A Basket Full

It's a Basket!

I tackled Craft Roulette's challenge this week which featured:
Project: Card with Ribbon
Colors: Circus
Element: September
Random: Hand cut

It doesn't matter how large or how small part of the project parameters are, it just if you use them.  I used
A ribbon at the top of the basket creating a Card with Ribbon
Circus colors include bright colors like yellow, green, red & earth (brown)
September 14th was National Coloring Day as the Element
I hand cut the ribbon in two & the bottoms of both sides of the ribbon (hand cut)

This basket is loaded with greens, reds, weeks, berries and birds.  I probably didn't need to fill it so full, but I couldn't help it.  I'm pleased with this and don't know what I'm going to use it for, but I think a sentiment like "find joy everyday" should leave it wide open.

A Big Thank You to Elizabeth Craft Designs

I made this card as inspiration for the Die Cut Diva's challenge,
an "Anything Goes" Challenge.  We all like those.

I used the corner of a beautiful piece of paper to cut for the balloon and I couldn't believe I found a solid red card stock that actually matched those flowers. That olive green bow was quite a surprise out of my stash too.  I've always loved this big balloon because it makes it so easy to make a birthday card.  Sorry it's not made anymore.

Just Sittin' In The Window

I was playing around with a stamp set I had never used.  Just in time for the Card making crunch before the holidays.

I have been going through my stamps and dies, checking to see if I really DO NEED all of the stamps and dies I have accumulated.  I had already die cut the girl and cat (there is a dog in the die-cut set too).  I just needed to color the window scene, girl and cat.  And done!  I'm happy with the scene and it will be headed out to someone in December.

Supplies:
Rubbernecker Girl in Window stamps & dies
Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Rectangle dies (no longer for sale)
Copic markers
Hero Arts card (set of cards w/typewriter on them) foundation
Double sided foam tape under panel & girl in the window

Starting a Little Journal

I really haven't been much into journaling, but I thought I'd give it a whirl.  I bought a little journal and made one page - yes, this is going to be slow going.  I wanted something for Fall, some soft Fall colors and I really do like this first page.  It may not be what most would do, but everyone is different.  I hope you can see the potential to start your own Art Journal.

My first play and page in my Art Journal

I thought the outside looked a bit drab & made this tag holder to go in the black outside panel.  It even looks good just like this, however it's not functional.  I made this pocket to tuck into the black panel of the journal itself.  I just wanted you to see the panel (made from the Timeless Rounded Corners set).  I cut the panel 4 times, cutting one of the panels to add more room inside the panel so I could make a pocket big enough to put the little tag in.  The fourth cut was thin silver paper and I glued everything together.  The silver panel was sprayed with lime and blue sprays with three of the flower die-cuts masking the silver paper.  I then sprayed the flowers with a dark blue over what was already sprayed, took the masking glue off and glued the 3 flowers on the rectangular tag inside.  I may work on adding something to the tag, but I rather like what I've done so far.

Here is the completed outside of the journal.  As you can see the outside of the panel is the reverse of the tag.  The flowers and rounded panel are part of the Timeless Rounded Corners die set.  Think about what you want and your pocketbook too.  I ordered the Square Art Journal , Timeless Rounded Corners,
Cabin Love and Journal Phrases 2 so that I would have a solid base on which to build with a mind on getting the most with the money I wanted to spend at this time.  I don't always do it this way, but I wanted to dip my foot into the journaling world without spending an arm and a leg, like I usually do.  LOL

My Favorite Things Box Card

MFT's annual Card Design Superstar contest

I do love My Favorite Things stamp and die sets (I have many, no, I will not tell you How many), just a lot.

I love this Box die set and that fun Car.  I don't cook and I don't really know many people who really love to cook, but I couldn't pass up the cute chefs.

Card with a Circle

Yes, I could play again at Craft Roulette and here are the parameters:
Project: Card with Circle(s)
Colors: Vegetable Garden
Element: Screen(s)
Random: Fuzz

Here's the result, which I have to say is light-hearted and fun.
The circle is the blue panel upon which a movie screen is sitting.  It's really a fuzzy screen with yellow, green and peach colors which would be in my garden, to be sure.  I added another reference to fuzz on the car bumper and made it fuzzy to see too.

I figured the stop sentiment would be good for any kind of event that I could use this card for, like birthdays, thank you...

I do have to say those little white die cuts for the mirrors are hard to keep track of.

It's All About the Snowman!

 It's all about the Snowman!

