Bugaboo Thank You

Thank you to Bugaboo Digi Stamps for sponsorship of Die Cut Divas for the month of June.  There is still time to play, up to 9:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.

The Bugaboo prize pack will be for 4 images June's drawing will be announced on July 2nd.

Arlene wants to say Thank You with some summer ice cream.

All the glasses have Glossy Accents, which makes for a fun card with fun texture.  A little goes a long way.  I used a circle die to cut the little circles.

Fae 12 just for You

Morgan's challenge is to use patterned paper.
Visit the challenge blog here.

Morgan's Artworld has so many truly beautiful images.  Sometimes colors just seem to pick themselves. I hope you enjoy my sample.

I love this image and have used two panels of patterned paper.  The dark blue has an irregular pattern and the light cream is a Christmasy pattern.

June's reveal for the Card Chain Challenge

My Card Chain Challenge card is one I made with a cute Bugaboo digital image.  It has some Nuvo Glitter Drops called Ruby Slippers.  Wouldn't Ruby Slippers be a great name for an ice cream too?

There's quite a bit of texture to this girl.  The ice cram has Glossy Accents and the dress and bow have Ebony Black Nuvo Crystal Drops with a pop of Ruby Slippers Nuvo Crystal Drops.  I thought she would be perfect for the Card Chain Challenge here.  One of the challenges was using Glitter.  I thought the pop of glitter on the top ice cream scoop was perfect.

I do hope my partner likes it.  I really think it says, "join me in some summer fun".

A Penguin, you say?

The sponsor for Die Cut Divas this month is Bugaboo Stamps.

I've already mailed this card to a friend to cheer him up.  The inside says "We couldn't get you a Rubber Duckie, so we got you a Floating Penguin".  I know it's rather nonsensical, but, sometimes my brain just goes in that direction.

The sun glasses are filled with Glossy Accents, making for a mirror finish.  This really did turn out cute and ok, even for a guy.

My sample card at Die Cut Divas is here.

Coffee Lovers' Blog Hop is time to show off your coffee/tea/chocolate creations

Welcome to your caffeine fix and my entry into the

This Caffeine Fix measures from top to bottom a little more than 5 inches.  The narrowest measurement at the bottom width is 2 inches to the top at about 3 1/2 inches.  I don't know why I never thought to do this before.  Also, I thought a scene would make this a fun card.  That liquid coffee swirling around in the cup is that wonderful Glossy Accents which is always fun to use and adds so much depth to a project.

City Adventure at A2Z Scrapbooking

This car is over 5 inches long and the height is almost 3 inches.  It opens from the bottom.  I took some Ranger Markers and water to color the car.  This digital car is easy to cut out by hand and I just cut the inside paper in the general shape of the car by holding the car and cutting the paper under the car.  You just crease the line on the blank car with a Score-pad and glue the top car onto the bottom shape.  I always wanted to make this car bigger and NOW it is bigger!    The cool thing about digitals is that they can be made any size.  I colored the car with the marker and then ran my water pen over the colors.  I think one of my pens was low on color and that is why the door looks a different color.

I hope you like my "News" car.

Hero Arts 90 Minute Scramble # 154 running 24 hours

Hero Arts 90 Minute Scramble # 154 running 24 hours
And here's the link to the Hero Arts group on Flickr.
A BIG AND - It is a Shape Challenge at

I made this card  in one hour and uploaded information about it in less than the 90 minutes allotted.  SCORE.  I can hardly believe I actually got this done so quickly.

Oh, I DO LOVE this new set and can't get enough of it.  This photo does not show the dark grey at the top of the bottle very well, but the actual shade is the same as the whale at the end of the sentiment.  There are so many dies and stamps with this set that I think it is well worth the purchase of both.  Isn't this great for a guy card or change the colors up and I think it would look cute for a fellow gal.

Supplies:

Morgan's ArtWorld - New Release for June

There's a new release at Morgan's ArtWorld and it's pretty fabulous.  Morgan has a way with dragons and I chose one of the new releases to color and make into a card.  The coloring is what I love.  You can be free in color choices, techniques and  styles.

My sample for the new release below, plus a close-up.

