This image is titled Giraffe with sad Eyes.  They are sad.  I really fell in love with this image at first sight.  I know it seems rather plain, but I printed out some images of live giraffes so I could color this in a realistic way.  I think I succeeded.  I did, however, not think about the rest of the giraffe's neck until I had it all matted and made into a card.  I think I could have completed the spots on down the neck, but I'm taking an artist's liberties and NOT giving this giraffe more spots.

I wanted to make sure the shading was dappled and that's just what I did - I dappled.

Notes and Dates for An Anything Goes Challenge

I'm definitely out of my comfort zone with a card full of digitals.   Sometimes you have a friend who doesn't quite remember events, it's time to send a fun card as a reminder.  I've got the card.  A2Z Scrapbooking has the digitals.  I couldn't quite stick with one kit.  I usually print out a bunch of images that I pop into and re-size on Word.  I may cut them all out, either with that good old friend, scissors or a die cut machine.  I did both here.  Check out all the digital kits I used below in my supply list.

Please join us in this month’s "Anything Goes" challenge for your chance at a free digital stamp AND, if you used Hero Arts, a $20 gift card to our Hero Arts store. Our current monthly challenge can always be found in the menu bar, and runs from the 1st to last day of the month

A2Z Anything Goes Again with Butterflies & Spirals

Are you on social media? We are! Please join us on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook? so you don't miss any fun promotions or new challenge announcements!
Hero Arts Monthly Challenge

This is one of the few times I have not used a die cut machine, but I wanted a simple one layer card and used a monochrome color scheme.  I hadn't tried this technique of just putting a long post-it through a card and inking up the rest of the card in a long time and I like how this turned out.   I didn't want a long sentiment, so I searched for and found a short sentiment to go with the lovely soft butterfly.

Magnolias

I usually don't order flowers, but I ordered the Flowering Magnolia in a new release and I really like the simple look and feel of this image.  I went for the almost white of a magnolia petal.  I knew I wanted a darker background that would make the flower the focal point.

A2Z Stampbooking has a great challenge for you to enter, Anything Goes.  Please have fun and join.

Die Cut Divas has a New Challenge

The challenge is to submit a project which is monochrome in color.  Thank you to Cheapo Dies for their sponsorship.  You can find the Die Cut Divas' post right here.

Cheapo Dies

Cheapo Dies is offering a $15 gift certificate,
 which goes a long way.

For my card, I used soft cream to dark yellow tones.

This is a rather untraditional monochromatic yellow scene.  While this is not a Cheapo Die, Cheapo Dies has a wonderful lighthouse scene for you to try.here as well as dotted rectangle dies here.  I'm afraid the true colors of the panel that seems to be white with some red tones is not white, but is sponged fossilized amber.  This is much prettier in person.  But I hope this gives you an idea of using monochromatic colors.
