A Great Big Thank You to Dreamweaver Stencils

Be sure to see all the Divas today, September 30th, with their "Thank You" cards to Dreamweaver Stencils. I appreciated everything they did for us, from providing generous prize packages to sending the four Divas of Die Cut Divas stencils and materials to work with.  I couldn't help but go to my local stamp shop (The Stamp Art Shoppe) and purchase some more.

Here's my "Thank you" card to Dreamweaver Stencils:

I used Pine Trees LL570 stencil with Dreamweaver Stencil White Paste, colored with Copics and then cut individual trees out to use as embellishments.

I love the color combo - Gold and Black with a touch of Cream

Below, I've used a portion of the Season of Joy stencil.  It is lovely on this embossed panel.  Just a perfect dash of color.

Can you tell I love these houses?  They are Dreamweaver Stencils and I've been trying all manner of backgrounds and surfaces to use them on.  LL 459  is the stencil number so you may find it.

A Gift Tag (panel from a tissue box)

Background is a sprayed gold web on green (looks much better in person)

Yes, I know, an odd color scheme, but I like it!

Houses have glass gems on them

Close-up:  Now you can see the door and window of two of the houses

Houses on a mauve soft material sparkle background.  One of my personal favorites.

What's going on over at Die Cut Divas?  A little bit of Christmas?  Enter the challenge - CELEBRATE here.

I tend to like bright colors and shapes that are rounded, rather than square, though I do create in the square, so to speak. I used the white matte embossing paste and F/X mica powders from Dreamweaver Stencils.  I left some of the glittery powder in the grooves and took it out of others.  I brightened the berries with some Copic R29.  A tassle by JudiKins adorns the side of the card.  Simple but elegant.

This is truly a beautiful design that can be used in so many different ways.  Just a portion of the stencil is used here in matte black embossing paste - almost a shadow on the paper.  A striking difference, yes!

Have You Ever Felt lLke a Tree?

I'm feeling like a tree.  So I made a tree or two with Dreamweaver Stencils and Die-Cut.

Leafless Tree - I used only a portion of the Dreamweaver Stencils die-cut - DX7020.
Butterflies are made out of a thin orange paper.  A rather Asian feel to it.

Cypress Tree LG 650  Black Glossy Embossing Paste on the tree
with sponged on Ranger inks in the background.

Be sure to enter the Die Cut Divas challenge this month with lots of great prizes.

It's all PAULA!

Be sure to visit Die Cut Divas because it's ALL PAULA!   Her card will simply WOW you!

I will show you a Weight Management flip bound notebook I made recently though.  I used a Saturated Canary freebie on the front with the Dreamweaver Stencil sponged in on the background and a similar sponging on the back with a fence and flowers from my friend, Dawn.  The notebook covers are from tissue boxes that my co-workers save for me.

The Guts of it all
I used a CINCH I purchased at Hobby Lobby to do the binding.  I really LOVE it.  I had a coupon and had to have it.

My little guy here may not be a beauty, but he is a cutie.  This time I used the reverse of the dog die cut.  He is a bright lime green.  He's a very special dog and his name is Lima.
I think he's pretty darn cute.

Lynell Harlow, owner of Dreamweaver Stencils:

Lynell Harlow owns Dreamweaver Stencils and is our guest sponsor this month.   Let me tell you that she brings so much to her classes, her experience, patience (she had to have a lot of that with me in her class), products and teaching.   If you ever have a chance to take a class with Lynell, GO FOR IT!    Visit Die Cut Divas and get to know Lynell!

I love this dog.  He is so cute.  Lynell showed us how to use her fantastic embossing paste as a foundation to build upon.  The wonderful paper makes this guy so adorable and he's got me hooked.
And I couldn't resist the purple paper.

Interview with Lynell Harlow

Sponsor of Die Cut Divas for August 2013 - Dreamweaver Stencils
An interview with the owner of Dreamweaver Stencils, Lynell Harlow is featured on Die Cut Divas today!

I'm featuring one question here.

What is one of your favourite products that you carry & why? I think the embossing pastes are wonderful for adding dimension on dark colored papers and the Metallic F/X mica powders complement the pastes.

A list of Lynell's books and DVDs is included below.

