Tic Tac Toe Inspiration

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

Prize: $20 gift code

This is a Tic Tac Toe challenge month.

I chose Uneven edge/Emboss it/ Red as her Tic Tac Toe as my recipe for this card today. One of the Die Cut Divas received this card for her Birthday, all made with Cas-ual Fridays products, except for the flowers.

I enlarged the photo so you can actually see the dry embossing:
UNEVEN EDGE: Die-cut the white card except for the fold side
EMBOSS IT: Cuttlebug dotted folder used on red striped paper
RED: Red striped paper

Some of the sentiments are so fun and sassy that you can't resist using them. All of the sentiments are part of the set of stamps in the "Cup of Coffee" stamp set and used together create this phrase:
"FRANKLY, My Dear, No matter HOW OLD we get, This is the OLDEST you've EVER been"

This is a Tic Tac Toe challenge month. I chose Yellow/ Friendship/Glitter to work with for this card focusing on the sentiment.

This is a "Yellow/Friendship/Glitter" card that I gave to a dear friend I don't see very often. She keeps them in her office. I am really happy with this card. I'm not normally a person who likes the color yellow, but I really did like this card. Now it's your turn to play Tic Tac Toe at Die Cut Divas.

Adding To My Christmas Card Stash

I wanted to enter the Christmas Kickstart Challenge this month and sometimes you just do need an idea to make things happen.  I had some wonderful rabbits from Jo in the U.K. that she sent me in the Card Chain Challenge and I quickly cut and colored them.  Next I grabbed a pre-cut Santa from my stash and colored him up.  I'd recently bought some slimline scenes from Whimsy stamps and found a scene that fit perfectly with my Santa and his friends, the rabbits.   Here is my interpretation of the challenge.

Close-up below.

I think it turned out to be a cute scene and I'm quite happy with it.

Supplies:
Whimsy Slimline Paper Pack - Frozen
Rubbernecker Santa Needs a Hug Die and Stamp
Copic markers
Vagabond die cut machine for the Santa

Thumbelina, You Are Amazing

World Wide Open Design Team Challenge

You MUST be a DT on any Design Team in the World to be eligible to enter this Challenge ~ New exception rule, this challenge is now open to any of Julia Spiri Facebook Members, and you are not required to be on a DT.

I think I probably do some things the opposite of what others might because I die-cut the image before I start coloring.   I like to know I'm not wasting my ink by coloring too much or not coloring enough and having to blend out a section I didn't color.  I usually print out multiple images and it also depends on the spacing between images as to the size and shape I'll make.

I used Copic markers on this cute image and thought it was be a great image to make a globe with.  I had some pre-stamped and die-cut sentiments so I could put the finishing touches on with the sentiments.

The challenge runs from May 15th through June 12th, Sydney Time Zone 7:00 a.m. or if you're in California, like me, The challenge starts on a Friday, May 14, at 2:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight.

Supplies:
Julia Spiri digital image "Thumbelina"
QuicKutz Nesting Circles
Sizzix Tim Holtz Snowglobe # 2 (base only)
Copic markers
Pre-cut sentiments from various stamp companies

Card Chain Challenge Reveal

I always try to join in the Card Chain Challenge (CCC) as it's so much fun to receive something in the mail!  You still have time to join in CCC for May.  The sign-up deadline is May 6th.  All entries will be revealed at CCC on the 2nd of June.

I chose the challenge of using die-cuts and I used lots of them for this summer "Fun in the Sun" card.  Maybe April was too soon to think of summer, but I couldn't stop thinking summer!

As you can see, there were a number of ways to challenge yourself to create a card to send by snail mail.

I am still on a "slimline High", so to speak.  I've pre-sponged panels and die-cut them for future uses.  While I'm inky, I like to work on more than one project or image.  I thought this Distress Oxide mix of colors was perfect for a beach scene of sun, palm trees and beach related paraphernalia  Having dies made for slimline cards saves a lot of time in trying to adapt other dies and gives a great finished appearance to a card.

Elizabeth Craft Designs dies Palm Trees Summer, Beach

I know this is a WINTER scene and swirling skies aren't usually swirling pink, but I couldn't help myself.  The colors really flowed liked spun sugar and I guess, I can imagine the background as spun sugar, going round and round.  Once I started, I couldn't stop spinning   I just received a die order and the petals beckoned to me, just the petals.  They seemed to be an other-worldly element.  I might actually make her into a more normal Winter scene the next time I print this lovely image out again.  .

Supplies:
Morgan's Artworld Winter 9 digital stamp
Elizabeth Craft Designs Postage Stamp Squares dies
Kat Scrappiness Never Ending Square Die
Poppy Stamps Meadow Flower (just the flower used)

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

Prize: $20 gift code
This is a Tic Tac Toe challenge month. I chose Emboss it/ Friendship/Blue to work with for this card focusing on the sentiment.

I chose a simple design with a birthday theme using this Bubbly Stencil. I stenciled the panel with Broken China distress ink, sponged Blue Print distress ink on paper and die-cut Awesome and friend from the paper. After I embossed (wet embossing) "Happy Birthday" on the card, I added the die-cuts. A few Nuvo drops completed the panel which I adhered to a white card sponged with broken china distress ink on about 1/4 inch on all sides.

Supplies:
Casual Fridays Stamps Bubbly Stencil
Casual Fridays Stamps Frankly'isms (happy birthday)
Casual Fridays Stamps Bubbly stencil
Casual Fridays Stamps Friend die (not in stock)

Kat Scrappiness Awesome Me die
