Flutterbies for You

Sometimes it's just nice to color something that you can see the results almost immediately - instant gratification, so to speak.  I was in that mood today.  Some flutterbies were fluttering and flitting around my table, so I grabbed them and colored them.  I've been feeling better and better about leaving "white space" on my cards.  If you see little hairlike things at the bottom of my card, that's my green grass going brown.  Trying to conserve water during our dry summer here in California.  I hope you enjoy these butterflies and use some too - before the summer flits by.

Supplies:
Hero Arts Flutterbies (printable Butterfly Digital Kit)
Hero Arts Color Layering Butterflies (sentiment)

Anything But a Card

Morgans Artworld and Anything But a Card

I was banging my head against the wall on this one.  The image is an oval with some beautiful flowers and vines.  I meticulously colored and shaded and fell in love the with the delightful colors.  The head banging began here.  What shape did I really want to make this?  I didn't like my oval dies and when I tried the circular dies, I had the shape down.  More head banging again.  I realized I had never finished a tissue box I was working on because I had not settled down to figure out the folds on this first time cut on my Silhouette.  I checked the fold lines and finally it just clicked.  I finished my tissue box with a lacy edge and this oval wreath.  I think it turned out very well.  I'll keep it in my room.

A close-up of this beautiful image.  I love the colors,
bright and cheery.
My sample along with our team is here.

Let's Cycle

You can visit Die Cut Divas for the Summer Vacation challenge here.

I'm using a retired image from Simply B.  I LOVE this image and so glad I was able to grab her before she was retired.  I guess she just got tired of cycling.

I hadn't tried black hair with my Copics and I'm still learning, but I think she came out pretty cute.  I do so like this image.  Take a summer vacation to see a bit of France here..  This is my sample at Die Cut Divas.  To enter our challenge, click here.

California Dreamin'

You can visit Die Cut Divas for the Summer Vacation challenge here.

I have several images I wanted to show you, two of the bathing beauties from Simply B and a couple of that typical Hollywood profession of capturing action on film.  Read on.

It's HOT in Sacramento in August, so this little lady is hot.  This photo makes her look much oranger than she really is.  There is much more shading in her hair than showns here.  All in all, she really is pretty darn cute and is the stock picture of a California gal.

I had to color two of these little California beauties.
