Let's Play at Craft Roulette

The Categories were so delightful, I put aside all of my other projects to work on this on.

Categories
Project: Card for a friend - sentiment (you're the best)
Colors: Bright Colors Red is definitely - a bright color to me
Element: Happy - sentiment (Happy Holidays)
Random: Partial Image -  Santa going down the chimney

I did not color anything on this card.  Don't mind me fainting... thud.  LOL  Guess what, Santa is stuck in that chimney much farther than he is supposed to be.  His buckle and waist should be visible, but I had stuck and glued his bottom in and it looked good to me, but I found an extra piece and looked at the picture and realized oh, not exactly the same.  I think Santa is REALLY stuck now.

Supplies:
Brass & Bliss Stuck Santa die
Brass & Bliss Tangled Moose (Happy Holidays)
Rubbernecker NOW Brass & Bliss - Mini Phrases #1 - (You're the Best) - no longer available
Nuvo Crystal Drops - Metallic - Autumn Red
Christmas paper pad over 10 years old

Craft Roulette Strikes Again A Week Ago

 Craft Roulette Strikes Again

I had my card finished on Thursday, but kind of spazzed out about entering it, so I'm going to chow you the card I made using

Project: Book Binding Card - Binding panel
Colors: Candy - hard candies in lots of colors
Element: Rhymes with Ogg - log
Random: Letter(s) (ing) - sentiment, happy birthday

I needed a birthday card and thought I use the old Rubbernecker rubber stamp I really like.  I cut off the tabs of the MFT Snow Drifts to layer them as small hills and sponged the sky using the cloud stencil to where the top of the "hills" would come.  I colored three of those darling raccoons and the log. Thinking I needed some sun I die cut the sun and sponged it yellow.  Altogether a fun birthday card for a friend's Birthday on the 27th.  The edge of the "book binding" is from an old Xmas card.

Supplies:
My Favorite Things Snow Drifts
My Favorite Things Yuzu Little Rascals stamps and dies
My Favorite Things Cloud Stencil
Rubbernecker Birthday Balloons - not in the new Brass & Bliss website
Brass & Bliss Sun Moon die cut
Distress Inks Broken China, Lucky Clover, Squeezed Lemonade & Twisted Citron

Time for Craft Roulette Categories

February 7, 2025 Craft Roulette Wheel gave us the following criteria:
Project: Card w/3 folds (lots of folds for snowdrifts inside the box)
Colors: Sweaters (come in all colors)
Element: Footwear (Santa's boots)
Random: Post-it (the black post-it on the front is glued on)

I have no idea where I got black post-its, but there you go.  I think this is the first time I've used one to put on a card.  I think a company sent this little batch to me in an order, but I did keep them and it actually made sense to use them. I just had to show you all that out in the world, there are black post-its.

I almost ran out of Christmas cards last year so I need to find endless ways to make more for this year.  I cut the background out of a card I received for Xmas about 4 years ago.

Picture with the black post-it notes beside the card.

Supplies:

My Favorite Things Outside the Box
My Favorite Things Outside the Box Level Up
Rubbernecker (became Brass and Bliss, but not on that site) - Santa Needs a Hug
Brass and Bliss In Case You Get Cold stamps & dies
Black post-it notes (I couldn't believe it either)

Fun Card to Make for Craft Roulette

A couple weeks ago, the challenge was:
Project:: Tags - Tag is the Tag card itself.
Colors: Disney - The background is on the theme of "Frozen"
Element: January - still snow on the ground & trees in North America
Random: Branch(es)(ing)  - Trees have branches whether you can see them or not

I forgot to post this, but wanted to show what I came up with:

I had purchased these tag cards (A2 size) at Michaels YEARS ago and just didn't put them to use.
I love the way this turned out.  This is my first time putting snow on a tree, and not tooooo bad.

I took the Tag card and put a blue speckled with white card stock on top and trimmed off all sides to match the tag base with a quick hole punch on the card stock itself.  I wanted to get more use out of my purchase of the snow banks I ordered and had 5 trees already cut on my desk.  I chose a sentiment already on the strip of paper and ta-da, done.  This would be a great Christmas card with a different sentiment.

Supplies:
Tag card from a Michaels purchase years ago
Birch Press Design Wavy Hillside
Brass and Bliss Evergreen tree die
Eileen's Snow
Sentiment on table, not sure of brand
Vagabond die cut machine
Hole punch

A Craft Roulette Card Again

Last Friday, I watched Craft Roulette and got some great ideas from the Chatter Boxes, a fun name for all the people giving interpretations and suggestions on the categories spit out by the Wheel.

