Last of the Month With Hero Arts

Still Time To Play!
The Challenge for February is: Angle It!

Hero Arts is giving a $25 gift card to their website for our winner.  Our winner will be posted on the March 3, 2022.

There is still time to play.  You have until 9:00 p.m. Pacific time to enter your project here.  I have loved playing with Hero Arts this past month.

I guess I'm still in the mood for Christmas.  I made a mini-slimline card, just wider than the normal mini-slimline.  I stamped an older Hero Arts stamp on the red die-cut panel, die-cut the tags, colored the elf and layered everything.  Kind of a unique design, but I like it.

Supplies:
Hero Arts Manuscript Background wood stamp
Hero Arts Santa's Elves Stamp and Cut
Hero Arts Tag Infinity Dies
Momenta Nested Borders Rectangles dies
Eyelet Outlet enamel dots
Copic markers
Vagabond die-cut machine
Tag paper is from Kaisercraft Holly Jolly Collection

A Quick Winter Card

I decided to make a quick Christmas card with glitter paper.  I had to find little stars to match my large stars.  The more stars the merrier or something like that. I love red and white glitter paper because it makes such an impact.  I think I may have put too many stars on, but next time I'll curb my enthusiasm... maybe.

Supplies:
Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Stars die-cuts(large stars)
Elizabeth Craft Designs 4th of July die-cuts (small stars) not on ECD website
Elizabeth Craft Designs Noel die cut not on ECD website
Vagabond die-cut machine

Julia Spiri has created some wonderful digitals and this is for a sweet girl for a friend's grandchild.  I showed it to her and she was thrilled.  She said her granddaughter would love it.
CONFESSION:  I tapped my almost finished panel with a red marker near the right side of her face at the hairline - just a small tap, but RED!  I was able to make a small heart and make a loop with a fine liner, saving this from the trash can.   She is rather cute.

Hero Arts Fans Scramble Challenge

We all had 90 minutes to complete this scramble and post to the
Hero Arts Fans Scramble Challenge Facebook page.

Use your favorite Hero Arts products and feature "2" in it, either literally the number 2 or two times the same element!

Glad I had the two elves already die-cut. I colored the elves, did some die-cutting "Postage Stamp Rectangles" , then needed some kind of background and found I had this background "Design Block Happiness Grows" stamp. I used one of the sentiments "Ho Ho Ho" from "From the Vault Mr & Mrs" Claus. I popped up the two elves. There's also some Nuvo drops in there. Without that background stamp, it would have had no depth.

Supplies:
Hero Arts Stamp & Cuts Santa's Elves
Hero Arts Stamp & Cuts From the Vault Mr & Mrs "Ho ho ho!"
Hero Arts Happiness Grows (background)
Elizabeth Craft Postage Stamp Rectangles
Distress Ink Worn Lipstick "background stamping"
Copic markers
Nuvo Crystal Drops - Gloss Red Berry & Crystal Drops Copper Penny

January Card Chain Challenge Reveal

As always, it's a delight to make something for a friend and I am delighted to send this card to Linda, who is on the Die Cut Divas' Team with me.  All the cards are posted at Card Chain Challenge for January.

Check out the Card Chain Challenge directions below for January's challenge - so many opportunities and it's always such a pleasure to receive a beautiful handmade card.  Even though it's too late to enter January's challenge, so be sure to enter the challenge for February.  You have up to February 7th to enter.

I made two cards at the same time in late December, this card on the same day.  I had two rectangles of this green, blue and purple paper left from other cards and managed to cut the lower half from one piece and the upper half from the other.  This was the first time I used this panel die and was able to make two cards with leftovers.  I added the flowers after cutting out the circle (Book Club die cut) that was in the middle of the flowers.  I am so happy with the finished card.

I used three CCC theme options of NEW/SCRAPS/FRIENDSHIP in this way:
New: die (Frantic Stamper)  I made this card before the card I showed on my blog on December 26th, so technically, the die is brand new.
Scraps: digital background scraps
Friendship: sentiment "friend"

Pieces of digital & other leftover papers I had to work with below

Frantic Stamper Sun Rays Quilted Panel
Altenew Book Club Stamp and Die bundle
Sizzix thinlit dies: Friends - sentiment
Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Rectangles (looks like no longer available)
Copic markers on flowers & leaves
Kat Scrappiness enamel dots - Ice Ice Baby
Stampin' Up paper for background ( Xmas type paper I think a couple years ago)
Vagabond die cut machine

Hero Arts and Die Cut Divas

The Challenge for February is: Angle It!

Hero Arts is giving a $25 gift card to their website for our winner.  Our winner will be posted on the March 3, 2022.

  • Angles can be Acute angles, Right angles, Obtuse angles, and Straight angles.  We can slant things to create angles like I did for the walls in my card.

I angled the die-cut panels on the "wall" at an obtuse angle & the shelves and floor on a straight angle.  To me, it was all about the angles.   I just had fun creating this card, using most of the stamps and dies in this "In the Study" stamp and die set.  I know my walls and floor are strange, but I'm quite satisfied with it.  It's fun and crazy.  The strips were die-cut from quite a few different sets from scrap paper and saved in a bag, just for something like this, so I have no idea what dies I used.  The table is from an oval set with the table leg being from the letter "I" cut twice and criss-crossed.

You may enter your project here.
