Franks A Lot With Sunny Studio

Yes the Title of my Post today really is "Franks A Lot" and you'll see why when you see my card.  This is the last day to enter the Sunny Studio sponsored challenge at Die Cut Divas.

It's been all about making those slimline cards.

I've had a load of fun designing, coloring and finally making the card below. Be sure to enter the challenge at Die Cut Divas.

The Crusin' Cuisine stamp set has SO many stamps from those teeny, tiny stamps used on the food trucks to the size of the "Franks" stamp.  I took my time in laying out the scene, making sure the windows in the trucks matched the outside.  I used a Copic marker to ink up the outside trim on the slimline scallop.  Hope you have fun with your stamping and coloring too!

Supplies:
Sunny Studio Cruisin' Cuisine stamps (includes all sentiment, trucks & eats)
Sunny Studio Cruisin' Cuisine matching dies (includes truck and edibles)
Clouds from older dies in my stash
Copic markers on both sky and die-cuts
Vagabond die cut machine

My First Card for the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Hop

I have a busy week, so hopefully, this will not be my first card, but my last card for the hop.  It's my favorite time of the year and I don't even drink coffee.

When:  Friday, March 19, 2021 – Friday, March 26, 2021

Where: Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Hop

I was looking for something that was cute and didn't take a lot of time to color.  The black striped paper is from a set of striped cards that I cut in half.  I thought it was perfect and didn't want to add anything else to clash with the stripes.

Supplies:
  • Whimsy Some Odd Girl Digital Collection - Coffee Lover Mae
  • Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Rectangles
  • Copic markers
  • I think it's a Hero Arts sentiment as I stamped & cut several sentiments to keep on hand
  • papers in my stash
  • Vagabond die cut machine
I am entering the following challenges:

Card Chain Challenge Snail Mail

What, oh what should I do?  Lots of choices.  See below - ALL those choices!

I chose Paper Piecing and I really love the way this card turned out.  I've had about 1/2 sheet of this designer paper (used for the doll) for a LONG time and finally was able to use most of it for the dress and boots of this Julie Nutting gal, Megan.  I cut both doll and dress by hand.

I can't believe this paper worked out so well.  The entire dress is from one cut and the semi-foiled boots from another spot in the same paper.  The butterfly is left over (actually hanging out on my Ott-Lite) from a project for my daughter-in-law posted on my blog November 7, 2019.

Supplies:
Prima Julie Nutting doll stamp Megan
Kat Scrappiness Slimline Diamond Wire & Wood Grain Frame Die
Butterfly by Echo Park and Silhouette cut on my Cameo die cut machine
Slimline die - I can't find the original wrapping for the patterned paper die-cut
Hello! stamp - maybe Hero Arts ?  I have a bunch of cut-out sentiments in stash
Patterned papers in stash
Copic markers for the hair and skin tones
Cameo machine for the butterfly

Julia Spiri in Snail Mail Too

World Wide Open Design Team Challenge

You MUST be a DT on any Design Team in the World to be eligible to enter this Challenge ~ New exception rule, this challenge is now open to any of Julia Spiri Facebook Members, and you are not required to be on a DT.

I found myself drawn to a cute kitty in an old style aviator's suit.  The image so reminded me of mail flying around the world that I added the sentiment "Snail Mail is Good Too" to the image in Word.  Instead of popping it up, I like keeping the card one layer to easily accommodate anything else I wish to enclose with the card.  If I'm sending something to a crafty friend, I can enclose some die-cuts and such without worrying about extra postage.  I hope you like this cute guy and try coloring him or her.

The challenge runs from March 15th through April 12th, Sydney Time Zone 7:00 a.m. or if you're in California, like me, The challenge starts on a Sunday, February14, at 2:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight.

Warm Wishes

I'm making this card with Christmas Kickstart Challenge in mind to use green in the card.  I couldn't believe I had just the right card surface.  I absolutely love this Santa, such the classic and classy guy.  I had stamped and die-cut a bunch of sentiments from "Thank you" to "Warm Wishes", so I didn't have to do much.

I typed up the "Naughty or Nice?" and moved the sentiment in front of the digital Santa in Word, colored with Copics and hand-cut the Santa.  I love this Santa and hope you do too.

Supplies:
Whimsy digital Classic Santa (handcut)
Sentiments pre-cut in my stash using ECD Stitched Rectangles & QuicKutz retangles
Copic markers
Vagabond die cut machine
Folded Card from 5 or so years ago in stash

My inspiration card for the beginning of the "Anything Goes" challenge at Morgan's Artworld:

I thought she looked rather somber and so my skin tone and bodice colors are rather dark.  I used multi-liners to detail the gown and headdress and couldn't pass up the Nuvo drops for the flowers and a couple spots on the butterfly.  Wanting something different to frame this image, I searched for something different and found a rarely used die, though I've had it for years.

Supplies:
Morgan's Artworld Fantasy Fae 54 - not available at this time.
Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles dies
Papers in stash
Nuvo Crystal Drops Metallic - Autumn Red
Copic markers
Copic Multi-liners Cobalt 0.3 & 0.5

Have a Sunny Day With Sunny Studio

There's a new challenge at Die Cut Divas sponsored by Sunny Studio Stamps.  Check out Die Cut Divas to enter their "Slimline Card" challenge for March.

Winner will receive a $15 gift card from Sunny Studio Stamps

I used two die sets to make my scene. It reminds me of going camping up at my parents' campsite outside of Truckee, California on weekends. My kids had a ball.

The camper and two sentiments come with the Happy Camper stamp set while the die set comes with the tree and camper (no stamp for the trees, but you don't need a tree stamp). I sponged distress inks for a background. Sounds pretty simpler, right? But you know how long it takes to get things the way you want them.

Supplies:
Sunny Studio Happy Camper Stamps
Copic markers
Distress Inks broken china, lucky clover and mermaid lagoon
Vagabond die cut machine

I'm entering the following challenges:
We Love 2 Create  Distress oxide inks, die-cuts & Copic markers
Creatalicious  (AG) # 206 - I did not use the Option "I got the Blues"
