Bye February, Hello March

A goodbye to February and hello to March.

I decided to check out St. Patrick's Day and I'm ready for it.  This card was a breeze to cut on the Silhouette. Using double-sided colored paper was a perfect idea.  One side has a striking pattern and the other is a darker green.  The oval green panel on the front of the card is the same beautiful coloras the inside of the card.
This QuietFire cut file can be found at the Silhouette store here.
The stamp is an old old Hero Arts stamp.

Hope you enjoyed February and look forward to March.

A Tree Step Card, Yes

Another Quietfire Design card.  This step card is a cutting file and it's easy-peasy to use a cutting file because you cut and fold and you are ready to go!   I enjoyed using an Elizabeth Craft Designs die cut too.

Elizabeth Craft Design All Season Tree is a pretty cool tree.  Even I can make the tree look good... well I hope I do!

I'm entering this card in the Simon Says Anything Goes Challenge here.

Kind of a CAS card

Be sure to visit Die Cut Divas for today's inspiration using wonderful stamps and cutting files from Quietfire Design.

This is kind of a CAS card and I like the simplicity of it.  Wonderful sentiment from Quietfire Design.   I followed Deborah's sketch at Society of Stampaholics for the February card exchange.  I'm sharing this card with you and my partner.

I hope you enjoyed this card, very simple and easy sketch to follow.  And I quite like the results.

Hero Arts Blog Hop with your Hero Arts Hosti!

  • Welcome to the Hero Arts Hostess Hop, featuring fabulous stamps from the new 2015 release!
  • If you’ve been following along, you’ve just arrived from Tiffany Ervin .
  • Hero Arts will be awarding prizes from randomly drawn comments.  For a chance to win, simply comment on ANY of the stops along the hop on ANY day, including each day’s starting post at the Hero Club Blog. The more comments you leave, the better your chance of winning!
Let me tell you the plants on my card look much better than the plants in my house.  And yes I cut out every one of those plants and pots.  I over-water my houseplants, but the ones below don't have to worry about that at all.  The cutting was actually therapeutic, a calming exercise for sure.  I pictured a shelving unit on which to sit the pots, so this is what I came up with.

I couldn't have planned the colors of my card better to match the
main colors of the Hero Arts banner.

I think you can see the changes of color more on the second view below.
Wonderful new 2015 stamps hit the spotlight here.

Tropical Background, CG659
Stamp Your Own Succulents, CL839
Baby Animals Stamp & Cut, DC148 (sentiment)
Panel is glossy white paper which I embossed with VersaMark ink
Hero Arts Orange Soda, Fresh Peach and Soft Cantaloupe Ink Cubes
were used directly on the panel. (Lots of Ink Cube sets at Hero Arts)
Some of the plants themselves are stamped over more glossy paper inked with
Hero Arts Orange Soda, Fresh Peach, Soft Cantaloupe and Soft Pool Ink Cubes..

I decided to stamp the cute baby animals on patterned paper, like all kinds of little stuffed toys..  I had so much fun playing with them. I also had fun using my Hero Arts Ink Cube too.  I embossed the panel and ran the ink pad over the leaves to bring out spots of color.  There are the cutest little sentiments to go with this set too.   AND there are two dies.  I love sets that have dies included or that you can purchase to match the stamps you buy.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!

Here's a card that's got heart!  I couldn't help this remark.  When I make this card again, I'll make the  card longer, but it works and I sent it to my granddaughter.

When in Doubt, Twirl

I thought I would dress the front up in pink Distress Paint Victorian Velvet on the outside of the card and shades of green on the inside, Distress Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint and Forest Moss.

I just love the sentiment and that's what I think when I look at the pink and green combo;

NEW CHALLENGE AT DIE CUT DIVAS

Die Cut Divas has a new challenge for February and it's all about
WORDS, QUOTES & SENTIMENTS

Of course, you have to use your cutting and or embossing machine too. I finally used my Silhouette Cameo and I'm looking forward to having more fun and putting it to fantastic use.

Here is my sample for February 1st.

I used Distress Paint, Ripe Persimmon to color the moon and I love the bright color.  Using the black paper in back of the moon gives a silhouette effect as the moon sits over the background.
