Die Cut Divas' November Thankfulness Month

Time for a new challenge and non other than A2Z Scrapbooking is the Die Cut Divas' sponsor.

The A2Z Scrapbooking store<carries a wide variety of Hero Arts products! Get discounted new releases, sales, grab bags and more. Proceeds from the A2Z Scrapbooking store benefit Celiac and Behcets disease foundations.   If you’re looking for a Hero Arts product you don't see in store, use the Request Custom Order button from with-in the shop.

Here is my last card for the challenge of Thankfulness,   I used the digital Holiday Houses  for my Thank You card.  I took liberties with bluebirds in the winter.   I used a blue card base and built snow mounds with a die-cut.  I guess Santa is late in delivering packages or else he's late getting home.

I am loving those Nuvo Crystal Drops, used white (Simply White) on the roof and chimney top with a drop of Red Berry on the door knob. If you look closely, I hope you can see the Wink of Stella on the top and bottom mounds of snow panels.  On the bottom panel I used the White Wink of Stella and then the Clear.  I used only Clear Wink of Stella on the top mound and the windows.

Supplies:

Please check out Die Cut Divas to see all the Divas' cards.

Hero Arts Holiday Houses and Tree-Mendous trees

Getting ready for Christmas?  I am and I have to think of different ways to give gift cards to some of the people on my list, such as my sons and granddaughter.    I have used the Elizabeth Craft Designs die cut sled die with Hero Arts Tree-Mendous and Holiday Houses digital kits for some really cute cards, in my opinion.

Join in on the Winter challenge at A2Z Scrapbooking.  I have several photos of the cards I worked on for my kids.
a2z scrapbooking winter challenge
I used a 12: X 12" pattern paper for the card (not very flashy, but the inside is where the card shines.

This is the inside of two of the four cards I made.  The blue pool reminds me of  southern California in the winter, when it's still a bit chilly for us northern Californians to frequent out pools, though I did swim in an outdoor pool here in Sacramento at American River College (nice and heated).  A lane leads up to the door and a Ho Ho Ho sentiment with a place for a note finishes the inside off. .I just love using that Nuvo Crystal Drops white (I'm using the Simply White and I see the A2Z Scrapbooking store has sold out of their white Nuvo. at the moment.  The bottles go a long way.

Card Chain Challenge time

I sent my CCC card to Helen in Ohio and she has received it.  I had fun with a  Tim Holtz stamp and matching die set.I have always loved these birds and I finally purchased the stamp and the die set.  I just have not had the time to stamp and cut them, before this month.  It really was so much fun.

I colored and cut several cut items on this bird.  The wing is a separate die cut and the eyes/beak is a separate die cut piece, cutting one eye and an eye and beak together.  It's pretty darn cool.

I used some of the Elizabeth Craft Design "Through the Lens" papers because they are so cool too.

Supplies:

  • Tim Holtz Crazy Birds (stamps and dies)
  • Elizabeth Craft Designs Through the Lens (Metal)
  • copic markers
  • Vagabond die cut machine
  • Nuvo Crystal Drops (Midnight Blue and Ripened Pumpkin.

Seasons' Greetings with a Modern Tree-Mendous Feel

I think everyone is getting ready for the holidays and I'm no different.  I wanted a slightly modern twist so I used the Tree-Mendous digital kit from A2Z Scrapbooking.
Without further ado:

Very simply done, but I like the angular lines on the background and the trees.
This close-up shows the simplicity and colors I used.

You can find me at A2Z Scrapbooking.

A2Z Winter Challenge - Holidays

Be sure to visit A2Z Scrapbooking to enter the monthly challenge for November.

With digital images, you can enlarge or decrease the size according to your need.  I printed two houses and adjusted the size of one to a bit larger size.  I'm happy with both of them.  These cards were super easy to make because the background is part of a paper pad with varying shades of colors.  I bought two pads a couple of years ago because I knew I would want more than one paper pad.  That is so true.   I really enjoyed making a couple of scenes with the houses.

Don't you love the icy snow?

My second card has a wonderful sky and some snowy ground with icy snow on the roof.

I used a smaller sized sentiment with the larger house and a different color in the windows.
My cards are at A2Z Scrapbooking here.

Morgan's ArtWorld on an Anything Goes Challenge

This is a perfect little bear to use at Christmas.

I don't see this image at the moment in the store, but it has been and I used this image as one of the beginning images when I first joined Morgan's ArtWorld.  I have loved so many of her images and this is one I wanted to use a second time.

