Tag, You're It

It is Thank You time at Die Cut Divas.  The last day of the month, we take time to say "thank you" to our monthly sponsor.  See the DTss cards here.

Below is my tag for the Die Cut Divas.  There is still time to join the "Anything Goes" challenge.  I used a lovely stamp set and die cut it with a smaller tag die and then fuzzy cut the little tip of the flower that was cut off, adhered it on the side.  I rather like the way it turned out.  The darker edges make the flower pop from the card.

It's All About Galoshes For Me and A2Z Scrapbooking

It's Digital Duel time at A2Z Scrapbooking.  Be sure to check out A2Z to find out what my companion dueler has created.  Here is my digital project, a card that uses galoshes.  You could say GOSH, miss you, however I used GALOSHES in the sentiment.  I thought this was a fun card.  I copied the boots from the kit into a Word document and sized them and used the colors in Word.  Easy to do.

New Challenge and Sponsor for April Die Cut Divas

The fabulous Altenew is the Die Cut Divas' sponsor for April.

The theme is simply "Anything Goes".  Please enter the challenge at Die Cut Divas.

I've been playing with this stamp set and wanted to let you see how I used both the new die and the Altenew lighthouse set.  I love lighthouse scenes,  NO FOOLING.

If there seem to be slices out of the card, there are, no fooling.  I used a new die cut from Altenew plus a stamp set I couldn't do without. I could use this stamp set all the time. And YES, the lighthouse is leaning.  oh well.

As you can see, it's not perfect, but it works for me.

It's all about the Triangles

I couldn't resist the triangles, new at Altenew.  They carrry the Altenew Mini Blossom Die Cutting Machine which is compact and portable.

Visit Die Cut Divas for challenge rules and theme here. I'll show you the cards first and then how I made them.

Second card

Close-up of 2nd card

Shattered Triangle Dies come in two sizes and with several triangles, both with holes and without.  I used the large size and took time to glue them all together.  I started with the inner circle of six (6) triangles, then kept adding.  That's a lot of triangles, but I was determined to see how I could make a template to use for backgrounds.  It works.  I may even build it out more in a vertical way, then the orderly way it is now.

I thought I'd share a photo of the template after inking too. Pretty cool, eh?

Sizzix thinlits Friend (hello)
Distress Oxide inks (abandoned coral, fired brick, picked raspberry and candied apple on 1st card). Fired Brick and other red Oxides on 2nd card

Flower Power in April

If you are looking for the A2Z Scrapbooking & Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog hop, check here

I love the flowers and they do look like a wonderful pot of flowers with the petals free to lift above the centers of the flowers.  If you do not have a machine to cut the flowers, you can still print them out as they are so pretty.  Please join us in the A2Z Scrapbooking challenge this month.

I used a negative of the scored oval die cut from a card I made in January.  I used some Oxide Inks on my flowers and arranged them in a pot.

The addition of Fired Brick to the Fossilized Amber makes the flowers look like they are partially in shade.

Hero Arts Magnolia is Flower Power at A2Z

If you are looking for the A2Z Scrapbooking & Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog hop, check here

Be sure to visit A2Z Scrapbooking for the April Challenge.

This simple flower makes a tremendous statement when even lightly colored.  I chose an ombre paper shading into the upper part of the top panel and stamped off the paper.  The only colors I used were Copic markers BG0000 and B21 in the inner part of the flower and on the inward outer tips of the flowers.  I thought it had a soft feel to it.  This would have been a nice panel for a sympathy card too.

The dots of Nuvo Midnight Blue cover two dots of black ink.  I think they fit quite well.  There is almost no card that you cannot save.

Time for a New Challenge at Die Cut Divas

If you are looking for the A2Z Scrapbooking & Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog hop, check here

There are lovely flowers and some amazing sentiments in Altenew stamp sets.

At Die Cut Divas, the theme is simply "Anything Goes".

April 1st is April Fool's Day

The flowers were easy to color and I thought an outline in pale blue green would highlight the flowers.  I'm pleased with this card.
