Last Day for Bugaboo Birthday Challenge

I think Bugaboo digital images would make anyone smile and especially on their birthday.  That's what Die Cut Divas' challenge is all about this month.  You only have until 9:00 p.m. Pacific time to enter the challenge at Die Cut Divas.

The theme is BIRTHDAYS
Winner will receive a $12 gift code to shop the store.

It may not be your birthday, but it's someone's birthday, so it's time to make the Die Cut Divas' (DCD) challenge of the month "Birthdays".  What is a birthday without ice cream?  If nothing else, this says summer and fun.  The colors shout it.

I had some pieces of checkered white and yellow paper that couldn't have been better to layer the ice cream shop upon.  Having a great premade card as the base made this an easy card to make.

June With Bugaboo

It may not be your birthday, but it's someone's birthday, so it's time to make the Die Cut Divas' (DCD) theme of the month "Birthdays".

Since Bugaboo is the DCD sponsor this month and I love the "Sunbonnet" images from Bugaboo, so I went with the Sunbonnet Birthday Cake in red tones.  Red is one of my favorite colors and I decided to go monotone for the most part - I guess I could have had red flames, but, no, they are Nuvo Ripened Pumpkin, so still in the reddish tones.  However, if you didn't notice, my cake frosting is a creamy gooey mass of Nuvo Simply White drops.

When you want to coordinate a matt with the image colors, just use your Copic color to edge the paper enough so that it is well covered, but you don't waste your Copics.  I used a white square, colored with Copic R29, to create a scallop pattern when viewed from the outside in.

See the gooey frosting below

It's Autumn with Bugaboo Stamps and time to inspire you to join the Die Cut Divas' Autumn Challenge.  Make it Autumnal or Halloweenish and join us at Die Cut Divas.
Bugaboo Stamps

I have always loved Halloween because it was always fun to dress up and give out little Halloween cards at grade school as I was growing up.  Now I love greeting Halloweeners at my door to see the fun costumes and give some candy out.  I made a spooky card for this last day of October, fun and a bit spooky.

Thoughts of rain enter our heads come October and this bear just appealed to me because he's cute and holding a patched umbrella.   We have a long summer with no rain (as always) and now it's time to fill up our dams and get wet!

How much cuteness can you deal with in the rain?  I looked up a quote about Autumn and found a very thoughtful and wonderful quote that I think fits October musings very well.  The quote reads "Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons" by Jim Bishop.

I zig-zagged my way across the sky surface with a BG0000 or BG000 marker to add a bit of interest.

This guy is layered and layered and layered. I didn't know when to stop, I guess. This little dog was fast and easy to color (image is in black & white and pre-colored). I just took Copic marker B000 and make diagonal lines across the panel after I was finished, found a sentiment I liked (Hero Arts) and started layering in white and blues.

To say the least, I had FUN with this image. Poor chicken is getting sunburned all over and not very evenly either. I thought this sentiment fit the fun and playful image. I hope you are enjoying your summer and taking it easy.

Bugaboo and Turkey?

Last day of the November challenge at Die Cut Divas and good luck to you.

I am in the mood for Autumn and turkey.  I found a bag of  silk Autumn leaves in my garage and had to scatter them with my card to take a picture.  See that strip of gold glitter tape on the left side - I had to cover a mistake.  I ran a 1/2 inch wide double sided tape up that side and then realized it wasn't the back side of the die-cut, but the front.  I grabbed the gold glitter tape and ran it on top of the double-sided tape.

You can save almost anything.  I hope you like this little gal because I think they are so much fun.

Flowers for May and Mothers

I did make a Mother's Day Card and wanted to show it off after I gave it away.  It was quite sunny when I took the photo so it's a bit, well, a lot of yellow and sunshine yellow to deal with in the photo.  In real life, it's NOT as  bright as it looks here.

This first photo shows the finished card and the second photo shows how I worked from oranges and yellows to black, oranges and yellows.

This second card shows the actual shade of yellows so you can see how the addition of the edging made this card fell more complete.

Bugaboo's Spring Window

There is still time to join in the Die Cut Divas' challenge to use flowers in your project.  May has 31 days, so you still have days to create and enter.  Die Cut Divas has a great challenge every month!

I created a black and white brick background to set this window in.  I can't even make a straight line or anything looking like brick, but I think with the sassy cat in the window, it sort of works.  It was fun to say the least.

The reason I wanted to add brick was because I had first colored the inside of the house with the cat looking back out the window as an outside view with floating clouds.  Then I realized that the cat was indoors and the flowers were outdoors, so coloring clouds on the inside was NOT ideal.  I am hoping the inside represents wall paper now.  Oh well.

Bugaboo Floral Trio Times 3

Check out Die Cut Divas to enter the Flower Challenge this month.  I printed this trio three times and colored one of each flower while leaving the others black and white.  I thought a scallop edge would work with the squares.  I used the same Copic colors on the sentiments that I used on the flowers and added Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Bugaboo Flower Shelf

I've been practicing coloring to show light shining on different shaped surfaces and I had a lot of fun with this particular image with lots of shapes to practice coloring.  First I made the card without a sentiment, but felt it was missing something and it was.  This would work for a Mother's Day card for a friend.

From Graveyard to Globe

I just had too much fun with the MOOD BOARD and Bugaboo Stamps that I kept making cards.  I am going to have to watch that.

I think the color combo worked so well for the creepy zombie scene.  It was so much fun, really, just making fun changes from color to color.

Using the same color combo, this globe card turned out so very pretty.

Close-up

I cut the butterflies from the globe (I cropped the butterflies so I didn't waste paper) and colored them as well as parts of the inside of the globe in light blue-green. (BG0000 Some Nuvo Crystal Drops complete the scene

Autumn Owl to Winder Fairy

Be sure to play with the Die Cut Divas for the October MOOD challenge.  It should be fun and get you in the mood for Autumn. Our sponsor is Bugaboo Digi Stamps and they have some darling images.

MOOD BOARD

My cards for October 7th were fun to color and this owl scene was quite an easy scene to create. That little owl just makes me smile.

It was so much fun to add Nuvo Crystal drops to this little owl's eyes and the nails on the fence.  I love how Nuvo makes that pumpkin glisten.

I hope you like this little scene and the closeup.

I couldn't help myself. I had to see how a Winter fairy would look in Autumn colors, using the mood board above.  I think she turned out fantastic.  I actually love the leggings.  I hope you are inspired to go Autumn.
