The Critters of June

Challenge - Critters

It's all about the Critters - any kind of critter, just be sure there's a critter on your project as well as using a die-cut machine to cut your images/borders/panels... or to dry emboss some part of your project.

SheepSki Designs is the sponsor for
Die Cut Divas challenge.
You have until 9:00 p.m. Pacific to enter.

I took the oval nature of the design of this image and magnified it with the dies I used.  I also got caught up in the monochromatic color of greens.  It somehow works and has almost a watercolor effect here.

My first card is only about 5 1/2 X 3 1/2 inches, but I think it's so darn cute as just a little note.  And I've always wanted to use those clear enamel dots as bubbles, but never had the chance until now and I LOVE them bubbling up.

My second card features a cute little elephant.

A Cute SheepSki Elephant Visits Today

I wanted to make a cute and fast card today with very little coloring.  I opted for this cute elephant and wanted to try some digital backgrounds while I was playing.  Some stamping (clear stamps this time), a couple cool grays, blues and R01 Copics, some heat embossing on the sentiment and I was almost done.  I made some striped cards from leftovers and chose one of them to pop my elephant panel on.

Supplies:

Letting Your Rustic Side Out

I again found myself at Craft Roulette figuring out the best way to use the categories in episode # 169 which featured the following:
Product: See Through - Acetate window
Colors: Rustic Garden - Distress inks & woman's dress
Element: Fashion - Fashion woman image
Random: Hexagon - Beehive

The only hexagon shape I had was the beehive that I didn't have to cut by hand.  Obviously I cut a hole and used an acetate sheet for my window.   I had cut two by mistake and also cut a hole in another piece of paper to match the oval on the fron of the card.  I won't go into how that didn't work out for me trying to glue what I thought was one acetate piece to the paper piece.  I began again and just taped the entire front inside of the card and stuck the acetate to the inside.  Not Pretty, but for right now, I am DONE with it.  Perhaps I'll let a week go bye and calmly consider how to cover the tape up from the inside.  LOL

Festive Fancy Folds

I know it's the middle of summer (for us Northern Hemisphere), but I'm an ELF this month!

It's all about Fancy Folds, all kinds of folds this month.  What kinds of folds make you happy? Pop-up, Pocket, Easel, Waterfall, Accordion, Gate, Z and the list goes on!

Join me at Christmas Kickstart Challenge with
any and all of your fancy folds.

I chose the snow globe for the middle of the month to remind you that it's time to make those Christmas cards with some kind of a fancy fold. I love having dies that make it easy to make cards.  You could use different paper colors or color the die-cuts as I did.  I used Copic markers to color the scene and I wanted a red house.

I thought this image was rather lifelike and darling.  I thought she needed to go on a mini slimline card and so she is.  I used the largest Momento die to cut "Sally" out.  I had made the card months ago, just to see if I could use up some of the Washi tapes I had on hand that I rarely used.  They were all in the neutral tones and I put the "Sally" panel on foam tape right on top of the Washi taped card front.

I found some enamel dots that just about match the R83 colored "hi" sentiment, so used the dot for the dot over the "i" in hi.
