A Farewell to Elizabeth Craft Designs for This Month.

The Die Cut Divas' Theme is "Your Favorite Die Cut Shapes".
You only have until 9:00 p.m. tonight to enter here

I think we all have many favorite die cuts from square or round to houses and forests.  My first card is a slimline card, which I haven't done in quite some time.  I've cut an Elizabeth Craft Designs (ECD) fence to make it into train tracks by cutting off the fence tops.  I had fallen in love with a card from an ECD DT when these die cuts came out and had to get that fence just to make train tracks.

I made my own sky and couldn't find my ECD cloud stencil so I chose Broken China Distress Oxide ink to sponge in a sky.  I tore up some paper and sponged away on the panel.  I put the sponged panel down and realized I had made mountains instead of clouds.  This is one mistake I love.  I always hate to give away my train cards.

For my next card, I only used the train engine and made a mini slimline card.  I used this dotted patterned paper because somehow it just reminds me of a blue sky with snowflakes and is a bit whimsical.

I happen to like using Nuvo drops for those small dots that seem to disappear upon taking them out of the dies, no matter how I try to corral them,

Supplies on both cards:
Elizabeth Craft Designs Holiday Train
Elizabeth Craft Designs Sentiment die set containing both sentiments on the cards

More Elizabeth Craft Favorites

I've always felt these mugs were just so much fun and have used them as Christmas tags before, but I am going to make some more to give away to friends.

The one thing I do differently to my mugs when putting them together as tags is that I sandwich the whipped cream die cut between the chocolate die cut and the mug die cut so that the back of the tag only shows the two dies cuts instead of three.

Be sure to join the Die Cut Divas to enter the challenge of "Your Favorite Die"

Finally Done!

Would you like these categories?  I didn't.

Project: Anniversary (4th of July in U.S.)
Color: Salad (fruit Salad - lemons, blueberries, raspberries, oranges)
Element: New (design for me & using the number/letters of set)
Random: Folded Corner (small piece of patterned paper folded in at bottom right)

I stared on my card, but found I had placed my patterned paper incorrected and had to peel off the narrow panel and put it on the other side, making the other pattern on the right side.  I just made due with the new design and it has worked out well.  There was minimal damage to the rest of the card, because I could cover it up.   I couldn't find any of my dies with numbers or letters and finally found two sets at the same time.  I had a frustrating time with putting this card together and almost forgot the folded corner.  BUT it is DONE!

Supplies:
Elizabeth Craft Designs Backyard Barbeque
Elizabeth Craft Designs Die set - Words 1 Celebration
Elizabeth Craft Designs - 4th of July no longer available
Sizzix thinlits ABC
Copic markers
Vagabond die cut machine

Anything Goes at The Creative Crafters

The Creative  Crafters starts a monthly challenge every 15th of the month and I've made a Christmas card as inspiration for this month.  You don't have to make a Christmas card because this challenge is always "Anything Goes".

Be sure to join The Creative  Crafters challenge!

I die-cut this wonderful bird house a number of times so I could just grab whatever paper die-cuts I wanted.  When I'm ready to work on pop-up cards, I like to be able to just pull out the parts I want to work on without pulling out the die cut machine.  I've made panels out of scraps so I could use up my scraps.

One of my crazy bird houses is here

Lots of Dies on this Card

Yet again, I was able to enter Craft Roulette challenge

Project: Holiday (summer holiday)
Colors: Tropics (greens orange, brown)
Element: Wheels (scooter has wheels)
Random: Geometric Shape(s) (scallop, rectangle, circle)

If you look at my list of supplies, you may be wondering how I used the Postage Collage die in this card.  Here's what I did.

1. Cut an 8" by 11 1/2" Copic paper into 4 quarters
2. Center the Postage Collage Die in the center of the quarter paper & tape to paper
3. Die cut and keep both the outside outline & the regular die cut
4.  Use the outside outline to frame any A2 card

I've had the calendar picture for years and it worked out so well as the background for a tropical holiday card.  I added some palm trees and what's better than a scooter to get around on an island for your summer holidays?

Spin That Wheel!

 Spin That Wheel!

On May 31st, that wheel went round and round at Craft Roulette and the results are:

Project: A2 size card (this is an A2 size card)
Colors: French Cafe (colors of French flag - blue, white, red)
Element: June (riding a scooter, walking a dog)
Random: Polka Dots (Chic lady's shirt)

I really had a lot of fun with this one.  I had just received this set about a week or so before, so this is the first time using it.  I put glossy accents all over the scooter and the chic lady's shoes while I spread Wink of Stella across the sky.  I left the bottom under the Eiffel Tower glitter free. The sentiment says "Paris is always a good idea".

Supplies:
Scrappy Tails J'adore (Paris Besties) stamps & die bundle
Copic markers
Blue cardstock
Hero Hues Enamel Dots - clear
Altenew enamel dots Essential Black and White (stars & hearts)

May Card Chain Challenge Reveal

I'm so glad we are still doing the Card Chain Challenge.  It's such fun to receive a card and to send a card anywhere around the world.

The challenge directions include a Color, Sketch, Theme and Product/Technique option and within the theme option is always "Friendship", so you never have to really worry if you just blank out on the other options.

I didn't start out with this stencil or die.  I didn't like how the first panel I stenciled turned out and started over with this die.  Here I used two different oxide inks to  one of the stencils from the a Postage Collage stencil set.

Supplies:
Waffle Flower Postage Collage Die
Waffle Flower Books and Coffee Combo (both stamps & dies)
Waffle Flower Hello Friend Combo (both stamps & dies)
Waffle Flower Postage Collage Coloring Stencil (1 of 2)
Hero Hues Enamel Dots - clear
Copic markers

June Begins with Elizabeth Craft Desings

Time to get ready to use your Favorite Die Cut Shapes at Die Cut Divas' here.

I think this is a cute die and have even made a Christmas house out of it.  The set really has all the dies you need.  You can change where you put your windows, door, flowers or toadstool. This is easy to put together and fun too.
