Last Day for Bugaboo Birthday Challenge

I think Bugaboo digital images would make anyone smile and especially on their birthday.  That's what Die Cut Divas' challenge is all about this month.  You only have until 9:00 p.m. Pacific time to enter the challenge at Die Cut Divas.

The theme is BIRTHDAYS
Winner will receive a $12 gift code to shop the store.

It may not be your birthday, but it's someone's birthday, so it's time to make the Die Cut Divas' (DCD) challenge of the month "Birthdays".  What is a birthday without ice cream?  If nothing else, this says summer and fun.  The colors shout it.

I had some pieces of checkered white and yellow paper that couldn't have been better to layer the ice cream shop upon.  Having a great premade card as the base made this an easy card to make.
Supplies:
Copic markers
Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Rectangles
Elizabeth Craft Designs Happy Birthday (one of the many)
Nuvo Crystal Drops Gloss Caribbean Ocean and Midnight Blue
Wink of Stella on parts of the building

June With Julia Spiri

MEMORIAL20 World Wide Open Design Team Challenge

You MUST be a DT on any Design Team in the World to be eligible to enter this Challenge ~ New exception rule, this challenge is now open to any of Julia Spiri Facebook Members, and you are not required to be on a DT.

Just like last month's image, I die-cut this fantastic image before I started coloring.  There were a lot of places where a slip of the scisoors would chop off a falcon's head or arm, but I made it through all the scary parts without damaging the image.  Since she is a steampunk image, I knew I wanted some sort of wheels and/or clocks on the card.  I did soften the face and hair elements, but loaded up the background with gears and clock-like die-cuts in blue and black.

The challenge runs from June 15th through July 12th, Sydney Time Zone 7:00 a.m. or if you're in California, like me, The challenge starts on a Monday, June 14, at 2:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight.

Another One Bit The Dust - New Die Used

I'm fairly happy with this card, however, if you look past the great flames and cute stockings hung by the chimney with care, you'll see that the fireplace is crooked against the "wallpaper".  I don't know what happened, but when I put the front of the card onto the back panel, it was all wonky.  I'll live with it.

I do love the fireplace.  Some of the inserts stayed in like the square corners of the fireplace, which I loved.  I used manilla folders for the paper - fantastic color for a fireplace.  This is however a very large fireplace, so be prepared to make a larger card than an A2 size.

Supplies:
Elizabeth Craft Designs Hang the Christmas Stockings
Kat Scrappiness Never Ending Square Dies
Xmas red patterned paper from Stamping Up
No Copic marker was used - all papers
Vagabond die cut machine

I want to enter the following challenges:
Christmas Kickstart Challenge - Stockings (the chimney or fireplace is purely optional!)
Merry Little Christmas Challenge #35 - anything Christmas goes

May Card Chain Challenge Reveal

Time for my reveal for the Card Chain Challenge

I embossed the panel and used the theme option Tea or Coffee with the optional Cake.  I happen to love that cake, it turned out perfect, imo (in my opinion).  I used a couple of different die cuts to create my panel.  I had rather a hard time deciding on a design and what to use with my tea and cake, but in the end, I like how it turned out.
Supplies:
Elizabeth Craft Designs CAKE Slice, Dessert, Treat ~1395 (also saucer for cup)
Little B Handwritten (hello)
Cuttlebug embossing plate James Set
Enamel Dots
Vagabond die cut machine
I forgot to write down the other dies (cup & leaves)

June With Bugaboo

It may not be your birthday, but it's someone's birthday, so it's time to make the Die Cut Divas' (DCD) theme of the month "Birthdays".

Since Bugaboo is the DCD sponsor this month and I love the "Sunbonnet" images from Bugaboo, so I went with the Sunbonnet Birthday Cake in red tones.  Red is one of my favorite colors and I decided to go monotone for the most part - I guess I could have had red flames, but, no, they are Nuvo Ripened Pumpkin, so still in the reddish tones.  However, if you didn't notice, my cake frosting is a creamy gooey mass of Nuvo Simply White drops.

When you want to coordinate a matt with the image colors, just use your Copic color to edge the paper enough so that it is well covered, but you don't waste your Copics.  I used a white square, colored with Copic R29, to create a scallop pattern when viewed from the outside in.

See the gooey frosting below

Elizabeth Craft Designs Postage Stamp Square dies
Kat Scrappiness Never Ending Square dies
Copic markers
