Last Day of our Hero Arts month of February

Are we Hero Arts Fans?  Yes I am!

The Challenge for this month is
Red and/or Pink Colors
As long as red and/or pink are the predominant color(s) on the project, it is good.
Be sure to enter your project by 9:00 p.m. Pacific time tonight.
I got this cute snowman for Christmas and he can be dashing in his top hat or comfy and warm in his Santa hat.  I like the contrast of the red background and the snowman in the first card.
I like the comfy and fun feel to the second card.

I don't see this Hero Arts Peeking Snowman on the HA website, so I feel very lucky to have purchased it while still available.  There are darling Peeking Bear, Elf and Reindeer dies available though.

1st card with Top Hat

2nd card with Santa Hat
The dies were fun to put together and they were perfect for the theme.

Enjoy your card making.

Are we Hero Arts Fans?  Yes I am!

The Challenge for this month is
Red and/or Pink Colors
As long as red and/or pink are the predominant color(s) on the project, it is good.

You can make a card, an ATC, a Tag, a journal, whatever you can imagine, just make it primarily red and/or pink colors.

I'm starting Winter cards early this year and my new (Santa gave me some very cute dies) Gingerbread Man is making his debut today.

My Favorite Things Has Been Lots of Fun

This is the last day of the Die Cut Divas challenge of making a Birthday Card.

I have had fun playing with my stamps to create birthday cards.  I have used this cute elephant set for many special occasions, but I don't think I've used the tri-frame more than a couple times during the years I've had it, but this month, it starred in my cards.

Supplies:

Thank You to Hero Arts

It's all about Shaker Cards

Last Day for the monthly challenge at Die Cut Diva's and I made a lovely Shaker Card, but found that Hero Arts no longer carries this die, however there are many dies that you could choose for that perfect shaker card or any type of card you wish.
I had some 4X6 inch foam sheets that I die cut with a HA Arches Infinity die so I didn't have to cut strips of double sided tape. I then glued 2 of the foam panels together and then glued to the back of the Window on the Garden panel.   I had cut some sentiments out and put them in a baggie for future use, however, I have no idea what brand they are and picked one that fit.

See the Chunky Glitter inside ready to shake.
Supplies:
Hero Arts Window on the Garden - not on Hero Arts site now
Hero Arts Arches Infinity dies that remain hidden behind this panel
Recollections Chunky Glitter
Foam Sheets (2) between the calendar page and the HA die cut panel
I don't remember what company the sentiment is from

The Creative Crafters for February

The Creative  Crafters starts a monthly challenge every 15th of the month and I've made a Birthday Day card as inspiration for this month.

This challenge is always "Anything Goes".
Be sure to join The Creative  Crafters challenge!

I made this card for my first born and it's in the mail, but should be there by now.
For some reason, I just switched from one thing to another to make and then chose what I had on my desk. I don't think he'll be unhappy with it, but if this had vegetables, it would be a no-no.
I was obviously into using dies on this one.  The Happy Birthday is a new die that I like.

Supplies:
Poppy Stamps Happy Birthday
Poppy Stamps Pointy Lattice Plate
Poppy Stamps Evangeline Pinpoint Frame
Hero Arts Berry Basket stamps

I got a new Hero Arts die

Say Hello to Hero Arts and Die Cut Diva's challenge which is to

Make A Shaker Card.

As you can see, I cut out the candles so the sequins would show through.  I die cut the circles, taping two dies together to obtain just the circles 3 or 4 times on the peach paper.  I also die cut the plastic top so I could fill it with sequins.  I looked for a sentiment that would fit the card and continued it inside.  I cut up the phrase "Sending Paper Hugs" to use on the front panel.

Supplies:
Hero Arts Holiday Candle Arrangement
Kat Scrappiness Sending Paper Hugs
QuicKutz Nested circle dies
Nuvo Festival Gold Pure Sheen Sequins

Hello Hero Arts

Say Hello to Hero Arts and Die Cut Diva's challenge which is to
Make A Shaker Card.

There are several dies in this truck die set and it really is a cute set. I decided to make the truck window the shaker.  It was an idea, but it is rather a small window for a shaker card.  Something never tried by me, but I think I might make the bed of the truck a shaker next time.
I stamped an owl on top of the moon and took a sentiment from that stamp & die set to make this more cohesive a design.  I used patterned paper rather than make a background from scratch.  I used several different colors of Nuvo Drops to add texture and fun.

Is It Really The Last Day for A Poppy?

Die Cut Divas is having a challenge sponsored by Poppy Stamps, so please do visit and enter the challenge, but you only have until 9:00 p.m. tonight to do so.

The challenge is "Sympathy".

Even though the challenge is sympathy, I decided to make a Christmas card with the exact same dies I used in my sympathy card, but with a change of sentiment.
I'm actually gaga over both of them.  The two frame dies are just gorgeous together and they don't look like anything great when you look at the dies.

I also used the same two frame dies here.

It's time to play with SheepSki Designs images.  Deciding which image to use is always a challenge for me as there are so many wonderful images to choose.

