For the Guys

Just for the guys.

March makes us look forward to warmer weather in the Northern Hemisphere, think about camping, fishing, hiking, biking, doing all those out-of-doors kinds of things.  I don't have any family that's into fishing, but they like to be out of doors, swimming or playing soccer.  Yes, my grown sons still pass the ball around and swim.  That's what they get for growing up in California, I guess.

Here's my sample card for Morgan's ArtWorld. here.

I put together a sheet of scraps on the diagonal and chose one part that was a neutral pattern, colored my image, die-cut the image and a matte plus used some die-cut gears to give it some fun elements. The gold foil clock gears are left-over Christmas wrapping paper glued to copy paper.

Supplies:

I've had this image colored for quite some time and I finally just said, make a card.  I think this image speaks for me.  LOL

There is still this one last day at the end of March to join the challenge at Die Cut Divas this month.

A Little Embossing Never Hurt Anyone

March is already here.  With the event of Easter, everyone is thinking bunny, so I thought I'd create a bunny card.  After embossing my three baby bunnies, coloring with Copic markers and die-cutting them, I wanted to make a simple card.   I chose one bunny and wanted to ground the bunny, so I sponged some distress ink pumice stone to create a background.  I didn't want the sponged area to stand out more than my bunny, so that's why I chose this color.  You could probably use some other gray tone too.  The "miss you" sentiments is part of the Hero Arts set and I feel you could send a card like this any time during the year.  I really like this very simple card.

Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

.

Hey, there's something going on over at Coffee Loving Cardmakers.  And I want to play too.  I don't drink coffee, but guess what, it's more about the friendships around that cup of Joe or Tea or Hot Cocoa.

The theme is "Spring" and who can't do something springy with the change in weather?  I used a combination of stamps and dies that I thought would work well together. And I can't believe those single letter are fairly well spaced and level.  This never happens for me.  Woohooo - you see it this once; you may never see it again.  And I'm very pleased with my cup.  A little off on the reflections, but I am leaving it alone.

I'm on the Design Team for a2z Scrapbooking and here's a little information about the company.
a2z Scrapbooking Supplies was started in 2007 to raise funds for causes including Celiac Disease, Camp Gluten Freedom and Behcets. The main focus is charitable giving and the company is run by volunteers. a2z Scrapbooking carries Hero Arts products and is the exclusive seller of Hero Arts digital stamps.

Hope you enjoyed the card and have fun.  If you'd like you can use my code Arlene15 at

The Wearig of the Green

I've combined Dies R Us and Bugaboo Digi Stamps to create a card to celebrate St. Patty's Day coming up on the 17th.  My sample card for the Die Cut Divas challenge this month was a fun one.

I thought a little green beer wouldn't hurt anything.  I made this image a modern take using the cool grays instead of warming her up.  I think she's already warmed up with that beer.

A close-up of this darling below.

Supplies:
Bugaboo Digi Stamps JJ Calendar Months - March
Elizabeth Craft Designs Flourish with Flowers at Dies R Us
Memory Box Hello Script, but you could use the Poppy Stamps Fancy hello as well.
Copic markers (3 gray colors for the hair)

I do Love Coloring

No It's not Christmas, but I do love coloring.  I tried some of the new Distress Crayons and I think I'm in love... again.  I love the vivid colors you can achieve with these crayons and water.  I purchased the stamp at Elizabeth Craft Designs as well as a couple of dies, all on sale.  I like "sale".  I couldn't wait to color this lantern and then I used a Wink of Stella brush to brush on some magic (glitter magic), which unfortunately does not photograph on this card.

Supplies:
Elizabeth Craft Designs stamp (Light the Way) and dies as shown above on the card
Background - Distress Crayons
Lantern - Distress markers w/water
Wink of Stella Brush
Uni-Ball Signo Broad tip pen - white by Mitsubishi

The Butterfly Effect

I am so into butterflies.  I just can't help it.  So, to carry on with the butterfly effect.  It may seem odd, but I guess I was going for a modern night sky. with a butterfly effect.