I can see coloring this in so many different color combinations.  I have been tending to the blues and greens lately and no surprise here.  I added small blue gemstones to the dress and dragon scales, with three pink gems added to the panel.  I took Copic colors I thought might work and then made them work.

Copics:
Eyes and woman's hair Y13, Y19
Eye Liner B79
Dragon skin BV0000, BV000, B10, V93
Dragon scales and woman's dress BG13, BG15
Woman's skin E00, E01

Some Pup Summer Fun

Let's have some SUMMER FUN!  This month, it's all about summer fun at Die Cut Divas and the sponsor is none other than Bugaboo Stamps.

It's just a Bug Pup Summer and I couldn't resist these pups.  I used a colored image for the card on the right and an uncolored image on the left card, which I colored with Copic markers.  I love a TWO FOR ONE.  I did have similar colors in mind, so it was very easy to color and have fun with this pup.

I used some Novu black dots on the floaters on the hands on both cards.  Fun and cute.

I put a bit of Blue Midnight Nuvo on the tire and swirled it a bit, giving the tire a tire-type shine.

Bugaboo images come in such a fun range and I couldn't resist our team's selections this month.  Have fun and join in the challenge of Summer Fun.

This cute little pup is found at Bugaboo Stamps right here.

My Calendar

Home made calendar.  The first photo shows the front and back covers of my calendar.  They are cut from a Graphics 45 paper pad (12" X 12").  I just fell in love the the cover and it's perfect for my calendar.  No stamping yet.  March through August 2017 is my start of the calendar.  I could place more pages here, but it's picture heavy as it is.

The poinsettia is die cut from a Elizabeth Craft Designs die.  I had made it and not used it.  It's the perfect color and I just had to use it on the cover.

I
chose double-sided papers to go into the calendar and stamped front and back of each page with the Hero Arts Calendar Bold Prints stamp.  I was wondering if some of the patterns would obscure the stamp, but it didn't.  I have no trouble making notes and printing and using digital stamps and regular stamping on the pages.

The umbrellas are from a Hero Arts cut file at A2Z   I started my calendar mid-March and April is on the back of March.  June is on the back of the May Calendar page.  I have all kinds of notes and love the page.  A key die-cut from a soda can is covered with a silver pen.

May is a celebration of Carnaval in San Francisco on May 27 and 28.  That's why I chose the paper and San Francisco Designation stamp.

You can see the calendar below the "APRIL" die cut letters.   I can still write dates and info in the squares.  I stamped the umbrella with the wood block Paris stamp on the umbrella.  The umbrellas are from a cut files available at A2Z, called Weather Cuts Digital File.
[caption id="attachment_39995" align="aligncenter" width="515"]Calendar Bold Prints Calendar Bold

The butterflies are from a stamp set available at A2Z Scrapbooking called Color Layering Butterflies.

July is bright and cherry with flowers as the background.   I thought the new stamp set of Enjoy the Journey was perfect for this enchanting background.  A bottle with some nautical images is perfect for this calendar.  I know I will enjoy this so much.

The pattern for August may not be as imposing or enchanting as other patterns, but I would love to travel out of the hot valley here in Sacramento.
The ships from Enjoy the Journey work for me.

Each calendar uses the Calendar Bold Prints stamp from Hero Arts.  Remember, if you can't find it at A2Z, you can custom order it.

You can use code Arlene15 at checkout to receive 15% off your purchase of $25 or more (before tax and shipping).  If you need craft items that you don’t see in the store, don’t forget you can special order them here at the A2ZScrapbooking Store.

Helen is Modern and Elusive

Helen is Modern and Elusive.  I absolutely love this image because of the shape of the face, the hair style, the directness of the gaze and simplicity of the image.  You could literally color this image over and over again with so many spectacular results.  Well, I could wish to.

Discover this image at Crafts & Me and join our challenge of "Anything Goes" starting today on the blog.

A Little Fried Chicken

Join the Die Cut Divas' Challenge here.

Join the Die Cut Divas' Challenge here.  Our team chose the most delightful digitals for this month.  I couldn't help pairing this Bugaboo image and sentiment with the Hero Arts stamp "Life is" from an old set.  Isn't this fun and such a reminder of summer?  I love that chicken.

Fried Chicken, everyone, the sun is high and the chicken is hot!