From Word, I printed two exact panels and an extra cropped version of just the head and hat, as well as one cropped version of the gifts with arm and holly. Then:
1. I cut only out the entire frame of green leaves and colored them and put Nuvo Red Berry on all the berries.
2. I cut out the bear in its entirety.
3. I cut out the holly at the bears feet
4. I cut out the gifts and arm holding the gifts with the holly
5. I cut out the bears hat
6. I colored every item I cut out.
7. I added Nuvo crystal drops in different colors to the topmost items as well as the snowflakes.
8 I adhered all tops portions on pop dots to the panel I did not cut out, but did color the same colors as those I had cropped.

I smudged the white Nuvo drops on the bear's scarf because I put those on when I had the card completed and then touched the card before it was dry.  But all in all, I love this little bear.

A Calendar I have been working on

I have made my calendar for 2018 and I'd like to share some of my pages with you.  I used two sided papers for my calendar as the calendar is in notebook form, turning at the top.

January 2-18 and I put my red Cardinal in.  This set is sold out at A2Z Scrapbooking, but any Winter scene you want to use would be fine.

February 2018 has a blue snowy background paper

I figure everyone would have spring fever, including me and what gives us more of a feeling of freedom than the great outdoors and scooting around.  These little scooters are in the digital kit City Adventure here.

Come April and we're all thinking of trips to our National Parks and so I used the "Save Our National Parks stamp, which may be custom ordered.
.

May is all about butterflies flitting around and this Color Layering Butterfly stamp set is on sale right now here.

June is time to relax with a cup of hot tea for me and I used the Kitchen Silhouettes for my cup with a die-cut steam.  But you could use the digital kit Caffeine Fix for your cup here.

I've taken you through June of 2018 of my calendar.  I guess I am prepared.  Happy Calendaring, Scrapbooking and Cardmaking to you all.

Catch this post at A2Z Scrapbooking.

Supplies were linked at the different calendar pages, but I will include them below also.

Each calendar uses the Calendar Bold Prints stamp from Hero Arts.  Remember, if you can't find it at A2Z, you can custom order it.

January - Color Layering Cardinal at Hero Arts  or custom order from A2Z Scrapbooking.
March - City Adventure here.
April - Save Our National Parks at hero Arts
May - Color Layering Butterfly stamp set is on sale right now here.
June -  Kitchen Silhouettes for my cup with a die-cut steam.  But you could use the digital kit Caffeine Fix for your cup here.

Be Happy this weekend.

A Hero Arts Natural Christmas

Lots of Thanks to A2Z Scrapbooking for their sponsorship this month.  A great month to say thanks.  We celebrate Thanksgiving in November in the U.S. and I wanted a simple Thank you.

A2Z Scrapbooking has the Hero Arts digitals at your beck and call.  I used A Natural Christmas Digital Cut file for this card.and kept it tailored and simple. Dark burgundy and cream make this a striking color combination.

This sample post is also posted at Die Cut Divas.

Die Cut Divas Shows Winter Thanks

Die Cut Divas is being sponsored by A2Z Scrapbooking and I have a Winter Thank You card for you.

I had some post cards stamped up with an old Hero Arts envelope stamp and it was in a perfect color for making a Winter Thank You card.  I adhered the postcard to a white card, added Nuvo Crystal Drops Red Berry to the heart, colored the trees with Copic markers, added Clear Wink of Stella and that die cut arrow to the card.

You really are going to want to pick up that Nuvo Red Berry Crystal Drops at A2Z for Xmas cards.

Winter A2Z Challenge Holiday House

I so enjoy using the tags I make for gift giving.  You can make them any size and not have to squeeze your writing into a limited space.  This is the largest tag of the Hero Arts Tag dies.

I darkened the roof with a dark red marker and added some other colors to the house.  I thought that even I, could doodle some pavement outside the house.   There's enough room at the top of the tag to write the name of the person to whom you are giving your gift.

Hero Arts Vintage Travel Ideas

Today at A2Z Scrapbooking, we're showing how versatile the digital kit of Vintage Travel is.  This is one of my favorite digital kits and I have always used the old autos or some of the other images, but I have rarely concentrated my efforts on this postage stamp type image.  I printed the Travel Post and trimmed it to 5 1/4" X 4".  The wonderful lady in the old fashioned hat is from another image which I cut out by hand.  I colored her hat and I also laid down some more color on the ship (I almost called it a boat).  I took a white card and sponged it with Wilted Violet so it took on a deep shade for my background for the Travel Post panel.  I spritzed it with water and then adhered my panel to the card, with the lovely lady going on the lower corner with just her hat peeking over the violet card.  I wanted a personal touch so used a sea sentiment.  I love using those Nuvo Chrystal Drops too.  They make for great texture.

One of my friends is going on a trip up to Alaska by ship and this will be perfect.
