June Opens with Critters from SheepSki Designs

Challenge - Critters

It's all about the Critters - any kind of critter, just be sure there's a critter on your project as well as using a die-cut machine to cut your images/borders/panels... or to dry emboss some part of your project.

SheepSki Designs is the sponsor for Die Cut Divas this month of June, so please join all the Divas for the challenge

I thought these were just darling critters and I fussy cut these three guys and just had fun coloring them.  I didn't think they would work on red paper, but when I held these three up against the mini-slimline panel, I couldn't use any other paper and I TRIED, but always came back to the red paper.   I always had a mini-slimline card in mind when I sized and printed this digital image out, but I thought I would use a wood type of background to imitate a wood cabin look, but no, this worked out better than I thought.  I really just love it.

Kat Scrappiness Cityscape

Die Cut Divas is having a challenge and it is "Anything Goes" so whether it's Christmas, Thank you or any kind of card/project, check out the challenge here.

Kat Scrappiness is our terrific sponsor for December 2020 and not too much time left to enter our Anything Goes challenge, so hurry to enter.

Kat Scrappiness

The challenge is Anything Goes
Be sure to use a die-cut machine (using a die or embossing folder)

I chose to use the Cityscape die again.  I'd like to give the Kat Scrappiness DT, Maria Russell credit for being the inspiration for this card.  I watched the YouTube for the die Cityscape and saw her wonderful A2 card using this die set.  At the end of the video, there are lots of inspiration cards that I could have used, but I rather liked the multicolored city.

I tilted the card so you could see all Wink of Stella on the buildings

A Close-up of the depth on the building, which I really like.
Supplies:
Kat Scrappiness Cityscape
Elizabeth Craft Happy Birthday die
Distress Oxide inks

Kat Scrappiness Sponsors Die Cut Divas

My inspiration card for December at Die Cut Divas!

I do like silver and black and love the silver backing the buildings, but it does make a rather masculine card.  So I thought I'd embrace the masculine feel.  Adding the silver stars added some nice texture to the sky.

Supplies:
Elizabeth Craft Designs 4th of July dies - stars
Hero Arts stamps
Scrap silver, blue and black papers

I am still in the Christmas spirit and made another holiday card.  I didn't know I'd like this image so much.  This is the first time I've used this image and even though I'm not much for the style of this woman's hair, I grew to love her and she's more beautiful in real life.

Happy New Year and New Things. With Kat Scrappiness

When I visited Kat Scrappiness the first time, I couldn't do without buying something and also the 2nd time, etc.  I hope you enjoy everything as much as I do.

Now Kat Scrappiness is Die Cut Divas' first sponsor for the new year, 2020.  Visit the Die Cut Divas challenge blog to see what's happening there.  It's all about the New Things.

My first card for 2020 is a Congratulations card for a friend who is retiring and a very funny friend.  I think she'll get a kick out of this card.

I didn't know what I would do with this zig zag die shape at first, but just went with the flow and cut the card,  cut a scrap paper, then sponged Antique Linen onto the inside of the card using the scrap paper as a template.  Then I started playing around with some other dies in different colors.  For some reason, I kept putting this mandala die on, so that cemented the basic design.  I knew I had colored some Crazy Birds and found one that fit perfectly.  For such a simple card, it took me two whole weeks to come up with what I wanted.  It turned out very cute.

Inside below.  Plenty of space to say we're birds of a feather.

Supplies:
Kat Scrappiness Mandala Die
Kat Scrappiness Zig Zag Border dies (three separate dies in the package)
Distress Ink - Antique Linen

A2Z Scrapbooking Tiger Lily is Much Appreciated

I really like heat embossing the last layer on this tiger lily in white.  I know it's not a natural look, but it's quite riveting in real life.  The flower becomes the stunning focus on the card.  So happy to share this flower with you.

Be sure to join in on the fun at A2Z Scrapbooking

You know that feeling when you know something came together just right, just the way you wanted?  That's what happened here.

Happy Birthday on the Feminine Side

I think this is my favorite birthday card I made this month.  I had sponged all different colors of distress inks on 8" X 18" paper from 20 years ago so I could put all my sponges in one place and see the colors.  Using the paper here was definitely the best thing ever.  The colors are fun and summery.  I sent this card to my daughter-in-law as it's a feminine cheery card.  I kept the images in black and white for balance.  I  hope you like it too.
