Would you believe this is a Christmas image?

I have several favorites, but this beautiful lady is, I think, my very favorite of all time.  She is timeless.  I've used many color combinations, but had never tried yellows, browns and oranges, wonderful warm Autumn colors.  The more I colored, the more the colors seemed to lead me to the next.  I'm sure many of you can relate.  My marvelous Christmas Lady is a natural Autumn Lady too.

How I colored This Image

Last day of September and Die's Digis stamps sponsorship of Die Cut Divas.  You still have time to join in the challenge right here

I thought I'd show you how I color and how things change from the beginning to the end.  I'm going to share a set of pictures where I started coloring an image and took photos at different stages of development of the entire card.

I kept a list of all the colors, but after getting organized with my new cabinet, I have unfortunately lost my list of colors.  I am part of a Toastmaster's club and made a Powerpoint to show how I make my cards and color in the images, so I was not as intent on tracking the colors.  Sorry, guys.  But I'll show you the progression from black and white to final card.

I started coloring the second mouse.

I moved from mice to a tube of paint and the paint hanging off the brush.

I'm just about finished here.

I thought an ombre sky effect would give an appearance of watercolor just to make this fun.

Finally, my finished card.

Di's Monty Mouse

Die Cut Diva's challenge is "Free Time" and the sponsor for the September is Di's Digi Stamps.  Check out the challenge here.

Arlene here. and I found the cutest little mouse at Di's Digis one day and have never used it until now.  I thought this mouse was so cute, really just adorable.  I like the extra flowers, but now that I'm looking at the Nuvo drops, I think fewer would have been better.  But the mouse is still adorable.  What do you think?

A2Z Scrapbooking and Poetic Petals

I don't know if you're like me, but sometimes I'll go through older cards and pull them apart, toss something I'm not happy with, and make a new card with part of an older card.   Whatever was on the front is long gone and I thought this would make a good Fall card.  I printed the petals out, colored this goodie here and decided to fussy cut the petal to put against the black and brown panel so the petals would pop.  Be sure to visit A2Z Scrapbooking here.

Di's Digi's Free Time

The sponsor for the September Challenge is Di's Digi Stamps.  Check out the challenge here.

I wanted to use two new dies with this wonderful digital image.  I used three different stamps, "a note to say hello, Good Times and an anchor on the top panel.  I cut the bear image out and adhered him on the bottom panel.  It was such fun coloring this bear and I thought he should have that "5 o-clock shadow" look since he's having a snooze.  That's how it feels to me.

Thinking of Hero Arts Tiger Lily

Be sure to check A2Z Scrapbooking for the challenge this month.  You can't do better than an "Anything Goes" challenge, now, can you?

Tiger Lily 9-19-19

I think I sponged Mustard Seed distress ink through the stencil on the entire background panel.  I had created this flower more than a year ago and knew I wanted to use it this month with my newly created lilies for this month.  I wanted a more CAS style card, but with the flower popping off the page.  I quite like the style which is entirely different from my other tiger lily cards this month.  My first card was posted on our A2Z September 1st post and the second card on the September 3rd post.
I think most stencils such as the Hero Arts Scrollwork stencil would work well with this flower.  It's a simple design that can be repeated over and over again.

I used a similar design and background on the card below September 1, 2018.

A2Z Scrapbooking Poetic Flower

Join the A2Z Scrapbooking challenge of Anything Goes.  That's the greatest thing since Stamping, almost.

I used a similar written background on a card here.   I had printed everything right side up on that card.  You can see that I somehow copied the "Play in the Sunshine" and turned it upside down, not realizing it until I printed it.  I still saved it and I'm using it now.  I think the flower helps cover that part of the message enough that it won't be noticeable when I give the card to a "one of a kind" friend.  That's my reasoning, anyway, and I'm going to stick with it!

Previous card on June 11, 2018 where I printed everything right side up.

A2Z Scrapbooking Tiger Lily is Much Appreciated

I really like heat embossing the last layer on this tiger lily in white.  I know it's not a natural look, but it's quite riveting in real life.  The flower becomes the stunning focus on the card.  So happy to share this flower with you.

Be sure to join in on the fun at A2Z Scrapbooking

You know that feeling when you know something came together just right, just the way you wanted?  That's what happened here.

New Challenge Day at Die Cut Divas

Die Cut Divas' sponsor for September is Di's Digi Stamps and I've used a pre-colored image to which I added some more color and created a snow globe effect.  This was my first try on the snow globe and it may not be perfect, but I think it's rather cool.

The prize for September's winner will be a $6.00 voucher to Di's Digi Stamps.

The September Challenge is "Free Fun Time".  You got it.  What do you do with your free time that is fun for you?  I have a friend who makes the most fabulous quilts and has sewn for many years.  It's relaxing for her and I wanted to create a card for her and an inspiration for Die Cut Divas.

I shaded the globe to make it appear to be glass, my first attempt with coloring a globe.  I am taking the monthly classes at Kit and Clowder to develop my coloring and with practice, I will do even better.  It's better looking in real life, so that's a good thing.  I also cut 3 more butters to glue dot on the card.  I shaded the thread a bit darker too and added some "snow" with a Uni-ball Signo white pen.

A little more light on the card.

Supplies:
Di's Digi Stamp Stitched for you col . You can use the B&W version here
Elizabeth Craft Designs Thinking of You Stand Up Helper
Copic markers for the glass - B91, B00 & BG10 blending with 9
Copic multi-line .03 (lines on snowglobe base which is a scrap of dull silver)
Uni-ball Signo white pen
