Coffee Lovers Bloghop - Yes, I'm Joining

Fall Coffee Lover's Blog Hop
See the news here!  And this is my entry.

I distressed the shiny bronze note card with Cup O'Joe and distress ink Carved Pumpkin which made a more metallic looking paper. What other color would you use for the cup itself, but Cup O'Joe?

I don't have that many coffee stamps, but I bought the new Coffee Cup Tags with matching dies and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the set.  The cream looks like it's perfect for a hot cocoa.  I guess it's supposed to be foam.  Obviously, I don't drink coffee, because I can't think of foam that tall.  You know how they say "stretch your stamps"?  Well, I'm stretching them.  The design on the cup is for winter, but with that DARK deep ink, it's as autumn as you can get.

On September 23rd only, A2Z Scrapbooking will be doing a rafflecopter giveaway on the a2z blog for a $25 gift code to the store.

You can use code Arlene15 at checkout to receive 15% off your purchase of $25 or more (before tax and shipping).  If you need craft items that you don’t see in the store, don’t forget you can special order them here at the A2ZScrapbooking Store.

A2Z Scrapbooking Tag Day

It's time to think of tags and well, I thought of silver butterflies; I don't know why.  But I went with it and I was happily surprised at the results.  The silver embossing just shines and after a number of tries, I finally was able to pick up some of the silver shine.   I hope you enjoy the butterflies just flitting by on these tags.

You can use code Arlene15 at checkout to receive 15% off your purchase of $25 or more (before tax and shipping).  If you need craft items that you don’t see in the store, don’t forget you can special order them here at the A2ZScrapbooking Store.  You can find this sample here.
Hope you’ll join in our September Challenge of "Make It a Tag" with your Hero Arts stamps, dies and stencils. And, if you need some new supplies, don’t forget to shop at a2z Scrapbooking.

Antique Poinsettia with a Distress Look

The new Hero Arts Antique Poinsettia wood block stamp is so perfect for tags, cards and so much more.  I embossed the first tag in gold and the second in silver.  Some distress inks and you're done!  Using one large image or two partial images make a tag a beauty.  You can use just about any sentiment.

More Thank One Fold

More than One Fold - that's the challenge at Morgans ArtWorld.  I wondered what I'd be making for this challenge and decided to stretch myself beyond two folds by creating an accordion card.  The center of attention is a dragon. See my sample along with our team here.

To purchase your images please visit Fae Entertainment.

I took two images to my monthly Copic coloring class/get together and colored them both at the same time, laying down colors in a spot on one and moving to the other image to do the same colors and they are very similar, even when shading with two to three different colors.  I used lavenders and blues, intermixing them.  I really like this, one of my favorites.

The card itself is below.

A Kaleidoscope of Butterflies

Die Cut Divas' challenge is Fall and Fall Holidays

Would you believe:
A collective name for a group of butterflies is called a 'Kaleidoscope'. However others have called it a 'Swarm' or 'Rabble'. In addition, the collective name for a group of caterpillars is 'an army'.

Here is my sample.for September7th at Die Cut Divas. You can couple the stamped image with Stitched Rectangle dies from the Frantic Stamper. Yes, here is my kaleidoscope of butterflies.

This is my sample for a post at Die Cut Divas.

Even though I have a lot of yellow in the swarm of butterflies, I'm ok with it.
As they say, you learn something new everyday.

Coffee Cup Tags

Are you making tags?  This is only the fourth day of the a2z Scrapbooking Tag Challenge for September.  Come along and join us.  I'm making Christmas tags because I couldn't resist the new Coffee Cup Tags.  Honestly, WHO COULD? I didn't realize these were meant to be tags because in the Hero Arts Winter catalog, I see these on cards.  Imagine my surprise when I actually realized the name.  I thought, how unoriginal I was to use these as tags.   Even though the dies come separate for the cup and the whipped cream on top, these are one piece tags.  I've made 11 tags in all.
Hero Arts Coffee Tag Tags & Frames

a2z picmonkey Pink Coffee Tag Sep 2016

a2z Coffee PicmonkeyTags Sep 2016
  1. I stamped the cups first, leaving room enough to stamp the cream on top on lots of tags (twice as many stamped as tags shown here)  MISTI is wonderful for this.
  2. I cut the paper in coffee cup sizes.
  3. I die cut the cup, leaving the top of the die cut over the edge of the plate on my Cuttlebug, so the outline was cut, but not the top rim.
  4. I then turned the image around so the cream die (long edge) bottom hung off the plate on my Cuttlebug, so the cream was cut, but not the rim sitting on top of the cup.
  5. I just only had to cut a small piece where the dies didn't overlap.
And there you have the simple story of using two dies on one image for one die cut image.  I haven't use my NEON Hero Arts Inks in awhile, so I had a go with them.

List of supplies:
Hero Arts Coffee Cup Tags available at a2z Scrapbooking (these may be sold out, check for them.  They also come in a set with the die cuts.
Hero Arts Coffee Cup Tag Frame Cuts available at a2z Scrapbooking
Hero Arts Neon inks Neon Green, Neon Blue, Neon Pink and Neon Purple
Misti - stamp all the cups, then set the cream on top stamp and just move the paper to get perfect images
Nuvo Crystal Drops  (Glitter Drops Ruby Slippers) - I bought these through the a2z store.

Hero Arts Scramble - the Scramble that's Heard Round the World!

Ok, maybe I'm a bit biased, but I love it when I can participate in a Hero Arts (HA) scramble.  You never know who'll be away or asleep, in their jammys or wide awake, but you do know your fellow stampers will be sitting at their desks pulling out stamps, inks, pens, papers, cutters, and on and on.

It makes us a close knit community when you stamp and create as a friend across the miles.

Well, I did make some items that I am happy with.  The challenge was to create a set of three:  A card, a tag and an envelope.  Below is my set of three.

My card was actually very simple.
I used distress inks on the background, a sentiment and die-cut poinsettia pieces.

I punched a hole directly into a leaf in the poinsettia to use as a tag.  Quite simple an idea and really quite easy.  I was going for quick with only 90 minutes to make the trio and upload my photos.

Supplies:
HA Antique Poinsettia available at A2Z Scrapbooking
HA Paper Layering Antique Poinsettia Frame Cuts at A2Z Scrapbooking
HA Coffee Cup Tags - sentiment at A2Z Scrapbooking.
Distress inks Candied Apple, Shabby Shutters and a bit of Twisted Citron

I left my tags in San Francisco

I obviously did not leave my tags in San Francisco, but close as the crow flies.  I love the way these turned out - not shabby for an idea on how to use this wonderful stamp.  I wondered if it would work and how it would look.  I frankly love it.  It's a wonder what color will do for you.

I like the way the Copic white pigment can be layered and make a card three-dimensional.

Supplies:
Distress inks
Copic white pigment
Cuttlebug
A couple Copic markers for buildings and grass & trees
