Hero Arts Sunshine Flowers for My Notebook

New to me - Sunshine Flowers Digital Kit

Having used a notebook last year, I was more than ready to get organized for 2018.  I couldn't think of colors or stamps to use and my choices surprised me because they are not winter or spring colors, but hot summer ones.  I followed my heart and chose Sunshine Flowers for my stamping kit to work with.  The colors pop and I think when our winter weather really hits with rain and fog, it will keep me happy and feeling like the sunshine is falling through the windows.

I have a patterned paper in each sleeve to keep track of what dates and products I'm using for each month for the next six months.   My post is on A2Z Scrapbooking.

Front page

Back page - Check the right side of the flower where just a little bit of paper is sticking down.  That was supposed to be a whole petal, but I didn't think anyone would miss it and you didn't, did you?

Close-up of back page and I still don't miss that lover petal on the right.

I added this page to my existing Notebook from 2017 and I'm ready to move forward into 2018.

A Little Girl from Sasayaki Glitter

Hi there,  I'm filling in for Dawn Bennett.  This is a new image for me and I wanted to do something with oranges, so I used orange and brown on the dress.  I may not be able to lay my hands on my marker colors.  I may have inadvertently cleaned up and thrown the list away.

Our cool sponsor is Sasayaki Glitter and they have some really cute images to color.
Our challenge is to use something new to you.

Check out Die Cut Divas for our challenge.

Here is my card with an image I've never used before.  I've used some different brown combinations for hair and fence.  A very cute little girl looking out at you.

A2Z Spiral Stencil For A New Challenge

Try Something New.  I doubt that this looks new, but it is. This is a new to me technique that I garnered from the Hero Arts Web site here.  If you receive the Hero Arts emails, then you will have watched the video.  I wanted to show the difference in this technique from directly inking the card through the stencil..

It's easier to watch the video than it is to explain it, so I'd suggest you watch the video to be able to use this technique for any stencil.  You do run it through your die cut machine.  What I have on the card I made for the new challenge is the negative of how you would normally color in the stencil to use.  It's simple and I wanted as much of the stencil to show the technique as I could.  I hope you try something new and enter our challenge this month at A2Z Scrapbooking.

My post is at A2Z Scrapbooking here.

You can view the post for the card below on my blog here.

An A2Z Make Your Own Day

Visit the blog at A2Z Scrapbooking for the January 1st, 2018 challenge, "New to Me".  The oval scored panel is a technique I learned from a video by Jennifer McGuire here. I took a sponge and moved it one way to bring out he texture of the panel after I scored it in two different directions.
