Saying Goodbye to 2021

Frantic Stamper is Die Cut Divas' Sponsor for the December Challenge of Winter/Christmas project with an optional twist to make a shaped Winter/Christmas Card.    I will also be posting another shaped Winter card with materials available at Frantic Stamper around 9:00 a.m. Pacific time today!

Sometimes you just want something that goes together quickly and that's what I did here.  It's fun to mix alcohol inks together and a bit messy too, so I play and get messy all at one time, producing some fun mixtures, sometimes covering the panel and sometimes just creating what I might call abstract art (really abstract).  I used some panels with white die-cuts and I can see using the dies & alcohol inks to make cards to amaze friends with some easy to do cards.  hehehe

I hate to tell you, but I still gaze at these and am just amazed at the gorgeous colors and how well they suit as background for these dies.

Not A Christmas Card! Imagine That!

Frantic Stamper is Die Cut Divas' Sponsor for the December Challenge of Winter/Christmas project with an optional twist to make a shaped Winter/Christmas Card.

I have been die-cutting with some Frantic Stamper dies and although this is not a Christmas card, I'm sure some happy crafter will use it for a Christmas themed card.

I wanted to use up some odds and ends left over from some of my digital backgrounds, and just make a "happy" kind of card.  I don't think I missed the "happy" part.    I was able to use four (4) different kinds of digital leftover background papers in this card, very simple, but just barely having enough to make a whole card.  I added 3 enamel dots, a smiley face and sentiment.

Supplies:
Frantic Stamper Sun Rays Quilted Panel
Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Rectangles
Kat Scrappiness enamel dots (Shades of Teal)
Left over digital papers from other projects
Nuvo Crystal Drops Gloss - Midnight Blue for the dot above the "i" in "smile"
Vagabond die-cutting machine
I cannot find the name of the die set I cut the smiley face and sentiment from - lost the cut out name I had in my die stash for years.

What? More Christmas Cards?

Frantic Stamper is Die Cut Divas' Sponsor for the December Challenge of Winter/Christmas project with an optional twist to make a shaped Winter/Christmas Card.

This is another instance of choosing a background that might work.  Both are digital backgrounds that seem made for a die like this.  I was so happy with the way these cards turned out.

Christmas Scene

A cute scene I put together if I don't say so myself.  This is a digital scene. The background scene with trees and snowballs is called Winter Scene and then the snowmen & birds are called Frosty Hugs.  That cute bear is Starry Night.  I just copied and pasted everything into Word and then moved the birds, snowmen and bear around on the scene.   For a tutorial, Visit Kit and Clowder Colouring Facts on resizing digital stamps.

Christmas Time and Cards

Frantic Stamper is Die Cut Divas' Sponsor for the December Challenge of Winter/Christmas project with an optional twist to make a shaped Winter/Christmas Card.

I have had so much fun playing this month and here I am with more cards.  I just love the way you can bring this die to life with the different backgrounds behind the die.  It can be a digital background, Designer paper or your own homemade background.  The green card is a digital cardstock, while I purchased the sunset Designer slimline Designer paper.  These were fast, and fun to put together.

Lots of Christmas Cards for Family

Frantic Stamper is Die Cut Divas' Sponsor for the December Challenge of Winter/Christmas project with an optional twist to make a shaped Winter/Christmas Card.

You can find so many "must haves" at Frantic Stamper and I was looking for something that had a WOW factor and I think I found a couple of "must haves" and I know I found many wonderful "must haves".

These houses are going to family.  Since I cut everything from glitter cardstock, which is heavier than normal cardstock, so I was cutting for what I thought was forever, but was not.  For the results, I would gladly do this again with glitter cardstock.  The glitter is incredible and even if I say so myself, just beautiful.  Since my base cardstock was glossy, I used a stopper for each card, e.g. "ho-HO-ho!" on the blue cards.