Lynell's
Artful Cards
New Dimensions in Cardmaking
Zentangle 6 (a Design Originals book with Suzanne McNeill featuring Dreamweaver stencils and several projects by design team members)

Unique Techniques
Embossing Paste Techniques for Artful Cardmaking
Tips 'n Tools for Creating with Metal Stencils

If you ever have a chance to take a class with Lynell, don't hesitate.  You will be happy you did.  Lots of good information and products packed into her classes.  I believe she'll be in the U.K. in September.

Here is my example of using paste from Lynell's line and reading Zentangle 6 featuring Lynell's stencils.  It's a Stentangle kind of thing.  I loved doing this card as a combo of using embossing paste and a flourish of zentangles.
Of course, I have a recycled item on my card - guess?  The gold panel is a left-over piece of Xmas wrapping paper!

Middle panel - Ribbon Bow (what looks like a flower), Fan Border to the lower left (look like teeth to me), overlapping Rectangles upper right & under that is a Frond and what I call bubbles.
Left panel is a Teak Leaf & Bristles and Hair.

I have been crafting like crazy, coloring and die-cutting and paste embossing, but I can't show you everything at once, now can I?  Crafting with Dreamweaver Stencils is fun and exciting.

Dreamweaver Stencils is offering a 20 % discount so use code SWS20 when checking out at Stencil with Style.

Ok, a couple peeks at what I've been doing.
I've gotten into an Autumn mood with Autumn colors leaves, pumpkins and scarecrows.

Dreamweaver Stencils background Stencil used with a 1995 Hero Arts stamp makes my October.  LG616

Close-up of the pattern behind the scarecrow.  I rouged my Ranger inks into the stencil on patterned paper for a windy feel.  He looks like he's been working a long time out there in the swirling leaves.

The "thanks" is a die cut from the Cuttlebug Provo Craft Olivia set. I dabbed some of the wonderful Gold Embossing Paste onto the die-cut.  I like the way it turned out.  I didn't want the beauty of the leaves to be covered up so left it pretty CAS.

I think my little ghosts are pretty scary - they're hand drawn so they should be.  You see there is not drawing talent here.  A lot of little stamps that I've had for 20 years (no names on these) also decorate this card.

OUR SPONSOR FOR SEPTEMBER 2013

The Die Cut Divas' winner of last week's CELEBRATE challenge is
# 18, Cindy Groh.  Congratulations.

I sent you a Flickr email.   Please send me your address on the Flickr email and also, let me know that you are the same Cindy Groh on this blog by commenting below.

The winner of a Hero Arts "leave a post" contest is JOY.
Congratulations to you, Joy.
 Blogger joy said...
What a nice prize this would be! I am sure it would make a beautiful Christmas card and can imagine using the traditional reds and greens for this. (I don't usually do traditional colors for Christmas). Thanks for the chance!!
I know you will enjoy this cling stamp.  If you can send me a Flickr email to Clarians Hawk * Arlene, with your full name and address, I will mail your stamp out to you.

Cindy, you will love your DREAMWEAVER STENCILS and die.   As you can see, this is one fun set.  You will have so much fun using these.

I've used the two stencils (one of the sentiments) and the die in a class given by Lynell Harlow.  I was temped to purchase them, (didn't) but I might.  You can see the instructions on my post here for the card below.

Congratulations again.  And don't worry, there will be more chances to win prizes on the Die Cut Divas' challenge blog.  My LSS has given me a few things to give away as prizes.  Since I am sending out all the Dreamweaver packages, I may have to wait to offer up more "Leave a post" contests until October.

It's all about the Dies

I've been storing my dies on pages of magnetic strips.  I'm thinking of keeping my small dies on these, but have changed storing my larger dies and stencils now.

First I bought some art boards (painted wooden pieces of art bought at Big Lots cheap)

I had in mind covering the boards with a magnetic sheet (see below)
Then I put dies on one board

Then I made another board for more dies.

I hung the two boards up after moving my shelving unit from that wall to the side.

Better photos below of two boards.

The third board I made is on the right side below with all my Dreamweaver Stencils.  If you use something like this for your Dreamweaver Stencils, be sure to take the stencil off without bending the stencil.  Think of it having one side as a hinge.  Take it off as you would after stenciling with embossing paste.

Remember our great sponsor Dreamweaver Stencils is giving away four sets of Stencils each week on this the Die Cut DIvas' blog.  I will announce the first winner on Tuesday.
Thankyou, Dreamweaver Stencils