Here's the Wheel's categories
Project: Card with Belly Band - Santa's belt (right above the coat trim
Colors: Cottage - reds, blues, white
Element: Coat(s) - Santa's wearing a coat
Random: Upcycled - scene panel was front of a Xmas card from a friend

It was so much fun putting this together and I do think this Santa is fun.

Elizabeth Craft Sentiment die cut (in my bag of sentiments) Never used.

This Was a Toughie From Craft Roulette

On Friday, March 29, the Wheel spun again and delivered the fatal blow.
Project: Joy Fold Card
Colors: Buggy Ride
Element: Stick(s) and Stone(s)
Random: Trim(s) or Trimming(s)

Ahhh, yeah, right... All I could think of was that saying: "Sticks and Stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me".

Today, I finally decided to just go with the flow. I did make a Joy Fold Card.  On the front of the card are sticks & stones and trim.  Stones are the stone tiles (green crosses on white) while the two sticks sticking out on the left side are the sticks.  The branch is ticked behind the Ribbon Trim on the vertical.  A buggy ride would pass under the sky and pass by a car.

Inside of Card below:
I felt a buggy ride would pass lots of leaves on the ground and even a zoo.  There is even trim on the inside left side of the card.

I chose Stone as the stone tile on the floor and put the little twigs tucked into my Trim as the sticks.  A Buggy Ride might pass a zoo and other cars.  It's not that a Joy Fold card is that difficult, but I find it unwieldly and not what I usually like to create.

Supplies:
Rubbernecker stamps Splatter Leaves
Rubbernecker stamps Bunch of Bears
Rubbernecker stamp & die set Two Tone - car
Waffle Flower Hello Friend Sentiments stamp & die set
papers from left overs in stash
Copic markers

California Dreamin'

 California Dreamin'

Thank you to Linda of DCD for sending me this great stamp set from Hero Arts.  Linda found the right place for this stamp set and I had fun creating this fun card.  A little Copic marker here, a little Copic marker there and it's off to a friend who moved to Illinois from California.  I'm here to stay, no snow for me to shovel.  LOL

I'm having trouble inserting my photos from my files and I will work on this, but I can download directly from my photos.  This is a small card, but one that will be well received by my friend in the Chicago area as she lived here in California for most of her life.  AND she's coming back for a visit soon, well, fairly soon.

This is a small square card, but perfect to fit in an A2 envelope. Wait until you see the cute envelope I made for this card.  I think Lesley's mailman will be hearing Owl sounds coming from his mailbag.

Inside of card and a perfect sentiment

The Envelope below - that's right.  I blame Kat Scrappiness for making this cute stamp set.  There's a separate owl and lots of fun sayings.  I wrote the name and address inside the large house and mailed it on its way after checking with the post office that I could indeed mail this.  What a cute surprise awaits my friend when she receives her mail in a few days. To color this image, I put paper in the envelope just in case the markers bled through to the back.

Supplies:
Hero Arts Golden State
Kat Scrappiness Owl Envelope Art Stamp set (only $4.99 right now)
Rubbernecker Nested RC Square - small die set
Kat Scrappiness Never Ending Square dies
The Paper Studio enamel dot - yellow
Copic markers

Just Sittin' In The Window

I was playing around with a stamp set I had never used.  Just in time for the Card making crunch before the holidays.

I have been going through my stamps and dies, checking to see if I really DO NEED all of the stamps and dies I have accumulated.  I had already die cut the girl and cat (there is a dog in the die-cut set too).  I just needed to color the window scene, girl and cat.  And done!  I'm happy with the scene and it will be headed out to someone in December.

Supplies:
Rubbernecker Girl in Window stamps & dies
Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Rectangle dies (no longer for sale)
Copic markers
Hero Arts card (set of cards w/typewriter on them) foundation
Double sided foam tape under panel & girl in the window

August Card Chain Challenge

August Card Chain Challenge has ended and our cards are being revealed at the Card Chain Challenge, where we really do send and receive creations from all over the world.
You can see the directions and choices below.  I found it hard to decide which or how many options I wanted to try.  LOL

I was trying for fruits and came up friends, just maybe.  I used a digital background that was pre-colored, but I added more depth with darkening the teapot & some other items as well as adding some tan colors to the all white waves and curves of steam.  I do have a couple cherries and strawberries, but I saw that as a lost cause and hopefully "HELLO" is acceptable as friendship.  LOL
Even though the die cut "HELLO" is made of several layers, I thought it blended in too much, so added red and green stickles and yes, they certainly do stand out.

