Happy Halloween and Fun to All

Cheapo Dies is the sponsor for Die Cut Divas, so if you want to make Thanksgiving cards, Christmas cards New Years Day, Halloween or even Valentine cards, come on and join the fun this last day of September.
I had worked on some backgrounds with the new Tim Holtz alcohol inks and used one of the backgrounds here.

I am not sure of all the colors I used, but I do love the effects of the metallics.   I used Elizabeth Craft Designs Postage Stamp Dies at Cheapo Dies for the card below.  I used clear Wink of Stella on all the houses, but I think I should have used black glitter paper.  I just didn't know what I wanted to do with my houses when I cut them out.  I cut off the odd shaped chimney from the top left side of this wonderful wonky Haunted House as well as shortened the house from the bottom.  It works here.

I hope you can see the plastic windows here.  I was able to keep all but the right steeple.

You can tell which window didn't retain the plastic window here.  I cut the plastic with the same die and the small windows didn't cut all the way through, which was what I wanted.

Next card, I also used a mixture of alcohol inks, but I made this background a couple years ago, using the older inks and pulling the paper through the mixture of colors on my mat.  I thought googly eyes and red moon (also from an alcohol ink sheet) would be an element of scariness to the scene.

I think the leaf here is from a Stampin Up stamp a friend lent me, while the moon is cut from the Die-namics STAX Pierced Circle dies.

In my last card, I used a beautiful background I made using the new Alcohol ink colors.  I love it.
I cut the rounded square QuicKutz  (Nesting Frame 4) dies on black glitter paper and a "party" die from Little B Handwritten die set.  I can't find these nesting dies anywhere now.  Since the windows in this house had such a great background, I just added Glossy Accents to the windows.

Supplies used on all cards:
Elizabeth Craft Designs Haunted House at Cheapo Dies
Wink of Stella, clear
Alcohol Inks based backgrounds (two with the new colors that came out this year)

Enjoy!

A Face Book Hero Arts Scramble

There's a scramble going on and I made this card in 90 minutes including taking the photo and uploading with a short description.  This week’s scramble challenge is to use 2 or more different Hero Arts stamp sets on 1 card or tag.

If you've ever participated in a Hero Arts Scramble on Flickr, you'll probably want to visit our group on Face Book at https://www.facebook.com/groups/375732203141407.  It is a private group.

I started off die-cutting a piece of white paper and used Distress Oxide ink Spiced Marmalade on the Star Burst Background. I hand cut the message and flying ship after inking them up with Frayed Burlap. I colored parts of the ship with Copic markers. I used Copic Markers R20 and R22, but didn't like the R20 color so colored over that with Y38 and got the perfect color I wanted. I sprayed the card with an ink blend I made with Splash (yellow) and Sheer Shimmer Spritz (Frost) and Nuvo Drops to spark it up a bit.

Supplies:
Hero Arts Star Burst Background
Hero Arts Messages (3 large messages)
Hero Arts Flying Air Ships (3 air ships)
Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Rectangles

3 Copic markers R20, R22 Y38
Nuvo Crystal Drops - Gloss - Ripened Pumpkin and Red Berry
An ink blend I made with Splash (yellow)
Sheer Shimmer Spritz (Frost)

Kicking Christmas Off With White Tonight

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #38 - White on White

I've not entered this challenge before, but I need all the ideas I can get for something new and I'm quite pleased with the card.  I'm entering the challenge and how about joining me in the fun at Christmas Kickstart Challenge # 38.

I think a polar bear should be white and he fits the scene in front of an igloo with a bright red cap on.  I think the sentiment "Brrrrrrr" suits this wintry scene.  I love how the card sparkles too.  The snow mounds are from the Beach Edges die set.

Supplies:
Rubbernecker "Slimline Clouds die"
Elizabeth Craft Designs dies "Brrrrrrr", Polar Bear, Igloo and Beach Edges
Copic marker R27
Sheer Shimmer Spritz - Frost
Nuvo Crystal Drops - Gloss - Simply White
Vagabond die-cut machine

Card Chain Challenge Reveal for September

I may have been too Christmasy in making my card, but I couldn't get "hot chocolate" out of my mind.   Here are the choices I had for making my card for the Card Chain Challenge.

I went with shaped card and a happy "Smile".  I used a Cuttlebug cardboard that holds two "B" plates for the Cuttlebug from ages ago.  I love the design.  I hope my CCC friend likes it too.

Wouldn't that mug be great as a Christmas tag?  Just wondering...

It was fun to make and made me want to make Xmas cards.
Supplies:
Elizabeth Craft Design Hot Chocolate Dies
Elizabeth Craft Design Smile Die
Distress Ink Antique Linen
Scrap paper
Vagabond dies

Spending Time with Julia Spiri Stamps

I'm a Guest DT at the World Wide Open Design Team challenge and I have the cutest bandit EVER!

You MUST be a DT on any Design Team in the World to be eligible to enter this Challenge ~ New exception rule, this challenge is now open to any of Julia Spiri Facebook Members, and you are not required to be on a DT.

The challenge runs from September 15th through October 12th, Sydney Time Zone 7:00 a.m. or if you're in California, like me, that's on Thursday, September 14, 2:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight.

I think you could dress this kitty up any way you want and it is going to turn out perfect. I found the background first for this card and that determined my color choices.  A few stars and a "you're" die were all I thought this card needed.

I'm sending this card to my oldest son's family just because we haven't see each other over 6 months.  They're all worth #100,000 to me.

I hope you enjoyed these bandit cards.  This is quite a delightful image and so easy to color.

You can find this wonderful Julia Spiri Bandit Cat here.  So many opportunities for you to enjoy Julia Spiri's art.

I just love how this scene turned out.  I had always put off coloring this because of the all grays, however, I am pleased that I could make as much variation in color as I did.  I used all the cool grays I had (C0 through C6).  I copied the image into Word and added the text boxes.  I thought this wording fit the image.  I used some ephemera from Elizabeth Crafts and a black velvet ribbon to add more interest.  I hope you like this too.   Morgan has a lot of teddy bears here, but this one wasn't up yet, but don't despair, you will find something you like.  Be sure to visit Creative Art Design Studio.

Cheapo Dies at Die Cut Divas

Cheapo Dies is the sponsor for Die Cut Divas, so if you want to make Thanksgiving cards, Christmas cards or even Valentine cards, come on and join the fun this month here.

What holidays do you celebrate?  New Years Day, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, July 4th, Halloween, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas?   If we don't recognize the holiday, please tell us in your post what holiday you made your project for.

Cheapo Dies has increased their inventory with the addition of well  known die brands like Elizabeth Craft Designs, Memory Box, Sizzix, Hero Arts, PoppyStamps, Lawn Fawn and a whole lot more.  Be sure to check Cheapo Dies out here.

I'm going with Valentines Day.  I so rarely make Valentine cards that I decided I should use my wonderful heart die from Elizabeth Craft.  However, I did not find this die in the shop at this time, however I did find some beauties.  As a matter of fact, I found 28 pages of beautiful heart dies, so be wild and find your hearts at Cheapo Dies.

I die-cut the letters from white glitter paper, painted them with R35, which ended up too light, but went back over the letters with R29.  I thought the white heart needed something, so used a light R marker, but made a booboo, so darkened up the booboo at the bottom of the heart and feel it could go unnoticed.
