Taking a Balloon Ride

Time for making those guy cards and usually I can't think of anything, however I thought a hot air balloon might be just the thing.  It looks rather like Halloween, but that was not my intention.  It'll still be a guy card to me.

A Sled For You

I know it's only September and too soon for sledding, but I thought this would make some boy happy, maybe some older boy whose birthday was near winter and he received the key to the car.  Maybe?   Whichever, I thought a blue and yellow card was the combo for me.

I die-cut the sled parts and used floss for the reins for the sled.  I've pulled apart twine so it would fit in the holes too.  Whatever you decide to use, use something, because there is a greater impact and enjoyment of the finished sled with some kind of reins.

A Bit of Viking with Morgan's ArtWorld

It's challenge time at Morgan's ArtWorld and "ANYTHING GOES" for you to join in the fun.  I love spending time coloring and there are so many wonderful images to choose.  I had used only the central image of this digital and I loved how it turned out, but this time I went for the whole image.  This image is so defined and so well sketched.  I can't say enough about it.

The black panel was created by stamping Hero Arts white unicorn ink onto a black shiny paper using a Hero Arts stamp from a few years back "Chalk Background". This was the second stamping, the first stamping delivers more white to the background.  I thought the darker background complemented the image better.

Close up of the central image.
I colored the central image's hair in warm grays, while focusing on metal with the cool grays.

CASE a DT at A2Z Scrapbooking With a Vintage Look

Delia made a scrapbook page using the Vintage Travel Digital stamps.on her post here.  I cased this layout for a card. It was truly an inspiration.

Join the challenge at A2Z Scrapbooking and see this sample here.

I did not make my card as vintage as the layout, but I like it.

Close-up of the camera's picture.
I used Judi-Kins Embossable Window Plastic with two rows of foam tape to pop the camera up.

The double row of foam tape keeps the sequins loose enough to move freely as seen below.
I hope you like my CASE of Delia's scrapbook.

Hero Arts Caffeine Fix

2017 Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  Are you ready to enter?
When:  Friday, September 15  –  Friday, September 22
Time: 6:00 am pacific
Theme:  FALL
2017 fall hop
I don't drink coffee just because I don't like the taste and my sons don't like the smell of coffee.  I guess we're the aberration in a coffee drinking society.  But I do like the cool images in the Caffeine Fix digital kit at A2Z Scrapbooking.   I printed out some of the images in random sizes and cut them all out.  I thought the beans were hilarious, but definitely usable.  I colored everything here using the distress markers and a water brush. The coffee cup protector (there is probably another word for that band around the cup) was marked with the brush on the lines and then lightly brushed with the watercolor brush.

A close up shows the beans off.

Retirement is right around the corner for my boss and me.  In this post, I'm going to focus on a card I made for my boss, who loves his coffee.  I just received my new die and had to play with it.  I just love the coffee cups from the A2Z Digi kits, so off I went to design my card.

I have already taken it to work and my photo of the entire card was blurry, darn.  I've left with part of my card, but not too much is missing.  SInce he is retiring, I thought "Take a Break" would be good with the white side printed with "A Long One".  Happy Retirement is written inside with lots of signatures.  I love the colors, bright and cheery.  This is an interactive card and I thought it would be fun.

It's coffee or tea time again and I couldn't help think coffee and tea could be grown in a pot already brewed, especially when I opened up a box of goodies with a die cut for a pot.

My potted plant is flowering ready made "to go" cups for coffee or tea.

Case a Designer at A2Z Scrapbooking - It's All About Tags For Me

When I saw Cindi's card here, I knew I had to try it with just plain ol' nesting dies, not that anything Hero Arts is plain.  But I just got my new Hero Arts stencil in and I couldn't wait to try it out.  And you won't believe what distress ink color I used - WILD HONEY.

I popped the orange tag up and put some sequins in.  Then I thought the tag hole was a bit big, so I copied another DT, Monica, with her neon  butterfly from August 12.  I added the smallest tags with a sentiment.

Cndy's card of wonderful cups.  You can see those wonderful dies nesting below her cups in the first photo.  Monica's butterflies are vivid with neon inks.

The results below.  It's a tag card   The sequins can move around to their hearts desire. You can see this post at A2Z Scrapbooking.

CASE A Designer on A2Z Scrapbooking

CASE a Designer - challenge for the month of September

When I saw Lesley's marvelous digital card, I was wowed by the simplicity and beauty of this card.  The black and white colors and design are incredible.  I liked it so much on first sight that I knew I had to create a card in the same style and pulled my Washi tape out and sorted it into black and white spools.

Lesley created a card with all digitals and I envy her creativity and knowledge of digital stamping.

I just had fun creating this card.  I really don't use the Washi tape I have enough.  This type of design is obviously perfect for it. Join in the challenge at A2Z Scrapbooking.

CASE a Designer on A2Z

A New MONTH and it's time to CASE a Designer at A2Z Scrapbooking.

Sue made a marvelous card with a beautiful background and design.  I'm CASEing this marvelous card.  Here's Sue's card here.

My card CASEing Sue's card.  Using the background with a border heading the card made for a great design.  Even though I placed a butterfly on top of mine, I tried to use a stencil that was eye-catching and vibrant as Sue's.