Supplies:
Whimsy Hello Word & Shadow Die

A Gnome and A Mailbox

My gnome is sending presents, but it looks like the mailbox is too small, oh, so sad.  LOL
Some Christmas blogs urged me to make a Christmas card and so I have!  I wanted to try some new sprays and I think I overdid it with the green, oh well, maybe the gnome has been drinking too much green beer.   I received these green rectangles a long time ago and cannot remember who sent them to me, but I finally used them to set the scene for a gnome who's trying to fit a few too many packages into that little mailbox.

Supplies:
Rubbernecker Donovan's Gnomes stamps & matching dies

Two Folds, Planter Colors, Happy Face and Something Old

 What do you do with
Two Folds, Planter Colors, Happy Face and Something OLD?

That's what I said and that's what came up on Craft Roulette.  Everyone has a unique something OLD, don't they?

Here's what I did for a card containing these four categories.  First, I was running late and so the first card is the one I submitted with only hours to go.  However, I did work on it the next day and it turned out very cute.  If I'd left the windows off, I would have put something behind them, but I'm ok with the way my windows look.  I forgot to save my original

A Craft Roulette Picnic?

 Craft Roulette Play Time

You might say everyone had a picnic on the Craft Roulette wheel turning, fun spinning evening.

I made two cards and one new die snuck into both of them.  A few dies made it into my house from Altenew on Friday morning and I wanted to try the one that had a "congrats" built into the die frame for a birthday card.  When the unused section fell free of the die, I HAD to use the inside sections too, so instead of one card, it became two.
#1 card

The inside of the frame from card #1 is now on the card below framed by a white frame border.

Supplies:

Both Cards:

Letting Your Rustic Side Out

I again found myself at Craft Roulette figuring out the best way to use the categories in episode # 169 which featured the following:
Product: See Through - Acetate window
Colors: Rustic Garden - Distress inks & woman's dress
Element: Fashion - Fashion woman image
Random: Hexagon - Beehive

The only hexagon shape I had was the beehive that I didn't have to cut by hand.  Obviously I cut a hole and used an acetate sheet for my window.   I had cut two by mistake and also cut a hole in another piece of paper to match the oval on the fron of the card.  I won't go into how that didn't work out for me trying to glue what I thought was one acetate piece to the paper piece.  I began again and just taped the entire front inside of the card and stuck the acetate to the inside.  Not Pretty, but for right now, I am DONE with it.  Perhaps I'll let a week go bye and calmly consider how to cover the tape up from the inside.  LOL

A Play Day with Craft Roulette

Our Spin of the Wheel for Episode #166 brought up:
Project: Small Bag - hand bag
Colors: Rainbow - background
Element: Wheel - car wheel
Random: Shimmer - Wink of Stella

I knew which stamps I wanted to use, but not sure how to put them together and finally decided on a Shadow Box card.  I could have my lady with her shopping bag and great old car together. I thought the background stripes fit the rainbow colors for the most part with the purple car adding that great color for a jalopy.

I wish you could see the sparkle on the gal's dress and old car.

Supplies:

Who Doesn't Need A Food Truck?

I do love Elizabeth Craft's Food Truck, but I love and have so many of her wonderful dies, so I've been tempted, but had not succumbed yet.  I was lured into the Spellbinders website just looking around and lo and behold, there was a rather large food truck.  I think I could make this into a Christmas Gift Tag as the size is 4.45 x 2.80 inches.  The main die does not have the cut-out so it's doable as a nice folded gift card on a present.  The cut-out is a separate piece.  There are not too many pieces for which I am grateful.  LOL  PLUS it was only $5.

Just look at that awning!  I think that's the part I like the best.  It folds down for mailing.  This is the first time I've used the truck die or the Sunny Studio Cruisin' Cuisine stamps sentiment.  So many words and you can make many different sentiments.

The donuts and sentiment (3 separate sentiments) are from another smaller food truck set from Sunny Studio, which I love.  I think the donuts and sentiments work well here. I've sent this card to a friend to cheer her up and I think it will.

The three gals are from Rubbernecker and I only stamped the head and shoulders. I used the red rubber stamp and matching die, however these stamps have been discontinued, but they brought the image back in digital form (png).

Spellbinders Food Truck, Large Die of the Month (July 2022)

It's All About the Scarves

I had to use a new stamp and die set right away!

I'm not sure why I wanted these cute guys to be on clouds, but I bypassed the snow drifts for the clouds and I just think snowmen deserve to be on clouds.  I had this ECD fence on my table and decided to use it too.  I almost threw this piece away.  I did want to glue it on the inside of the card, but put the glue on the back of the fence by mistake and just went with it.  I think it turned out so cute, much cuter than it seems to show here.   I fussy cut them out because I put the matching dies in the wrong bundle and can't find them yet.  LOL  I had precut some holiday sentiments, so I'm not sure what die I used.

Supplies:
Rubbernecker In Case You Get Cold stamp set (matching die here)
