Poinsettias for the Season

The last day of August and I'm playing with poinsettias.  What a beautiful card base to set the Spellbinders dies upon.  I love the deep red poinsettia against the stark white background.  A few little gems and a sticker for the sentiment is all it needed to complete this card.

I have so enjoyed using the cards from Le Crystelle.

August time for CCC

Yes, time for the reveal of the Card Chain Challenge of my card to Christi.

Deborah Nolan of The Society of Stampaholics, who runs the card exchange had a sketch to follow and I went for the sketch.  I have a Hero Arts background stamp that worked perfectly with the sketch.  This is a starburst, but I think it looks like a strawberry and cream burst now.  There's lots of shine with some Perfect Pearls spray I made and then some drops of the same ink color all over exceptt the panel with the "hello" and star.  That star is all aglitter too - cut out of red glitter paper

Love those Lace Hearts

This is a sample of one of the cards for the August challenge
at Die Cut Divas.
It's an ANY HOLIDAY party we're having.

I so like the hearts and the wonderful different step cards at Le Crystelle Clothing and Crfats that I had to play some more.  To see another card, follow my link HERE to the post.

A better photo of the heart on the last step.  I love all the lace hearts in this set.

Moving on to the center step of the card.  This is one of my favorite hearts of the set.

Let It Snow

I could say "A little paste never hurt anyone".  This is the only way I want to shovel my snow.  When I saw these houses, I just immediately thought of putting paste on for the snow.  Crazy, but one should always try something to see if it works.  It works for me.  A bit of embossing on the blue panel behind the houses adds some interest to the background.  Bling never hurt anyone either.

Another Retirement Card for Ed

I have a Bugaboo Retirement card, that I changed from School to WORK!  Since this was aan 8 1/2" X 11" piece of card stock folded in half, I didn't want to use Copic markers that would bleed through to the other side.  I used a mixture of older markers to complete the little coloring needed.  I think it turned out entertaining and quirky.

One of my few cards made without die-cuts.  I found this fun to work with and even though meant for kids, I think it'll work for a retirement card too.  We obviously would like him to stay, but retirement comes for us all and we are usually very pleased to meet it.

Here's to a Happy Retirement.

Tissue Box Time

Be sure to maximize your resources.  For me, it's tissue boxes.  Several people now collect tissue boxes from their neighbors at work to give me.  I sometimes think I don't want to see another tissue box ever again, but I relent and this card is the result.

've gone crazy this month.
Yes, I'm up to using TISSUE BOXES AGAIN

I just used the die over and over again to see how it would look built up.
Side view of the card

Back card panel also sports the Eiffel Tower and 'm not sure who sent this to me.
Thank you out there.

Let's Hang Our Ornaments

It is so easy to make this card.  The ready made step card is perfect.  Die cut the Heirloom Ornaments and some bling is all it takes.  I'm definitely going to make some cards using these pre-made step cards.

This is a sample at Die Cut Divas.

Show Me the Moon

I made tags with some texture, yes embossing paste. When I think of Fall or Autumn, I think of seeing the moon through trees on a hill, the view from my front yard looking up the hill.  Those skies of dusky orange and pink are made for Autumn tags or cards. When I made these tags, I thought I was finished, but, I wondered if I might make Tag Cards.  So I did!

The tags were gorgeous. I could have punched a hole and pulled some twine through and had some unusual and marvelous tags.
a2z Pasted Tags Aug 2015

I chose some wonderful slate blue card stock on which to pop the tags on.  A long sentiment finishes it off.  I think my friend is going to love these as part of a retirement gift for him and his already retired wife. These were simple tags and simple cards, but you don't have to complicate things to make a beautiful card.a2z Tag cards Aug 2015

It is with mixed feelings that I will add these to his package of hand made cards.  I'm glad to give him and his wife something to remember the whole unit at work, but sorry to see him leave.  You can see these cards at a2Z Scrapbooking.

August is for the Heart too

A brand new sponsor over at Die Cut Divas with lots of examples of Le Crystelle Clothing & Crafts.  Please enter the Die Cut Divas' challenge for August.

Who doesn't like Valentines Day?  I am loving my step cards and especially when I don't have to think about cutting my cards.  The card stock is beautiful.  I love just folding and creating.

The edges fold crisply and the card does not feel too think for mailing.
