Playing Around With Hero Arts Is Always A Pleasure

Hero Arts is the February sponsor for Die Cut Divas and the theme is Hearts and Flowers. The challenge link is right here.
The challenge ends at 9:00 p.m. Pacific (San Francisco)

The prize is a $24 gift certificate to the Hero Arts store.

I used Flower Garden Fancy Die and the Thanks Stamp and Cut for today's inspiration.  I didn't use the entire Flower Garden Fancy die-cut.  I cut the die, mostly following the natural foliage.   I love the versatility of this die.

My New Favorite Hero Arts Die

Almost Leap Day., but I couldn't pass up creating a card with my new Hero Arts "favorite" die right now.  When I saw it in the catalog, I knew I just had to have it and ordered it right away.  It is sold out right now as I think everyone else in Hero Arts land had to have it too.  I can imagine this die being used for almost any occasion from sympathy to wedding.

First I die-cut both glossy and regular card stock with the same size Stitched Rectangle dies.  I then took the card stock and die-cut the paper with the Window on the Garden Fancy Die.    I left the top panel white and sponged oxide distress inks on the glossy piece of white card stock.  I spritzed with water and dabbed it off with a tissue to create texture.   I glued the pieces together and chose a deep grape color note card to glue the panels to.  Minimal decoration and I'm finished.

Flowers All Over My Heart

I thought I'd combine flowers with a heart card and I do love the look, just a pop of color from the die-cut (a beautiful blue glittery paper) is all it needed.   The heart is 3.76" X 3.32".

I glued the flower die onto the paper first and then die-cut the largest heart of my set.  I die-cut the "thanks" sentiment and glued it to the heart flower card base.    I also die-cut another heart, put it on my scoring board and scored the heart panel about 1/2 inch from the top, making sure the fold was flat by pressing my bone folder on the fold.  I glued the finished top to the 1/2 inch folded heart top, lining up the panels and pressing to seal the panels.  It's really a much easier card than my description makes it.

Here I used an Altenew Heart die, the Hero Arts largest heart is 4.66 X 4.11" and your card would be much larger.

Shouting Out To My CCC Recipient, Dawn Turley

If you haven't heard of The Card Chain Challenge and you like to give as well as receive cards, you might consider joining in on the fun for March.   I had made some cards with the Hero Arts Flower Garden Fancy Die and had a few extra things on my desk when I was trying to think about how I wanted to do a card for my friend, Dawn T.  I had given up, but had taken one more glance at the challenge.  I had propped myself on a pillow when this very design popped into my head.  The design was in my mind, but the heart replaced the circle and I saw SCORE LINES in my design.  Well, needless to say, I was ready to go.

Picture shows the die cut beneath the card and the envelope on the left bottom edge of the card.  I took a left-over die-cut piece and sponged worn lipstick distress ink over the top to decorate the front of the envelope.

I die-cut two layers of black cardstock and the top layer of black glitter paper and glued all of them together.  Simple, but I really like it.  I hope Dawn does too!

Bingo Challenge at Bugaboo

I know I'm late in making Valentine cards, but better late then never.

I have been trying to use each die I've received before they become old dies that have never been used.  I never even opened the package from a couple months ago until now.

I'm entering the Bugaboo challenge at Catch the Bug Challenge.  For the challenge, I chose the bottom straight across (Dots/Stripes, Pearl and Flower) for the challenge.  I hope my Nuvo Drops count as dots.

I used a Elizabeth Craft Designs (ECD) die, put some Nuvo drops in the middle of the small flowers and pearls in the middle of the larger flowers.  I didn't realize how large this die was until I purchased it.  WOW  It becomes the card.  Beautiful, really just lovely.  I used an ECD sentiment "Dream" cut from red glitter paper.

These are so easy to make, that I did an assembly line  Two (as Valentine cards) are going to my daughter-in-law and granddaughter.  One is a birthday card going to a dear friend.

You Too Can Join The Card Chain Challenge

If you love to send and/or receive cards, you should join us at The Card Chain Challenge.  People who love to make cards can have that homemade card feeling of appreciation on receiving their own card from a fellow card maker.

I reveled my last card on January 31st, but I am going to show it here too so you have an idea of what we may be sending to each other.  There are three challenges and you don't have to use all three.  I used the "die" challenge.  There are always choices/options on what you want to do for your challenge; color, sketch, theme or product/technique.  Friendship is always an option under the theme choices.

On this card, I chose two options to work with, dies and friendship.

I copied this blurb below so you can see when you can join the fun and when the reveal will be.  I hope to see you at The Card Chain Challenge.

"Next Two Challenges
Hey, Gentle Readers, if you want to join in the fun, you can sign up for the February Card Chain Challenge until 6th February. All cards exchanged will be revealed here on 2nd March 2020.

The March Card Chain Challenge sign-up begins on 7th February and ends on 6th March. All cards exchanged in that challenge should arrive at their destinations by March 31st and will be revealed here on 2nd April, 2020."

Hero Arts with Hearts and Flowers

Hero Arts is the February sponsor for Die Cut Divas and the theme is Hearts and Flowers. The challenge link is right here.

The prize is a $24 gift certificate to the Hero Arts store.

to create her card.  The Flower Garden die is so easy to cut with and the flowers and leaves just drop in your hand with little effort.  That's hard to say sometimes.  Often a large sentiment will feel too big, but here, it just fits perfectly.  The coloring was fairly quick and missing a spot here or there is really no big thing, as it looks great even if you didn't blend a lot or missed a spot.  I popped a little heart on the bottom right, not too big, not too small, just right.

I do have to tell you that I CASED the card here.  The cards are below the die.