Supplies:
Poppy Stamps Winter House Pop-up Easel Set at Frantic Stampers
IO dies - Birch Trees (small die-cut birds on houses - may be more than one set labeled Birch Trees)
Elizabeth Craft Designs various sentiments stamp sets
Glitter paper in stash
Vagabond die-cut machine

Julia Spiri and World Wide Open Design Team Challenge for December

World Wide Open Design Team Challenge

You MUST be a DT on any Design Team in the World to be eligible to enter this Challenge ~ New exception rule, this challenge is now open to any of Julia Spiri Facebook Members, and you are not required to be on a DT.

The challenge runs from December 15th through January 12th, Sydney Time Zone 7:00 a.m. or if you're in California, like me, The challenge starts on a Tuesday, December 14, at 2:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight

I had enough time and energy to make two cards using the Winter Houses image from Julia Spiri.  I used a digital background and cut the house image out to adhere to the paper.  I wanted only blues with a pop of green.  Lots of Stickles makes this a very glittery card.  The embossing added nice texture, but you can't see that on every raised dot is a bead of Crystal Stickles.  The whole card literally sparkles.

I wanted to give this larger Winter Houses image a warm feeling, so added yellow to the brown tones of the house.  I also added white Nuvo drops (Simply White) to the trees, house, smoke and snow, leaving almost no surface untouched.  I then added copious amounts of Crystal Stickles to the areas untouched by the Nuvo drops.  I had lots of fun coloring this image.

Close-up below  I used RV91 and RV93 for the tempestuous sky.  I hope you can see the Nuvo drops and Stickles clearly.  This close-up really does not do the finished card credit, but only a close-up can show you what I did.

November Card Chain Challenge Reveal

There are several different ways to challenge yourself with the Card Chain Challenge.  Here are the parameters for October:

I chose polar animals for my theme - I think that was readily apparent - LOL.         I kept changing what I wanted to make and finally settled on the first thing I thought of - polar animals.  I really like the way this worked out.  The signs are part of the igloo die set and I worked the sentiments in after cutting the signs.

Presenting Frantic Stamper and A Shaped Card

Frantic Stamper is Die Cut Divas' Sponsor for the December Challenge of Winter/Christmas project with an optional twist to make a shaped Winter/Christmas Card.

You can find so many "must haves" at Frantic Stamper and I was looking for something fairly easy, yet had a WOW factor and I think I found a couple of "must haves", but for now, I'll show you my bird houses.

My first birdhouse features a red birdhouse, but as much as I like the red house, I faced a dilemma for where to place my red bird.  I opted to put him inside the birdhouse peeking out with green sprigs facing down from the upper left.  I like just the one roof of only snow.  I put some green paper behind as I didn't like the all-white interior.  I think a light wood-tone paper would have been better to be a background for the bird.  Live and learn.

I used stoppers (pieces of paper with sentiments printed on them) as my paper was quite slippery and needed a two layer stopper for more support if I wanted to stand the card up without the message being seen.

I wanted to go more wood-like and I cut my house out of a pre-made digital background (Sepia) that I won from A Bit More Time To Craft.  It took me awhile to figure out which one of the set this was because I printed it on glossy paper and the effect is so different from what I'm seeing in my files.  Different equals GOOD. I used both roofs on this card, which I like too.

I believe this is  a pre-made digital background (Sepia) that I won from A Bit More Time To Craft, printed on a glossy cardstock.
Supplies:
Poppy Stamps Bird House Pop-up Easel set found at Frantic Stamper here
Red and green papers in stash
Black Copic marker or any black marker for the cardinal's mask

Some Kat Scrappiness Slimline Inspiration

I made this inspiration card for the Die Cut Divas whose sponsor for November is Kat Scrappiness.  You only have until 9:00 p.m. Pacific time to enter the challenge

Kat Scrappiness is offering a prize of a
Kat Scrappiness Gift Pack valued at least $25.