I dragged an old snowman out, kicking and screaming all the way.  I had the snowman and his companion little bird with their drinks already colored, just waiting to get out and enjoy a good time.  I think he's managing that good time just fine!

I chose Lucrecia to work with and she is a stunner.  I've done three cards, working with the sepia, no-lines and line images.  You really can do so much with all three types.

This first card, using the sepia image, is a Z-fold card and I've shown both the closed card and the open card below it.

My second card is the image with no-lines. I have used pretty much the same colors, but you can see how the colors turn out with the different images of Lucrecia.

For the final card, I'm using the lined image. As you can see immediately, her hair and eyes are much darker.  She is truly a gorgeous image to work with and I couldn't stop with using just one image.

I hope you like her and I'll pop the link in the Supply section below.

Good Luck

I have been playing again at Craft Roulette and the categories are:
Project: Card with a Belly Band (Good Luck band across the middle)
Colors: Daisy Garden (English Daisy is blue  - sky background)
Element: Good (sentiment of "Good Luck")
Random: Bark (Log the raccoon is standing on)
I've done 21 Challenges in a row.
Somehow the raccoons seem to fit with this pond style die as they seem to be lounging around a pond taking it easy, except for the raccoon in the "pond" of a night sky.  I sponged Oxide Distress ink, Vintage Photo on the front of the card after die cutting that great big hole in the card front.  I looked through my collection for bark and found I really wanted to use this stamp and die set (idea on the web site) to make an easy card.  I hid the log behind the "belly band" for a cute surprise.  I'll either write a note with a white gel pen, use a die sentiment or a sentiment on a small die-cut.  I will decide when I send it.

A Tri-Panel Card Made for Craft Roulette

I checked through my dies to see what I had that I could easily make a tri-panel card with and when I saw the film strip, I knew what I wanted to do as I had just put away another set of three Christmas gnomes.  I also didn't want to make my own background, so I went through my slimline backgrounds and narrowed it down to three and thought this one would work out fairly well with the colors and trees.

Project: Tri-Panel Card (film strip)
Colors: Farm House (white/red/green/brown where the house sits & Autumn sky
Element: Under leaf (leaves fall to the ground -brown boots on the gnomes
Random: Belt(s) (3 belts on the gnomes)

Now I have one more Christmas card done too!

August Card Chain Challenge

August Card Chain Challenge has ended and our cards are being revealed at the Card Chain Challenge, where we really do send and receive creations from all over the world.
You can see the directions and choices below.  I found it hard to decide which or how many options I wanted to try.  LOL

I was trying for fruits and came up friends, just maybe.  I used a digital background that was pre-colored, but I added more depth with darkening the teapot & some other items as well as adding some tan colors to the all white waves and curves of steam.  I do have a couple cherries and strawberries, but I saw that as a lost cause and hopefully "HELLO" is acceptable as friendship.  LOL
Even though the die cut "HELLO" is made of several layers, I thought it blended in too much, so added red and green stickles and yes, they certainly do stand out.

Whimsy Hello Word & Shadow Die

September With Morgan's Artworld

The September Challenge for Morgan's Artworld is
"Anything Goes" September 1st to September 27th.

You can use any image or project you have posted in September. For purchasing Morgan's ArtWorld Images, please visit the website at
Morgan's Fitzsimons Art Studio

My image, Wren, is available here  I took an extra part of the image (flower) and put it at the top to be in the corner.  I used a simple "thanks" to finish out the scene.  This may not be your normal wren, but I did discover that not all wrens are the little brown birds we see around us.

A Mushroom House - NOT FOR SALE!

The last time I used this house, Santa and Ms Claus lived there.  Not so this time.  We have the standard mushroom house for your needs.  I didn't want to put a sentiment inside or outside because I wasn't sure of how I would use this card.  A Thank You, Just a Note or Thanking of You would be the normal vision for my quaint house and I can always put such a sentiment on the underside of the red top.  I can't believe I did NO COLORING and only used one die.

Alene loves the bright red top of this mushroom house and the quaint look of this gigantic mushroom.  The fact that it has flowers gracing the outdoors makes this house even more charming.  Adding a bit of Antique Linen Oxide Ink gives the house some character.  Arlene at A Bit of This and That.

I made this card as part of the Die Cut Diva's challenge of "Anything Goes" and if anything goes, it's a Mushroom House, right?

FarmQuest General Store Challenge mushroom would be part of a general store, right?  It's just that this is a bit (quite a bit) larger than a regular mushroom and it's livable.  LOL  (If this doesn't qualify, it's ok)
