My Adorable Lion

My Adorable Lion was easy to color and makes me smile.  He's visiting me from QKR Stampede.  Please make him welcome.

I was thinking of making this lion the actually card, but he seems a bit too small to cut out the lion as the card, not an element of a card.  It's still about 3 1/2 inches tall, so I wondered if I was going to be able to use Paula's sketch.  But like the train, I think I can... and I could!

I used Ranger Distress inks Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap for brown tones.and brightened up the earls with a Distress Marker "Spun Sugar" in the ears.  The poppies were in a bag I pulled out to see what I could use for the two embellishments.  I couldn't believe how cute they look next to this very cute, very tame lion.  You can tell he's tame because of the flower bud in his mouth.  The eyes and nose are made of black enamel accents.  Sounds like a float.

I think this guy deserves to be an amazing friend.

Be sure to visit Die Cut Divas for your challenge ideas - it's a sketch this month. This lion was published on Die Cut Divas by Dawn Turley with her Lion here.