These little houses or sheds remind me of 1800s bathing sheds (also called bathing machines as some of them were on wheels).  I thought anything by the beach had to be brightly colored, so I took reds, oranges, yellows, greens and blues to color my beach houses.  There is NO stamping on this card anywhere, just die-cuts.  The top row of houses and trees is a WINTER die and when I look at the row here, I can only imagine a row of summer houses because of those bright colors and the beach scene.

I cut houses from a second sheet of the die cut on copic paper to color and fit between two Wave dies, one colored to look like sand dunes and the other in blue greens for the sea.  I dotted the landscape with enamel dots to make believe they were beach balls ready for children to come out and play.  I left the word "Paper" off of the sentiment die and it really works well in this setting.  I had such fun creating this scene to be able to use it as other than as a Winter or Christmas landscape.

Supplies:
Kat Scrappiness Holiday Village Slimline Border die
Kat Scrappiness enamel dots Shades of Coral, Shades of Teal & America the Great
Kat Scrappiness Sending Paper Hugs Word dies without/shadow
Copic markers

Today was Tag Day!

I'm down to the last minute with these tags.  I just got the "to go" die and had to use it on leftover papers to good advantage when making tags.

Check out the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop here.

I'm also entering the Christmas Kickstart Challenge # 56, which is all about using snippets.

If I have a die out, I like to cut multiples and save them in a packet with the dies.  However, I just received the "to go" cup and thought I'd rummage through my papers to put some colors together.  I lucked out on the green paper with being able to just cut out the last green rim and band.  I already had the gnomes cut out and colored.  It just took me time to get some things done around the house and find papers that coordinated in my stash.
Supplies:
Elizabeth Craft Designs Hot Chocolate (2 mugs)
Cas-ual Fridays Stamps To Go Cup dies
Gnomes - I had them in a bag on the table and can't find the packaging.
Paper from my stash
Copic markers on the gnomes
Twine
Vagabond die cut machine

November and The Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

I don't know why I just love this hop.  I don't really make coffee cards, but it always makes me happy when I see the hop start!

Check out the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop here.

I'm also entering the Christmas Kickstart Challenge # 56, which is all about using snippets.

I had die-cut this card base months ago and just didn't get around to using it until now.  I paired a wonderful coffee cup with a cute gnome and that wonderful striped paper.  The candy cane is part of the mug die set.   I only had a small piece of striped paper left and a little bit of red paper for the cup & candy cane, so I used what I could.  It's really cheery and I think much better in person than here.

Close-up below.  The glittery die-cut is actually a snow flake cut up to fill the cup.

Supplies:
The Stamp Doctor (Spellbinders) Side Step Card Die
Rubbernecker Michael Winter Gnome Die & Stamp (separately sold)
Elizabeth Craft Designs Hot Chocolate (candy cane & mug)
Poppystamps Stained Glass Snowflake die
Sentiments are pre-cut in my stash - not sure of company
Kat Scrappiness "America The Great" enamel dots (red & white dots)
Vagabond die cut machine
White glitter paper
Patterned paper is from Stampin Up, I think

World WIde Open Design Team Challenge Inspiration

World Wide Open Design Team Challenge

You MUST be a DT on any Design Team in the World to be eligible to enter this Challenge ~ New exception rule, this challenge is now open to any of Julia Spiri Facebook Members, and you are not required to be on a DT.

Sometimes I die-cut things and then don't use them so I store them with the dies just in case I might use them on another project.  That was the case with the Navy Striped Designer paper.  I also had some die-cuts just thrown into a drawer and that's where the frame came from.  I'm sure you can find some images to suit your style when you visit Julia Spiri's Etsy store.

Supplies:
Julia Spiri digital Cozy Home
Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Rectangles
Little B - Handwritten - die sent
Photo Frame - found in my stash - not sure if die-cut or from Cameo machine
Copic markers
Vagabond die cut machine.
