Love is in the Air, la la la...

Don't ask me how I think up my titles, but I will tell you that when I looked at the photo upon setting up the photo, that's the FIRST thing that came to my mind - "Love is in the Air".  I have a weird sense of humor.  Have a fun day and be sure to treasure it.

You can't always do Happy

You can't always do Happy, but I needed to create some cards for a couple of co-workers, which turned out quite well, I think.
This first card is a sympathy card for a friend at work whose mother passed away.  For work cards, I just fold an 8" X 11" piece of card stock in half and use that as my canvas.  That's what I did on the first and second cards here.

I like blues and especially when doing masculine cards.  I just let the paper speak for itself.

Elizabeth Craft Designs Big Flower Set 1
Elizabeth Craft Designs Garden Patch - 1 1/2" & Mini Roses
The flowers are made from a regular tissue box
Die-namics Stitched Tred Tag Stax
Light blue colored gems
BoBunny papers
Folded white card stock (8 1/2" X 11" folded in half)

It's rather hard to see this inlay - THINKING OF YOU - It looks much better in person because you can see the indented printing better.  A card for co-workers to sign for a friend who was attacked on the bike trail and has his jaw wired shut for 6 weeks
Elizabeth Craft Designs Garden Patch - 1 1/2" & Mini Roses  I took the inchies that were cut by the Garden Patch die on the top card (BoBunny has two sided paper) and arranged by in tri-angles for a background.  Some of the squares are not lined up as well as others, but they are covered by giant butterflies to hide any flaws.

Folded white card stock (8 1/2" X 11" folded in half)

This card is for the same person who was attacked.  This will be from our Toastmasters group.

 Elizabeth Craft Designs Beach Edges
Ellentina Cutting Dies Class Collection bicycles (DCT006 & DC007)
BoBunny paper & other scrap papers
Hero Arts Everyday Sayings CL342 - an oldie but a goodie group of sayings

I hop you like these cards.  I thought those inchies would come in handy.

The CCC Exchange

I exchange cards on my good friend, Deborah Nolan's blog, Society of Stampaholics and you have until Monday July 5th to sign up for July's big exchange.

However, my card is for the June exchange and my partner has received her card.  It takes a few weeks to get to Spain.  I couldn't help but send this card.  I used "bling" on the card as part of the June challenge.

I cut the Hero Arts "hello" and the image of the vintage woman silhouette with my CAMEO and found she needed a soft background with some depth.  I used a Cuttlebug "James Set" to emboss the background.  I added some pearls (colored a couple with a black Copic marker to give it some interest.

Land of Sunshine

I had just finished this card when I checked my emails and saw that a2z Scrapbooking was having a design team call.  YEAH!

Until fairly recently, I had no idea a2z Scrapbooking sold Hero Arts stamps.  When I visited a couple of Hero Arts enthusiasts' blogs, I wondered what this a2z Scrapbooking was all about.  I thought the name was catchy..  When I visited the website I was "in love" of course.

My oldest Hero Arts stamp is from 1995 and my latest is from last week.  Yes, I do indulge and encourage others to get personal and confidential with Hero Arts products.  A stamp or ink is not far away from my hand.

You can find me on Facebook and Pinterest as Arlene Pagent McClung and definitely part of the first group of people to hang out at the Flickr Hero Arts group as Clarian's Hawk * Arlene.  I do most of the communication with the Die Cut Divas' sponsors from initial contact to followups and re-bookings.  I am grateful for the Design team in helping with sponsors and keeping up to date on their postings.  What's even better is that I also get to create and have fun too.

I would definitely love to be an a2Z scrapbooking DT.  It would keep me more involved with creating and producing cards or projects made with some of my favorite stamps and products

I am giving this card to a friend at work who needs some sunshine in his life.  He commented to a fellow co-worker that he hoped his wife lived to see their granddaughter graduate high school in two years.  I think a little sunshine will help.

Cute as a Bug

Bugaboo says June Bug and so do I.  I really love how this turned out.  I even had fun coloring BUGS!  I wondered if I'd overdone the gray on the letters, but I'm ok with it.  The more bugs, the merrier!

I think this would be perfect for a little girl.  I think of my granddaughter when I look at this image.  She's just cute as a bug.

Hero Arts - My Favorite Color is RED!

SECOND POST FOR TODAY

Are you playing Tic Tac Toe with Hero Arts?

Do you like to play A2Z Scrapbooking Supplies challenges?

That's what I'm playing today.Hero Arts Tic Tac Toe Challenge here
The A2Z Scrapbooking challenge called to me to do a card for a second member of our staff who is retiring  in July.  That was a surprise.  I wanted to make a personal card for her and will make a larger card for everyone to sign.  She likes flowers and likes bright colors.  Red's my favorite color, followed closely by blue.

My card - yes it's bright.

I haven't used this background stamp in quite some time and I don't know why I don't.  It's spectacular every time I use it.  You really can't go wrong with this background.  I clear embossed the background and rubbed a Hero Arts ink cube (Red Royal) over the top and wiped off as much of the ink on the clear as I could without wetting the cloth.  I didn't want the white to pop out on the background and even though the background is busy, it stays where it should, in the background.

A2Z Scrapbooking Supplies challenge for June HERE is all about "NEW BEGINNING!, new babies, graduations, weddings, or homes.  There MUST be at least ONE MAIN HERO ARTS product.

Retirement - a new beginning

I made two cards this weekend to post today.  This post is all about one of the people I work with, who is retiring.  He's definitely looking forward to it.  He rides motorcycles, though not so much anymore, but he and his wife ride bicycles too.

Here's my card.

I've never used a bus before in a card, but this seemed an appropriate symbol.  AND it HUGE!  I usually make cards for large groups to sign by folding an 8 1/2" by 11" piece of cardstock in half.  I needed a large image.  I recently bought some Hero Arts digital ikits from A2Z Scrapbooking Supplies and thought I could do some entertaining things with it.  I'm happy with this card, blue for the sky, a piece of white for the road, yellow die cut sun and some white fluffy clouds to continue the good feeling.  The license plate has Ed... for his journey from work to retirement.  I touched the bus up with a Copic marker (Boooo) for some shading, rather than so much white.  I think I used Y19 on the big headlights and Y21 on the lower lamps.

This turned out to be a great masculine card.

I'm entering the A2Z scrapbooking challenge of "Something New".

Supplies
Hero Arts City Adventure digital (bus enlarged to fit across 8 1/4 inches on card)

Love the Puppy!

I couldn't help but make two cards with this delightful puppy image from Bugaboo.  This is my second card, the first card was on June first.

You can buy this image pre-colored or you can color it in as I did above.  I really liked the sky that is in the colored image, so I modeled my sky after theirs.  Such a cutie.  This is also the card I sent to my partner at Society of Stampaholics.  I love the idea of everyone meeting together as friends, instead of enemies.
