A Basket Full

It's a Basket!

I tackled Craft Roulette's challenge this week which featured:
Project: Card with Ribbon
Colors: Circus
Element: September
Random: Hand cut

It doesn't matter how large or how small part of the project parameters are, it just if you use them.  I used
A ribbon at the top of the basket creating a Card with Ribbon
Circus colors include bright colors like yellow, green, red & earth (brown)
September 14th was National Coloring Day as the Element
I hand cut the ribbon in two & the bottoms of both sides of the ribbon (hand cut)

This basket is loaded with greens, reds, weeks, berries and birds.  I probably didn't need to fill it so full, but I couldn't help it.  I'm pleased with this and don't know what I'm going to use it for, but I think a sentiment like "find joy everyday" should leave it wide open.

A Big Thank You to Elizabeth Craft Designs

I made this card as inspiration for the Die Cut Diva's challenge,
an "Anything Goes" Challenge.  We all like those.

I used the corner of a beautiful piece of paper to cut for the balloon and I couldn't believe I found a solid red card stock that actually matched those flowers. That olive green bow was quite a surprise out of my stash too.  I've always loved this big balloon because it makes it so easy to make a birthday card.  Sorry it's not made anymore.

Just Sittin' In The Window

I was playing around with a stamp set I had never used.  Just in time for the Card making crunch before the holidays.

I have been going through my stamps and dies, checking to see if I really DO NEED all of the stamps and dies I have accumulated.  I had already die cut the girl and cat (there is a dog in the die-cut set too).  I just needed to color the window scene, girl and cat.  And done!  I'm happy with the scene and it will be headed out to someone in December.

Supplies:
Rubbernecker Girl in Window stamps & dies
Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Rectangle dies (no longer for sale)
Copic markers
Hero Arts card (set of cards w/typewriter on them) foundation
Double sided foam tape under panel & girl in the window

Starting a Little Journal

I really haven't been much into journaling, but I thought I'd give it a whirl.  I bought a little journal and made one page - yes, this is going to be slow going.  I wanted something for Fall, some soft Fall colors and I really do like this first page.  It may not be what most would do, but everyone is different.  I hope you can see the potential to start your own Art Journal.

My first play and page in my Art Journal

I thought the outside looked a bit drab & made this tag holder to go in the black outside panel.  It even looks good just like this, however it's not functional.  I made this pocket to tuck into the black panel of the journal itself.  I just wanted you to see the panel (made from the Timeless Rounded Corners set).  I cut the panel 4 times, cutting one of the panels to add more room inside the panel so I could make a pocket big enough to put the little tag in.  The fourth cut was thin silver paper and I glued everything together.  The silver panel was sprayed with lime and blue sprays with three of the flower die-cuts masking the silver paper.  I then sprayed the flowers with a dark blue over what was already sprayed, took the masking glue off and glued the 3 flowers on the rectangular tag inside.  I may work on adding something to the tag, but I rather like what I've done so far.

Here is the completed outside of the journal.  As you can see the outside of the panel is the reverse of the tag.  The flowers and rounded panel are part of the Timeless Rounded Corners die set.  Think about what you want and your pocketbook too.  I ordered the Square Art Journal , Timeless Rounded Corners,
Cabin Love and Journal Phrases 2 so that I would have a solid base on which to build with a mind on getting the most with the money I wanted to spend at this time.  I don't always do it this way, but I wanted to dip my foot into the journaling world without spending an arm and a leg, like I usually do.  LOL

My Favorite Things Box Card

MFT's annual Card Design Superstar contest

I do love My Favorite Things stamp and die sets (I have many, no, I will not tell you How many), just a lot.

I love this Box die set and that fun Car.  I don't cook and I don't really know many people who really love to cook, but I couldn't pass up the cute chefs.

Card with a Circle

Yes, I could play again at Craft Roulette and here are the parameters:
Project: Card with Circle(s)
Colors: Vegetable Garden
Element: Screen(s)
Random: Fuzz

Here's the result, which I have to say is light-hearted and fun.
The circle is the blue panel upon which a movie screen is sitting.  It's really a fuzzy screen with yellow, green and peach colors which would be in my garden, to be sure.  I added another reference to fuzz on the car bumper and made it fuzzy to see too.

I figured the stop sentiment would be good for any kind of event that I could use this card for, like birthdays, thank you...

I do have to say those little white die cuts for the mirrors are hard to keep track of.

It's All About the Snowman!

 It's all about the Snowman!

I dragged an old snowman out, kicking and screaming all the way.  I had the snowman and his companion little bird with their drinks already colored, just waiting to get out and enjoy a good time.  I think he's managing that good time just fine!
