End of May With AI

Art Impressions has some wonderful products and the challenge
 at
Die Cut Divas is live through 9:00 p.m. Pacific time tonight!

Art Impressions, sponsoring Die Cut Divas' challenge  is giving a $25 gift card to the Winner of the May challenge.

The challenge is to make your creation look like it is water colored.  You can use water colors, distress and distress oxides or whatever you want to get the water color look we want to see.

As I've said before, I find water coloring a challenge, but I do like this card. I know it looks like a tag, but it is an A2 size card. I bought two 8-packs of these cards and envelopes years back and still have a couple cards left. This card turned out to be so much fun!  I actually used it to send a not too late, but late, birthday card.

yes, I played with the Categories at Craft Roulette on May 16, 2025

 The categories were:

Project 4 Bar Card (3 1/2" X 4 7/8" card) This card is about that size
Colors: Craft Store Loads of colors
Element: Sew(s)(ing)/Sewn  Stitched die cut
Random: Stencil - The Artists Collection - stencils used for vase & brushes

This is the first time I've used the Distress Oxides on something like this and I love the way this turned out.  Just select colors that you have.  I used Wild Honey around the edges of the vase, then brushed Squeezed Lemonade all over it and I felt it still needed something else.  I added Fired Brick over the edges, lightly brushed with yellow and liked what I saw. .I've never used the stencils in this set or I think the rest of the set, but I think I will have to try the rest now.

Supplies:
Altenew An Artist's Collection  stamps, dies & stencils (unsure if entire set is available)

Craft Roulette Time for May 9th

I had time to play at Craft Roulette again.

What are those rascally parameters again?

Project - A7: Size A7 card made
Colors - Floral Wreath: Love those Distress Oxides on the card edges
Element - Lyric(s): Happy Holiday - song lyric
Random - Cinco (meaning 5): I count 5 words on my card

An A7 card is not the usual size I do very often, but I was up for the challenge and this card went fairly quickly.  I thought about adding something more, but I really like the clean and simple feeling I get when this is not really a clean and simple card.  I chose the oxide inks I felt gave me what I'd want to see my my floral wreath from green to yellows, roses, etc.  I had just received a Waffle Flower order with the plaid texture, so I used that die and cut it out with the Stitched Rectangles die.  I don't think I've EVER used the largest rectangle die until now.
I colored some leftover paper in the same oxide ink colors I used on the background and cut the "Happy Holidays" die and snipped off the "s" on the end to fit the parameters.  It was just a happenstance that all the words added up to 5. I checked my ribbons and chose one that I thought would work and somehow it does.  It grounds those darling elves.  I had already stamped the sentiment the pair are holding and die cut it.  I colored the pair with Copic markers. Another Christmas card in my stash.

Supplies:
Kat Scrappiness Santa's Helper stamps & matching dies
Kat Scrappiness Happy Holidays
Waffle Flower Sweet Plaid Texture Die

Card Chain Challenge for April

I created a mini slimline card for this challenge and used the option of HATS.  Chefs have hats and I just love this cute set anyway, so the chefs have it.  I knew I wanted my two chefs to shine (of course, with their hats) and I also wanted all the little items you might cook with too, but I needed a table.  When I chose my sentiment, I thought it could serves as a table and I think it really does.  My background is a bit off-kilter because I attached the card onto the back of the patterned paper.
MY BAD.
However, I had the background down so it may be wonky, but I still think it works.  My poor recipient will have to grin and bear it.  I chose the red hearts because I think it needed some more color. I also used Glossy Accents on the chef's buttons.

These are the Challenge Selections for the April Card Chain Challenge.
Make a card using at least one of the following options. (You can actually use two, three, all the options, but you are only required to use one of them.
