End of May with Waffle Flower

The last day with Waffle Flower at Die Cut Diva's blog challenge.

First a Monochromatic project!
I chose a 12" X 12" sheet of double sided cardstock to work with that was all in different tones of greens so I didn't have to color anything to fit the monochromatic challenge this month.  Even the die that I used as a tag is from the set.

Now, the many wonderful ways to use all kinds of Christmas papers to make some great Christmas bags.  I am going to use these as little holiday treat bags.

The bags are so quick and easy to make.  There are some flower dies, but the main treat bag consists of two dies which I absolutely love because it's so easy to put together.  There is also a video here.

Another Challenge With Craft Roulette

After I found a stamp set that I wanted to use, everything seemed to come together.  I had been stuck on the charm category.  Below, you can see the categories we had to work with, not too bad at all, right?

Project: A2 Card - this is an A2 sized card
Colors: Baseball Game - Jersey colors, ground, sky
Element: Number(s) - on the round stamp, bottom left
Random: Charm(s) - made up the charm from paper lined with gold pen

In spite of all the images, I think it turned out pretty simple.  One of my favorite dies right now is the Postage Collage die and I love pairing it with some of the Scrappy Tails stamps.  I received the stamp & die set on Wednesday and this is the first time using these cute Winter stamps.  The tag was die cut 3 times, once with the stamped image and twice with just the die.  I layered them and am using this for my charm.  Tracing the tag makes it looks like a charm, which is the closest I came to having a charm on hand.  After coloring, I used some Aleene's True Snow to give some dimension.

Say Thank You

A little bit of Craft Roulette

Project: Appreciation (Thank You)
Colors: Candlelight (yellow, orange against a blue sky)
Element: Leave it to... (the birds)
Random: Retiform: Retiform comes from the Latin word "retis," meaning net. It involves creating a network or grid-like pattern on your card using lines or shapes. For this reason it is also called the grid technique. (I used a grid of shapes)

I used a patterned paper for the tree leaves (3pieces) and I think those little birds are just darling and fulfilling the "leave it to the birds" part of the challenge.
Yeah, one more down!

A Little Mixed Media at Craft Roulette

Another Set of Categories to Work With

Project: HELLO
Colors: ROBUST
Element: WORKPLACE
Random: MIXED MEDIA

I'm not sure if an unknown chef is hitting one chef with a skillet, but it might be true!
There's a big "hello" and dark blue is a ROBUST color.  Even chefs have tools of the workplace and I added a heart enamel dot, Nuvo drops, Wink of Stella and gold to the soup dish.  The Silver Moondrops have a lot of glitter to them, just a bit different than Stickles.  First time I've ever used this Nuvo product.

Supplies:
My Favorite Things Recipe for Happiness Stamps & matching Dies
Altenew Enamel Dots Lapis Lazuli
Nuvo Glitter Drops Silver Moondrops
Nuvo Crystal Drops Midnight Blue

April's Card Chain Challenge Reveal

Enjoy exchanging Cards across the world and give yourself a little challenge.

See what choices we had to make our cards and where to find the Card Chain Challenge here!

I chose a pop-up card, of course.  I've made Christmas houses, haunted houses and now I think I've a young couple's house or else someone who likes a lot of dots. I cut the two people in the windows from a Scrappy Tails Coffee Shop stamped die-cut (the couple sitting at the table).
I laid the layers out so I could take a before and after picture.  I thought I needed to put something in the windows, but looking at this photo, I think I may have been wrong.  Oh well, too late now.

I do like this too.  I usually don't add a different color door, but I thought this house needed it.  I just cut the door out with the die and hand cut down one side of the door where it hinges.  The blue cardstock is the same in the before and after photos.  The first photo didn't catch the full light.  The picture below shows how light this cardstock is and it's gorgeous. Yes, I do like this house too.  Sigh.  LOL

Supplies:
Poppy Stamps Winter House Pop-Up Easel Set Craft Die
Scrappy Tails Flower Shop stamps & dies - only one flower
Scrappy Tails Coffee Shop stamps and dies - most of the items in the windows
Copic markers
Vagabond die cut machine
Paper in stash

YAY For May

 The May Challenge

for Morgan's Artworld is

"Anything Goes" May 1st to May 27th

You can use any image or project you have posted in May. For purchasing Morgan's ArtWorld Images, please visit the website at
Morgan's Fitzsimons Art Studio

I hadn't seen this Flower Butterfly Border before and grabbed it up.  Then, I thought "what do I want to do with this?  Do I fussy cut an image to put on top or do I fussy cut the border?"  I Fussy cut the border out and I do think it worked out so well.  You could do so many things with this border - put a quote inside or a stamped image.  I happened to have an image that I printed about 6 weeks ago and didn't use.  I think it really worked out well.  I do love how the border turned out.  And oh my gosh, no die cuts were used in this creation.  I even surprised myself.

Supplies:

Julia Spiri's image Sweet Temptation
Copic markers

Waffle Flower in May

Waffle Flower is Die Cut Diva's sponsor for May's Challenge and I am excited to play with my Waffle Flower stamps and dies.

First the Monochromatic Challenge project.  I'm thinking of pumpkin to deep pumpkin colors.  I look at this and I am forever changing my mind as to whether I like it or not.  LOL  You know what this was perfect for?  Something subdued.  My friend's mother-in-law passed away and this became a sympathy card which worked out well.

Supplies:
Waffle Flower Postage Collage Die
Waffle Flower Postage Collage Stamp Set
Waffle Flower Postage Collage Everyday Stencil
OR You could get everything in the Waffle Flower Postage Collage Bundle which is what I did - money saver.
Altenew Window Slats #D Embossing folder
Distress Oxides
Vagabond Die cut machine

I know this next photo is not monochromatic, but I'm using the telephone die and one thing I like to do is to make something with my scrap papers to see how it looks right in front of me.  Oh, my gosh, you can make this with fewer dies or add them on like I did.  Each of the telephone dies come as pieces that you can add as different colors, patterns...  I used another set (books and coffee) with the deer and bird on books to make a Christmas tag.  All you need to do is make a hole in the top & tie a ribbon.  Lots of fun things to do with these dies.