Be sure to play with the Die Cut Divas here for a chance to win three images of your choice from SheepSki Designs. The challenge is to use wet or dry embossing.

I can't quite capture the coloring of the flowers. I used some cool grays and BV colors in the vases. I am giving this card to a very good friend of mine and is really lovely in RL. Oh well, such is life.

Day of the Month Card Club

What's the Challenge this Month at Day of the Month Card Club?

I thought "No Way" am I going to be able to do anything for this challenge, but after my total brain collapse, I thought of two interpretations, totally different.  The other one I will reveal mid-way through the challenge.

Here's my more traditional interpretation for National U.S. Postage Stamp Day, a blending of old and new stamps.  The Post Card stamp is an old Hero Arts wood block stamp that I have had for many, many, many years.  Add another "many" to that.  I added some Scrappy Tails stamped and colored die cuts to make this a Holliday card with some snow to top it off.

Remember to have fun!
Supplies:
Hero Arts Wood Block stamp (post card) a very old wood block stamp
Scrappy Tails Santa's Workshop which includes the sentiments - "Tis the Season to be Jolly" and "Happy Holidays"

Thank you to Hero Arts!

A Big Thank You to Hero Arts for their sponsorship of Die Cut Divas.  You've had an extra day this year to enter as it's the 29th of February!

I hope you pop on over to the Die Cut Divas' challenge blog to enter, but you only have until 9:00 p.m. Pacific time, so be quick.

I thought these owls looked like they wanted to be Valentine love birds and after I had colored them, I put them down to check on a couple things and they were sitting on a die cut that was my first try and didn't work out.  I did toss that one, but those birds happened to be tossed onto this very same tree.  They looked like they belonged there, so here they are. Since I had to fit the tree die over a smaller die, I lost some of the trees, but I think it's perfect for this scene.
Supplies:
Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Classic October 2023 - Tree die
Hero Arts  My Monthly Hero Classic  November 2023 - Owl die
Sunny Studio Puppy Love stamps & matching dies - little blue hearts

December Card Chain Challenge Reveal

Yes, it's time again for a Card Chain Challenge Reveal!

December is always a special month at Card Chain Challenge with a very special challenge.  Not the regular Tic Tac Toe... NO.  It's
Tic-Tac-Tic-Tac-Toe!

I'm choosing the 2nd row down.
Bloom, Bird, Banana color, Bling and Bokeh

I chose a die set that has blooms as part of the design so I wouldn't have much trouble working a bird or flowers into the whole image.  I have to confess that I almost forgot the bird.
I purchased a wonderful pad of paper that is perfect for both the banana color and bokeh (the pleasing or aesthetic quality of out-of-focus blur in a photograph) in its pages, a two for one.  If you look at the sky through the flowers in the basket, I think the sky has an out of focus blur to it. I'm sticking with it even if you don't think so.

Time for the Reveal!
A Pop Up Card and I wanted to keep it.

California Dreamin'

 California Dreamin'

Thank you to Linda of DCD for sending me this great stamp set from Hero Arts.  Linda found the right place for this stamp set and I had fun creating this fun card.  A little Copic marker here, a little Copic marker there and it's off to a friend who moved to Illinois from California.  I'm here to stay, no snow for me to shovel.  LOL

I'm having trouble inserting my photos from my files and I will work on this, but I can download directly from my photos.  This is a small card, but one that will be well received by my friend in the Chicago area as she lived here in California for most of her life.  AND she's coming back for a visit soon, well, fairly soon.

This is a small square card, but perfect to fit in an A2 envelope. Wait until you see the cute envelope I made for this card.  I think Lesley's mailman will be hearing Owl sounds coming from his mailbag.

Inside of card and a perfect sentiment

The Envelope below - that's right.  I blame Kat Scrappiness for making this cute stamp set.  There's a separate owl and lots of fun sayings.  I wrote the name and address inside the large house and mailed it on its way after checking with the post office that I could indeed mail this.  What a cute surprise awaits my friend when she receives her mail in a few days. To color this image, I put paper in the envelope just in case the markers bled through to the back.

Supplies:
Hero Arts Golden State
Kat Scrappiness Owl Envelope Art Stamp set (only $4.99 right now)
Rubbernecker Nested RC Square - small die set
Kat Scrappiness Never Ending Square dies
The Paper Studio enamel dot - yellow
Copic markers

Letting Your Rustic Side Out

I again found myself at Craft Roulette figuring out the best way to use the categories in episode # 169 which featured the following:
Product: See Through - Acetate window
Colors: Rustic Garden - Distress inks & woman's dress
Element: Fashion - Fashion woman image
Random: Hexagon - Beehive

The only hexagon shape I had was the beehive that I didn't have to cut by hand.  Obviously I cut a hole and used an acetate sheet for my window.   I had cut two by mistake and also cut a hole in another piece of paper to match the oval on the fron of the card.  I won't go into how that didn't work out for me trying to glue what I thought was one acetate piece to the paper piece.  I began again and just taped the entire front inside of the card and stuck the acetate to the inside.  Not Pretty, but for right now, I am DONE with it.  Perhaps I'll let a week go bye and calmly consider how to cover the tape up from the inside.  LOL
