STUFF" when it knocks on your door. Well, I had to use two new things and I had leftover paper for the cup, to boot. KARMA!

You know how tempting it is to use "NEW STUFF" when it knocks on your door. Well, I had to use two new things and I had leftover paper for the cup, to boot. KARMA!
Supplies:I didn't have a card for a friend whose pet had passed away, so when I received my order of dies, I wanted to put together a card with the rainbow bridge. I had some paper from an envelope with the crisscross pattern, so I stamped directly onto this paper with the "Big Post Card" wooden stamp, which is very old, but still occupies a spot in my heart and stamp drawer. LOL
I know this isn't the happy rainbow card, but I think we all have a friend who's wonderful animal friend has passed away.
Supplies:
Hero Arts Big Post Card (S5665) - years old, but a favorite
My Favorite Things Rainbow Bridge
My Favorite Things Pet Silhouettes Die-namics
Nuvo Crystal Drops Liquid Mercury & Gloss Ebony Black
Sentiment (already in my cut pile)
Copic markers for the rainbow bridge
Inside envelope paper
Vagabond die cut machine

I had to use a new stamp and die set right away!
I'm not sure why I wanted these cute guys to be on clouds, but I bypassed the snow drifts for the clouds and I just think snowmen deserve to be on clouds. I had this ECD fence on my table and decided to use it too. I almost threw this piece away. I did want to glue it on the inside of the card, but put the glue on the back of the fence by mistake and just went with it. I think it turned out so cute, much cuter than it seems to show here. I fussy cut them out because I put the matching dies in the wrong bundle and can't find them yet. LOL I had precut some holiday sentiments, so I'm not sure what die I used.

I actually have the stamp and matching die cuts from a long time ago and even had a couple colored, but now you can buy the digital version and make these cute elves any size you want.
I changed some buttons and collars to gold and made a gold reinforcement label for this tag. I swiped an ink pad across the tag three times and then just put it aside wondering how I was going to continue. I actually had no gold in, markers, pens or embossing powders and so I bought a gold Pilot marker to add gold touches. I had Wink of Stella and opened a new brush. I was just going to add some to the bottom, but I pushed too hard and a glob, yes, a GLOB squirted out on the bottom of the tag. I think you can tell where that happened, so I just brushed it across and up and up and up the whole tag. It's very glittery in person and I really love it. It will go on a Christmas gift this year. LOL

I hope the new year has given you
a good start and inspiration for the rest of the year.
The Die Cut Divas challenge will end at 9:00 p.m. Pacific time, so I hope you hop on over to enter the challenge.
I really love this card. It turned out exactly as I hoped. I watched the YouTube video to put together the Platform die, which was so easy to follow. The die is not that hard to put together, really, just knowing where to glue the sections needs to be followed for best results.
I colored all the critters, bow, hearts, leaves and flowers which were already die cut by Cindy. I die cut a piece of Window Plastic in a circle and trimmed it into about a 3/4th circle to fit at the very back of the platform. I find the Window Plastic is a sturdy film for such a backing. I decorated to my heart's content, even sticking some of the flowers and mouse on the plastic. You can cover the back with the tops of the flower if you wish to hide any glue dots.
I don't want to give this away! But I will... sniff, sniff. LOL

I never would have thought of making my background with the rays of a sun, but the Christmas Kickstart Challenge made me think outside my little box. had some time yesterday to cut out the dies I needed and do most of the card, but still had to choose sentiments today and final touches.
Sounds like a beauty contest?
