Some Kat Scrappiness Slimline Inspiration

I made this inspiration card for the Die Cut Divas whose sponsor for November is Kat Scrappiness.  You only have until 9:00 p.m. Pacific time to enter the challenge

Kat Scrappiness is offering a prize of a
Kat Scrappiness Gift Pack valued at least $25.

These little houses or sheds remind me of 1800s bathing sheds (also called bathing machines as some of them were on wheels).  I thought anything by the beach had to be brightly colored, so I took reds, oranges, yellows, greens and blues to color my beach houses.  There is NO stamping on this card anywhere, just die-cuts.  The top row of houses and trees is a WINTER die and when I look at the row here, I can only imagine a row of summer houses because of those bright colors and the beach scene.

I cut houses from a second sheet of the die cut on copic paper to color and fit between two Wave dies, one colored to look like sand dunes and the other in blue greens for the sea.  I dotted the landscape with enamel dots to make believe they were beach balls ready for children to come out and play.  I left the word "Paper" off of the sentiment die and it really works well in this setting.  I had such fun creating this scene to be able to use it as other than as a Winter or Christmas landscape.

Today was Tag Day!

I'm down to the last minute with these tags.  I just got the "to go" die and had to use it on leftover papers to good advantage when making tags.

Check out the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop here.

I'm also entering the Christmas Kickstart Challenge # 56, which is all about using snippets.

If I have a die out, I like to cut multiples and save them in a packet with the dies.  However, I just received the "to go" cup and thought I'd rummage through my papers to put some colors together.  I lucked out on the green paper with being able to just cut out the last green rim and band.  I already had the gnomes cut out and colored.  It just took me time to get some things done around the house and find papers that coordinated in my stash.
Supplies:
Elizabeth Craft Designs Hot Chocolate (2 mugs)
Cas-ual Fridays Stamps To Go Cup dies
Gnomes - I had them in a bag on the table and can't find the packaging.
Paper from my stash
Copic markers on the gnomes
Twine

November and The Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

I don't know why I just love this hop.  I don't really make coffee cards, but it always makes me happy when I see the hop start!

Check out the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop here.

I'm also entering the Christmas Kickstart Challenge # 56, which is all about using snippets.

I had die-cut this card base months ago and just didn't get around to using it until now.  I paired a wonderful coffee cup with a cute gnome and that wonderful striped paper.  The candy cane is part of the mug die set.   I only had a small piece of striped paper left and a little bit of red paper for the cup & candy cane, so I used what I could.  It's really cheery and I think much better in person than here.

Close-up below.  The glittery die-cut is actually a snow flake cut up to fill the cup.

Supplies:
The Stamp Doctor (Spellbinders) Side Step Card Die
Rubbernecker Michael Winter Gnome Die & Stamp (separately sold)
Elizabeth Craft Designs Hot Chocolate (candy cane & mug)
Poppystamps Stained Glass Snowflake die
Sentiments are pre-cut in my stash - not sure of company
Kat Scrappiness "America The Great" enamel dots (red & white dots)
Vagabond die cut machine
White glitter paper
Patterned paper is from Stampin Up, I think

World WIde Open Design Team Challenge Inspiration

World Wide Open Design Team Challenge

You MUST be a DT on any Design Team in the World to be eligible to enter this Challenge ~ New exception rule, this challenge is now open to any of Julia Spiri Facebook Members, and you are not required to be on a DT.

Sometimes I die-cut things and then don't use them so I store them with the dies just in case I might use them on another project.  That was the case with the Navy Striped Designer paper.  I also had some die-cuts just thrown into a drawer and that's where the frame came from.  I'm sure you can find some images to suit your style when you visit Julia Spiri's Etsy store.

Supplies:
Julia Spiri digital Cozy Home
Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Rectangles
Little B - Handwritten - die sent
Photo Frame - found in my stash - not sure if die-cut or from Cameo machine
Copic markers
Vagabond die cut machine.

Card Chain Challenge Reveal for October's Exchange

Below are the challenge themes for the October challenge.  You can sign up for the November Challenge at Card Chain Challenge, so be sure to check out the challenge for November.

I received this die mid-September and I cut lots of the dies and put them in little baggies so I could create without pulling out the Vagabond & dies again.  I used Vintage Photo distress ink to bring out the gills under the mushroom cap.  Since I chose "friendship" for my challenge, I added a "friend" die-cut.  I think this could also be a cute card for a close friend who just needs a note to cheer them up.  My door does not open and I could have used a lighter door, but I rather liked the dark door matching the window frame next to it.
Supplies:
Elizabeth Craft Designs Mushroom House
Sizzix Thinlits "Friend" die set
Vintage Photo distress ink
Papers from my stash

I absolutely love working with the canal boats and this scene was so easy to work with, however you might want to make sure you don't mistake smoke for a tree, but I did a great cover-up job.  Do you see the smoke under the bridge?  I thought the smokestack from the boat was a tree trunk with a branch going into the tunnel.  OOPS.  I turned the yellow-green tree into smoke by adding C7 for a dark gray smoke.  Also, if you look above the left flowering tree, there is still a tinge of yellow-green as I somehow mistook it for the beginning of a tree with the same saving treatment of C7.

A Month With Kat Scrappiness at Die Cut Divas

Die Cut Divas' sponsor for November is Kat Scrappiness and the Divas thought Slimline and Mini Slimline cards were perfect to make your holiday cards, no matter the content.  So let's get making those wonderful SLIMLINE and MINI-SLIMLINE cards.

Kat Scrappiness is offering a prize of a
Kat Scrappiness Gift Pack valued at least $25.

The standard size of a slimline card is typically 3.5" X 8.5" (8.89 X 21.59 cm).  The card base for a mini slimline card is typically 3" X 6".   These are approximate sizes and we won't be checking to see if your card meets the exact standard for either size.

I made both a mini-slimline and a regular slimline card.  The sentiment comes with a background in the set, but I used it without the background in the mini-slimline and with the background for the second card.

It just worked out perfectly that I had some amazing cardboard ads showing a sunset & dark silhouette which I used for the sentiment backing die.  This may be simple, but in real life (RL), it packs a punch!

Supplies:
Mini-Slimline
Kat Scrappiness Mini-Slimline Embossed Edge die
Eyelet Outlet & Brads Enamel Dots

Slimline:
Kat Scrappiness Ice Ice Baby Enamel Dots

Products used in both cards:
Scrap papers
Vagabond die cut machine
