End of Year Season's Greetings

Last Day of the year and Die Cut Divas is thanking Dies R Us for it's sponsorship. Be sure to check Die Cut Divas blog out here.
Dies R Us

I have not used the Birch Trees dies very much at all, so it was time to put a scene together.  I liked the idea of a dark Water Blue or Sky Blue as a background for a forest of white birch trees. There are two layers of beach edges faking it as snow banks where I poked trees in  so that there are actually three layers of trees, a couple on the panel with the truck, several more under that panel and more under the layer against the blue card.  The truck is entirely made of a heavy shiny cardstock that I have no idea where I got it.  This is such a neat truck too.  I thought Red hub caps worked here too.

Die Cut Divas' Let It Snow

Join the Die Cut Divas for the Winter challenge here.

I've worked with some different dies (for me) and I have enjoyed putting them together to make a composite I do like.  I took the corner die-cut and laid it over the ornament and used it as a stencil, dabbing the distress paint onto the ornament.  I thought that would tie everything together.  Visit us at Die Cut Divas for more samples and to join in on the challenge for December.

Hero Arts Words of Love 2017

Lets check out some words of love and how they can be used to make someone feel loved, such as in a card.  I popped the balloon and Love sentiment and I believe it is unusual and crisp.  I like it.

Visit A2Z Scrapbooking to enter the challenge and to see all the wonderful stamps and digital kits.

A Hero Arts Tree-Mendous Day

I was thinking stripes and modern for today's card, but went with a traditional red and green color palette.
I thought striped trees should sit on a striped background.  I think my card has a modern feel.  I striped the background on the bottom half of the card, popped the trees up and dotted between the lines with Nuvo Crystal Drops and completed the card with a simple sentiment on top.  Almost a CAS card.

Winter time at Morgan's ArtWorld

Head on over to the Morgan's ArtWorld blog to enter the challenge of Anything Goes.  You don't have to use a Winter image, but I couldn't help it.

Every time I look at an image and love to color it, I think "That's my favorite image" and this time is no different.

Winter images come and go, but this is a classic image and each time I choose a different color combo, I can't help but like each and every one and want to call it my favorite.  I think she's a pretty frosty girl and quite lovely.

Hero Arts LOVE in a Card

This is the third card I've made with the Kitchen Silhouette kit.  The other two cards have coffee cup backgrounds, but here, I took the word LOVE and made a black and white background.  I cut out the letters for my focal point and colored them in.  I used the Hero Arts digital Kit at A2Z Scrapbooking for this card.

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop Second Day

Friday, December 8 - Friday, December 15, 2017

Join the Winter Coffee Lovers Bloghop with me.

This is the second card I've made with this Hero Arts digital kit at A2Z Scrapbooking because I couldn't make just one page with the cup background after I printed it out.  I made a larger collection of background cups and also printed that page out.  I made three cards and this is the second in that series of backgrounds.

This is how I created the colors in Word:

In Word, I copied the cups in different sizes to see what I liked.  I then went to colors (2010 Word, Colors is located under Format) and found the color and and this cool design.  Perfect.  I found another light color for some background cups.  I liked this background so much, I created a second page of this background.  It really does give me an icy feel to the card.

Up-cycling a Tree

Hi there, I'm subbing in for Dawn B today at the Die Cut Divas..

Dies R Us

Dies R Us is our sponsor and you could win a $10 gift certificate on a random draw of entries to the Winter Challenge this month,at Die Cut Divas. I die cut this tree with several others a year ago and now's the time to use this beautiful tree die cut.  I like to make something used into something new and this tree is cut from a tissue box that my friends from work saved for me.  I doubt that you would have known the origin of my tree unless I told you.  And no one would know this is a tissue box on the card itself.  I am pretty proud of the fact that I re-use many things that would just be put in the re-cycle without going through a re-use first.

To make the Window Frame, I left the frame in the die and dropped the glue onto the panels. I put the upside down frame about 1/2 inch from the edge of my desk.  I turned the card front upside down on top of the frame and pressed the card onto the die, lifted up and my frame was attached to the card in a perfect frame.   I left the center cuts out because I thought it would frame the tree better.

Close-up below.  The paper is that shiny.

Winter Coffee Loving Blog Hop

Friday, December 8 - Friday, December 15, 2017

I love this challenge because I rarely work with coffee products in my creations.  I do love Tea and most of my friends are tea lovers.  Some do love their coffee.  I don't have that many coffee, chocolate or tea  stamps or digitals to work with, but the Hero Arts digital Kits at A2Z Scrapbooking has saved the day.  My card is up today on A2Z Scrapbooking today and A2Z Scrapbooking supports the Coffee Lovers Bloghop.  Go check it out.

I chose some glitter papers to die cut and went for it.  A couple Nuvo Crystal Drops Simply White drops went in the middle of the stars.  The inside of the cups is colored first with B21 and then colored over with BG23.

A Natural Christmas with Hero Arts

Time to Make It Pop with some popping Christmas Cards.  I layered my card and this was NOT in my comfort zone, but I am very happy with it.  I began with a simple image and die cut it in the postage stamp shape.  All I did was cut mostly brown & burgundy colored patterned papers.  I'm happy with it, rather a natural type of card with music and joy.

A Close up to see the layers and Nuvo dots.
