November and The Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

I don't know why I just love this hop.  I don't really make coffee cards, but it always makes me happy when I see the hop start!

Check out the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop here.

I'm also entering the Christmas Kickstart Challenge # 56, which is all about using snippets.

I had die-cut this card base months ago and just didn't get around to using it until now.  I paired a wonderful coffee cup with a cute gnome and that wonderful striped paper.  The candy cane is part of the mug die set.   I only had a small piece of striped paper left and a little bit of red paper for the cup & candy cane, so I used what I could.  It's really cheery and I think much better in person than here.

Close-up below.  The glittery die-cut is actually a snow flake cut up to fill the cup.

Supplies:
The Stamp Doctor (Spellbinders) Side Step Card Die
Rubbernecker Michael Winter Gnome Die & Stamp (separately sold)
Elizabeth Craft Designs Hot Chocolate (candy cane & mug)
Poppystamps Stained Glass Snowflake die
Sentiments are pre-cut in my stash - not sure of company
Kat Scrappiness "America The Great" enamel dots (red & white dots)
Vagabond die cut machine
White glitter paper
Patterned paper is from Stampin Up, I think

The Steam Looks Spooky!

A pretty simple card and a kind of scary steam rising from the cup.  That steam happens when your Nuvo Crystal Drops get out of hand.  I have friends who will get a kick out of it.  But it does look like tentacles coming up from the cup.

zarf is something that helps you hold a hot cup without burning your fingers.  I put the word "Coffee" over the zarf , printed, colored and cut the cup.

I had printed out "Take a Break, part of the Caffeine Fix Digital set from Hero Arts, no longer available since A2Z Scrapbooking closed.  I used a new die-cut to cut out the sentiment on the Hero Arts card set I bought a couple years ago at Target.

Your Paper Coffee Cup Should Always Come With a Zarf

zarf is something that helps you hold a hot cup without burning your fingers.  Zarf is a peculiar looking word loaned from Arabic and originally denoted a metal holder for a drinking glass — which would be unwieldy to handle if it contained a hot beverage.

I know I'm just odd when it comes to words, but a zarf is a zarf.

I printed out a coffee digi from Hero Arts (no longer available) and colored the cup after setting the sentiment of "Take a Break" on top of the zarf  on the cup in Word.  I colored with Copic markers and free hand cut the cup out, outlined in black and found an old Hero Arts card that was sold in Target years back.  I think it looks well on that background and I believe I even used the stamp that came with the card package.

It's very simple, but I rather like it.

Supplies:
Hero Arts digital Caffeine Fix (no longer available at A2Z Scrapbooking which closed its doors October 31st, 2019
Copic markers
Hero Arts Stamp "Thinking of You" (Wood block stamp with card set)
No die-cutting (imagine that!)

I took two digital kits and combined the kitty with the "to go" cup and it is really the cutest combo I've done in a long time on a card.   I fussy-cut the kitten and cup with flowers.  The papers are scraps from the infamous scrap pile.

Winter Coffee Loving Blog Hop

Friday, December 8 - Friday, December 15, 2017

I love this challenge because I rarely work with coffee products in my creations.  I do love Tea and most of my friends are tea lovers.  Some do love their coffee.  I don't have that many coffee, chocolate or tea  stamps or digitals to work with, but the Hero Arts digital Kits at A2Z Scrapbooking has saved the day.  My card is up today on A2Z Scrapbooking today and A2Z Scrapbooking supports the Coffee Lovers Bloghop.  Go check it out.

In Word, I copied the cups in different sizes to see what I liked.  I then went to colors (2010 Word, Colors is located under Format) and found the color and and this cool design.  Perfect.  I found another light color for some background cups.  I liked this background so much, I created a second page of this background.  It really does give me an icy feel to the card.

I chose some glitter papers to die cut and went for it.  A couple Nuvo Crystal Drops Simply White drops went in the middle of the stars.  The inside of the cups is colored first with B21 and then colored over with BG23.

Retirement is right around the corner for my boss and me.  In this post, I'm going to focus on a card I made for my boss, who loves his coffee.  I just received my new die and had to play with it.  I just love the coffee cups from the A2Z Digi kits, so off I went to design my card.

I have already taken it to work and my photo of the entire card was blurry, darn.  I've left with part of my card, but not too much is missing.  SInce he is retiring, I thought "Take a Break" would be good with the white side printed with "A Long One".  Happy Retirement is written inside with lots of signatures.  I love the colors, bright and cheery.  This is an interactive card and I thought it would be fun.

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop Winter 2016

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Be sure to enter the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop here.

I love using my Hero Arts Coffee Cup Frames dies.  I'm afraid I made seven instead of one.  But I am very happy with all seven and they will not go to waste.  .  I'll show you all of them, but I think my favorite is the first card up.
