July Card Chain Challenge Reveal

Reveal Time for the Card Chain Challenge

When the challenge is announced, I'm always wondering what option I will go with and rarely is it the color palette or sketch option. I haven't used my embossing folders for awhile and so that became the first product I searched for.  I did make a sky recently and couldn't find this folder for the life of me. It was right where it was supposed to be, so I grabbed it before it escaped again.

Why don't you join us?  Sign up here
but be sure to mail your homemade card!

I went for dry embossing and friendship.

Close up - hard to see that second level which is a table & empty chairs

Back of shadow card - since you have to die cut a piece out of the front, I just used the cut piece as a place to write a small message and color stamped girl.

A Box Card and a House for Scrappy Tails

It's Monday and time to wake up and craft!
I not only made one card, but two cards.  This post is picture heavy!

A little bit of glitter can go a long way.  I made a box card with one die set and filled it to the brim with some of the goodies from just one other Scrappy Tails set.
I love this box card die.

Back with a Craft Roulette Card

 We've Got Parameters!
I was able to play along with Craft Roulette this weekend.

Project: Dutch Door (house has a Dutch door)
Colors: Gnomes (mostly browns)
Element : Movie (The Aristocats by Walt Disney)
Building Blocks (lines across the wood building)

Another Christmas card with an easel card.  It really is so easy to make this pop up easel card and I've made some really different (I don't want to say strange) houses since I bought this fantastic die. I've paired the Poppy Stamps house with some new stamps and I must say, I find it so much fun to look at it.

First, the picture, then the parameters!

I think these flowers say "Summer", a Theme option with a "Thinking of You" Friendship option. I decided I wanted to go with summer as it's already been 104 degrees, Fahrenheit here.  We know for sure that summer has arrived in California.
We'd love to have you join the group.

Welcome To a Scrappy Tails Card

Welcome to a Scrappy Tails house card.  I love the two Christmas sets of Santa's Workshop and German Winter Village because they can really complement each other.   last card this month using Scrappy Tails products and I have really enjoyed these products.  Be sure to enter the Die Cut Divas' challenge to add glitter.

The object of the Die Cut Diva's challenge is to add glitter.  This card is a larger than normal size for me - 5" X 6 1/2" card.  I bought these at a local craft store years ago and now I needed one for my larger house and it worked out even better than I thought.  I had a slimline star studded pack of paper in different colors and after putting my large colored house on the different colors, I chose a dark green color (it looks aqua here, but it isn't).  I die cut white hills to cover up the bottom of the card.  I must say, even though it's an unusual colored sky, it fits.  I added glitter to the Christmas tree tops and along the die-cut hills.
Supplies:
Scrappy Tails Santa's Workshop (Large House)
Scrappy Tails German Winter Village stamps (out of stock) & dies
Elizabeth Craft Designs Adventure Edges (for the snow hills)
Kat Scrappiness Star Lights Jewel slimline paper - no longer available
Stickles - Yellow & Crystal

Wink of Stella (on the windows)

Lots of Dies on this Card

Yet again, I was able to enter Craft Roulette challenge

Project: Holiday (summer holiday)
Colors: Tropics (greens orange, brown)
Element: Wheels (scooter has wheels)
Random: Geometric Shape(s) (scallop, rectangle, circle)

If you look at my list of supplies, you may be wondering how I used the Postage Collage die in this card.  Here's what I did.

1. Cut an 8" by 11 1/2" Copic paper into 4 quarters
2. Center the Postage Collage Die in the center of the quarter paper & tape to paper
3. Die cut and keep both the outside outline & the regular die cut
4.  Use the outside outline to frame any A2 card

I've had the calendar picture for years and it worked out so well as the background for a tropical holiday card.  I added some palm trees and what's better than a scooter to get around on an island for your summer holidays?

Spin That Wheel!

 Spin That Wheel!

On May 31st, that wheel went round and round at Craft Roulette and the results are:

Project: A2 size card (this is an A2 size card)
Colors: French Cafe (colors of French flag - blue, white, red)
Element: June (riding a scooter, walking a dog)
Random: Polka Dots (Chic lady's shirt)

I really had a lot of fun with this one.  I had just received this set about a week or so before, so this is the first time using it.  I put glossy accents all over the scooter and the chic lady's shoes while I spread Wink of Stella across the sky.  I left the bottom under the Eiffel Tower glitter free. The sentiment says "Paris is always a good idea".

Supplies:
Scrappy Tails J'adore (Paris Besties) stamps & die bundle
Copic markers
Blue cardstock
Hero Hues Enamel Dots - clear
Altenew enamel dots Essential Black and White (stars & hearts)

Another Challenge With Craft Roulette

After I found a stamp set that I wanted to use, everything seemed to come together.  I had been stuck on the charm category.  Below, you can see the categories we had to work with, not too bad at all, right?

Project: A2 Card - this is an A2 sized card
Colors: Baseball Game - Jersey colors, ground, sky
Element: Number(s) - on the round stamp, bottom left
Random: Charm(s) - made up the charm from paper lined with gold pen

In spite of all the images, I think it turned out pretty simple.  One of my favorite dies right now is the Postage Collage die and I love pairing it with some of the Scrappy Tails stamps.  I received the stamp & die set on Wednesday and this is the first time using these cute Winter stamps.  The tag was die cut 3 times, once with the stamped image and twice with just the die.  I layered them and am using this for my charm.  Tracing the tag makes it looks like a charm, which is the closest I came to having a charm on hand.  After coloring, I used some Aleene's True Snow to give some dimension.

April's Card Chain Challenge Reveal

Enjoy exchanging Cards across the world and give yourself a little challenge.

See what choices we had to make our cards and where to find the Card Chain Challenge here!

I chose a pop-up card, of course.  I've made Christmas houses, haunted houses and now I think I've a young couple's house or else someone who likes a lot of dots. I cut the two people in the windows from a Scrappy Tails Coffee Shop stamped die-cut (the couple sitting at the table).
I laid the layers out so I could take a before and after picture.  I thought I needed to put something in the windows, but looking at this photo, I think I may have been wrong.  Oh well, too late now.

I do like this too.  I usually don't add a different color door, but I thought this house needed it.  I just cut the door out with the die and hand cut down one side of the door where it hinges.  The blue cardstock is the same in the before and after photos.  The first photo didn't catch the full light.  The picture below shows how light this cardstock is and it's gorgeous. Yes, I do like this house too.  Sigh.  LOL

Supplies:
Poppy Stamps Winter House Pop-Up Easel Set Craft Die
Scrappy Tails Flower Shop stamps & dies - only one flower

Go Wild With A Birthday Card For My Granddaughter

I was playing along with the categories from Craft Roulette which were:
Project: Gift Card
Colors Coffee Shop
Element: Go Wild
Random: Add a number(s)

I then thought these categories, plus a new die set I purchased were perfect for my granddaughter's birthday card.  I added a die cut with the sentiment "Happy Birthday" on the back of the card and I did put a gift card in and mailed it off to her.   I think she will find it fun and especially nice for the holidays.

I took three photos and made a collage to show all the elements.

Close up of the number, coffee colors (browns & orange),  and "Wild" parameters.
